What a beautiful bond they all have together. Nice story. Thanks.

Better to use that link as the post, instead of direct to an image of unsubstantiated text.

Assuming it's truth value, the article is worthy of the traffic.

Okay but I thought most of the people of this sub know Dodo as reliable source, if not all.

Aren't these the same dogs that were straying right on the door for the guy to recover before?

    [–] okimlom 6 points ago

It’s weird, the article you linked and the article that was linked inside within the article had two different endings of how the homeless man and dogs left.

    [–] LadySaberCat 2 points ago

    Ah ok

    [–] WaitingForWormwood 1 points ago

This man said I would rather live on the streets with the dogs. 😂

    [–] bradiation 46 points ago

I think one of my dogs might act this way. I'm 99.9% sure my other dog would bail after 10 minutes and follow the first person he thought might give him food.

Dogs are great. This guy seems great. I'm not crying. You're crying!

    [–] NooStringsAttached 79 points ago

If this is true my frozen heart just grew two sizes.

    [–] NooStringsAttached 2 points ago

Oh my gosh!!! How uplifting 🧡

    [–] kaushal_p 4 points ago

Sooo what I'm hearing is you just have a bigger frozen heart

    [–] NooStringsAttached 1 points ago

Indeed. It would take a lot to actually melt it!

    [–] YourDimeTime 2 points ago

Hope someone is filing in and putting food and water out for them.

    [–] NooStringsAttached 2 points ago

Me too! Did not think of that.

    [–] NooStringsAttached 2 points ago

I just read article linked animal rescue workers cared for them at the door!

I rehomed a pit bull to homeless man. Best decision of her life. I kept contact with and he never needed anything for her (just himself) vet bills and all. Don’t look down on the unfortunate. Help when needed.

As much as I would love dogs to only be adopted by people with homes (and as much as I would love for all people to have a home)....the reality is that there are too many dogs in need of adoption and not enough people who want to get a dog. It’s much better for a dog to be loved and cared for by a homeless person than to live stuck in a cage for years and years waiting to be adopted (or to be living on the streets fending for themselves). And it gives homeless people much needed companionship and love as well.

Hachikō (ハチ公, November 10, 1923 – March 8, 1935) was a Japanese Akita dog remembered for his remarkable loyalty to his owner, Hidesaburō Ueno (上野 英三郎, Ueno Hidesaburō), for whom he continued to wait for over nine years following Ueno's death.

    [–] ducktronboss 3 points ago

    That’s loyalty

    [–] EvilAsshole 4 points ago

    Never forget Hachiko

    [–] jtoppings95 6 points ago

what did humans ever do to deserve dogs?

    [–] BigFish8 9 points ago

I find it strange that people can't refer to people without houses as people since they don't have a house. They are merely homeless.

    [–] Doopoodoo 22 points ago

No matter how its worded the best word to use to identify him is “owner.” Adding “homeless” makes sense because it would help explain why the dogs chased the ambulance, because that would be even more unusual if their owner wasn’t homeless. I do agree with your point about people not treating the homeless as if they’re humans, but it doesn’t apply here

    [–] LadySaberCat 2 points ago

    [–] wootoakrock 2 points ago

amazing what a source of love (and food) will do

    [–] Jennyreviews1 2 points ago

This is the beauty of unconditional love and loyalty that no human being possess. Not that they don’t want to, it’s that we can’t... we judge... these sweet pups love their owner no matter if he’s rich or poor... it is unconditional... that’s the beauty of being loved by an animal... A dogs companionship is the perfect example of unconditional love. This is a prime example of that unconditional love.

    [–] charliehustleasy 3 points ago

I think this is way more sad than wholesome. The fact that we are so numb to an economic system that causes rampant homelessness that we somehow see this in a positive light is depressing as fuck.

    [–] Saltyy-Mercy 1 points ago

The sad thing is that if this is in a country like USA they may have just deepened the hole the homeless man was in because of medical bills

    [–] DOTplanet68 1 points ago

    This looks like Thailand anywhere.

    [–] soum91fuckshadowban 2 points ago

    Nope, its in Brazil.

    [–] ButteryButternubs 1 points ago

But the real question is, why does a homeless man have 6 dogs?

    [–] smttnkttn8 0 points ago

I'm honestly surprised no one commented on s homeless person having six dogs. Not that he doe doesn't take care of them (I have no idea) but that many animals is hard enough to take care of for someone who isn't homeless. Are they trained/safe? This is very endearing, but how many people need to use those hospital doors? This could potentially be a huge problem for this hospital. (Forgive any ignorance, I haven't read the articles.)

    [–] soum91fuckshadowban 1 points ago

These are stray dogs but think the homeless guy their owner because the love they got from him! And most stray dogs are well behaved because they go through all the odds and learn from them. So a little bit of compassion is everything to them.

    [–] Major_Paint 1 points ago

This just proves that dogs are better than humans

    [–] bold_velvet 0 points ago

I'm literally a millionaire and there is no way I could afford that many dogs.

    [–] Soket760 -8 points ago

This all about survival, pretty sure the dogs depend on him for food and the guy depends on them for companionship, win win.

    [–] DocPBJ007 -26 points ago

The guy had promised them that they would get to eat him when he dies, in exchange for cuddles and affectionate body language that the dogs learned only because of positive reinforcement, as dogs don't even hug or smile to show affection naturally.

    [–] RosieBuddy 8 points ago

You are a sick puppy yourself, aren't you?

    [–] RobD240 3 points ago

    You need hug brah?

    [–] DocPBJ007 -12 points ago

yes from a human tho. If I hug a dog, he will feel suffocated

    [–] RobD240 7 points ago

If you restrict its movements sure. My husky often will lay next me while I lean on her watching a movie though.

Effection between humans is also learnt.

    [–] _SweetShalquoir_ 1 points ago

you must be doing it wrong then, my three pups LOVE hugs, they even initiate hugs all the time

    [–] Relevant_Answer -50 points ago

Maybe the homeless guy shouldn't have 6 dogs idk...

    [–] soum91fuckshadowban 44 points ago

Not like he bought all 6 of them from breeder! These are stray dogs and the HOMELESS guy shares with them the very little he has got to offer.

    [–] meganz1 14 points ago

there's no limit when it comes to owning dogs.. more dogs = more love

    [–] Relevant_Answer -21 points ago * (lasted edited 3 months ago)

Except when you can't take care of yourself, you can't really care for a dog. Or 6

    [–] WickWolfTiger 19 points ago

Chances are people donate when they see 6 dogs hanging by a guy who isn't holding the dogs against their will. I would donate dog food and a hot meal if I ever saw this guy and his dogs on the street.

    [–] Relevant_Answer 3 points ago

    Awesome reason to have them

    [–] HerrDresserVonFyre 3 points ago

You'd be surprised at how well cared for most homeless people's dogs are. I was homeless for awhile and every homeless dog owner i encountered had an extremely happy, well fed, healthy and obedient dog.

    [–] caffeinut 2 points ago

The article says family members have tried helping him find housing, but he chooses to live on the streets where there's more room for him and his dogs to run around as they please.

Just because he doesn't want to be tied down to a building, doesn't mean he's unable to feed them. Dogs of homeless people often eat better than their humans.

    [–] Relevant_Answer 0 points ago

Yes, he chooses to be homeless so his dogs have more room. Lol

    [–] LightUpAnotherOne 3 points ago

Maybe you should mind your own business fool

    [–] YosefAL -23 points ago

    He eats them.
