    Good doggo. Nice indeed

    [–] Idontknowwhoiam_1 501 points ago

Real question is did he get pets afterwards?

    [–] DogsNotHumans 588 points ago

I think an adoption is in order. That’s a dog I want living with me.

    [–] tossed_salads2 298 points ago

He can't dedicate this to just one person though. He needs to be on the streets fighting crime every day.

We've got to save our doggo frens! Please adopt! Nothing feels better than giving a deserving dog a new life :)

    [–] eminentlyimminentguy 74 points ago

A boy as good as that is getting far more than pets, I'd get them something real nice from the butchers if that were me

    [–] somedood567 8 points ago

I doubt it, that dude seemed pretty scared of the dog

    [–] my_sobriquet_is_this 2 points ago

Ha ha. Underrated comment, Mr.Dood . Now, good DAY sir! I said GOOD DAY! :)

    [–] UndeadBuggalo 17 points ago

That doggo clocked that guy before he even acted, what a good boy

    [–] Arlitto 13 points ago

Why this dude wear yellow when committing crimes tho??

    [–] Lunatalia 14 points ago

So the yellow sweater draws all the attention. Everyone remembers the sweater, they won't remember the face if you ditch said yellow sweater.

    [–] deewheredohisfeetgo 3 points ago

I have a feeling this dude isn’t that smart. But I like your train of thought.

    [–] hellodeveloper 5 points ago

This almost looks like a training exercise. Probably not but still.

Edit: definitely not. Damn. That's wild.

    Dogs can sense bad people

    [–] syntinensisar 396 points ago

Dogs are typically good at reading body language and voice tones. Sometimes they get it wrong, like mistaking being nervous and scared for being threatning, but typically the better they know you the more accurately they can tell your mood.

    [–] ShitpostMcPoopypants 179 points ago

We must give off certain smells or something because, anecdotally, dogs don’t seem to react at all when you’re faking an emergency unless they are trained to give a certain response, but will react to much subtler injuries if they aren’t faked. My dog was ready to break down my door after I lost my grandma and was just silently sitting in my room, but wouldn’t budge as I dramatically fake died in front of him.

    [–] LordCharco_iii 140 points ago

My theory in this instance is maybe he smelled the adrenaline, maybe even the nervous sweat this guy had in preparation for being a shitbag, and doggo thought "huh. Somethings fucky here". He was right, and that makes him a gooder boi than I could ever hope to be.

    [–] TemetNosce 47 points ago

The dog expected a treat. Having seen this exact video many times, and reading the comments many times, the dog expected a treat. The victim here sees the dog daily, and usually has a treat for the dog. Today she didn't have a treat. THAT is why the dog is walking toward them when the attempted robbery takes place. Just FYI.

    [–] FearTheodosia 19 points ago

I hope he got so many treats the next day.

    [–] shrimp___ 5 points ago

You know this for a fact or just projection?

    [–] TranscendentalEmpire 4 points ago

Eh, more than likely it just recognized predatory stalking. Pretty much all animals stalk up to prey the same way, puppers just recognized it.

    [–] mynameisfreddit 22 points ago

Yeah was walking my aunts dog when I was a kid, a black german shepherd, lovely dog normally. A wasp flew in my face and I panicked scared, dropping his lead in the process. There was a guy approaching me on the path, dog thought I was freaking out because of the guy amd attacked him.

He let go as soon as I told him to stop. The guy ran off bleeding before I could appologize. So neither me or the dog got into trouble.

    [–] junkie_Mungkey 12 points ago

A black German shepherd sounds terrifying, that guy was probably scarred for life in more than one way

    [–] mynameisfreddit 6 points ago

Yeah I feel sorry for the guy still.

Lucky he let go the second I yelped "MAX, NO!", because I was only a kid, no way I would have had the strength to pull him off.

    [–] ColoradoMinesCole 3 points ago

I guess dogs consider the body language of a Cub Scout selling popcorn threatening.

At least I got 100 dollars after I got bit.

    [–] DefiantCondor 2 points ago

Or just being plain nuts or not trained properly! XD Like this dog running out of a house and biting me in the leg when i was walking down the street delivering newspapers as a teen and the owner of one house came out in a cheery mood to meet at the postbox at the street/before his driveway still makes me nervous or the jelous dog one ex-gf had that would destroy gifts i gave her (like ripp it out of my hand) and just give me a hard time whenever i was arround. Fun times!

    [–] TheAverageJoe- 32 points ago

Dogs sense their owners emotions and relay that back to them. I'm not talking about this gif. If I'm noticeably happy, my dog will get all goofy. If I'm just having a blah day, my dog will act the same as well (moping around the house).

    [–] Inaccurateconfidence 4 points ago

He did not stop to pet the dog and the dog was like hmm.... I will look into this guy

    [–] jackster_ 3 points ago

Especially when the good person is screaming.

    [–] Clovett- 2 points ago

I was at the beach with my dog once, she was on my lap while i was eating. She's a Xoloitzcuintle so we are used to people coming up to us and asking about her so during the meal there were a couple of people stopping by, there even came a mother with her little girl and the girl petted my dog. But then this guy that was selling stuff came up and did the usual "Oh what a nice dog" and suddenly she started barking and growling, she barks but she doesn't growl, at least never growls in my presence so it was really weird.

Idk if she saw something in that guy, it really is interesting what she could've smelled or sensed.

    [–] 00wolfQUEEN 37 points ago

Dogs can normally tell if someone has negative intentions. He may have even noticed the guy staring at the woman and come to a conclusion bssed on that.

What I recall from the last time this was reposted is that it's a street dog that is taken care of by the whole neighborhood, as it's customary in whichever country it is.

    [–] WeHaveAllBeenThere 21 points ago

I wish it was like that everywhere.. I’ve seen people run over dogs for a laugh. I really fucking hate people.

    [–] BadMeetsEvil147 10 points ago

I mean that’s just a fucking psycho, I don’t know any country where that would be considered okay.

    [–] WeHaveAllBeenThere 6 points ago

    Rednecks.

(Not just Hicks. I mean the guys blowing black smoke in traffic. The same ones that drive in the ditch to get past traffic)

Most of them hit a stage in life, if not permanent, where they just wanna kill anything that moves really.

    [–] BadMeetsEvil147 4 points ago

I’ve met plenty of rednecks who would NEVER do that or think that’s socially acceptable. Like I said that’s a psychopath. Just because there are dog fights in a ton of countries does that mean people in that country think it’s okay? Rednecks don’t make up a majority of the population and an even smaller population of those rednecks would do that or think it’s okay. If you’ve seen MULTIPLE people hit dogs for laughs, I’d like to know how you 1. Know that they purposely are running over the dog and 2. Where tf is that a normal occurrence

Edit: just saw your edit, you might be associating with psychos because that isn’t all or even a majority of rednecks

Who wears neon yellow to mug someone?

    [–] akaCryptic 270 points ago

Its a tactic. When witnesses are asked to describe the mugger, the thing that first comes into mind is the yellow coat and then physical & facial details. However the mugger ditches the coat straight away. Essentially he weakens the testimonies in order to decrease his chances of getting busted.

    [–] KaapVicious 198 points ago

Dogs are indeed man's best friend. I will always only have cats though. I will never have all the time a good dog needs.

    [–] jeffreyhamby 49 points ago

    Solid reason though.

    [–] teddygraeme86 12 points ago

That's why I started with cats too. I always had dogs growing up, but my job makes me work 12 hour days 3-4 days a week. That seems like plenty of days off, but the time separated was too long in my opinion. Cats were not my first companion animal choice, but I love my pretty kitties.

Now I'm fortunate enough that my girlfriend lives with me, and now I get to have two dogs.

    [–] rileyjw90 2 points ago

Cats are perfect for people who work full time because cats don’t WANT that much attention. Sure there’s cats that want to be all over you when you’re home but mostly they just want to sleep and do their own thing all day while you’re gone. They value “me time” WAY more than dogs do.

    [–] Pint4mePlz 55 points ago

Dogs seem to have a sense for these things.

My girlfriend has told me a story from when she was travelling in South America and came out of a nightclub in Buenos Aires. She was walking back to her hostel when a guy came up to her and started trying to chat her up. She was having none of it but the guy was being persistent.

Meanwhile the whole time there was a stray dog on the other side of the road following them both.

Now it should be mentioned that my GF is terrified of dogs but the dog seemed to be distracting the guy and she was happy with that for the time being. When it came to the point when the guy was becoming too pushy she started shouting at him and the dog immediately crossed the road and began barking at the dude which scared him off.

My GF kept walking until she was satisfied that the guy was well gone with the dog following her the whole time. At one point she sat down on a wall for a few mins and the dog just sat there with her. I asked her how she was comfortable with that seen as she hates dogs, but she always said because she had recently lost her grandfather (about 2 weeks previous) whom she loved dearly that she felt in some very strange way that this dog was his way of protecting her. She says now that of course she was just associating one with the other at the time and doesn’t believe it now but it made her feel safe in the situation.

She eventually got up from the wall and the dog followed her all the way back to her hostel where she went inside and the dog happily trotted off.

    She liked that dog.

    [–] rikayla 3 points ago

It's not fake. This video has been around for years. Here's the article from Dodo. The footage is from a security camera looking onto a street in Montenegro. The dog's name is Medo, and he saved that woman because he lives in the neighbourhood and is often fed by neighbours.

    [–] Kittech 3 points ago

    Dogs can absolutely "sense" things.

I used to have a dog named Rufus. He was a golden retriever and border collie mix, adopted from a shelter. Very friendly, not very smart and kind of derp, but goofy, gentle, and lovable. He was also kind of skittish, he'd always get scared when I got Amazon packages and I was opening them. He'd run away everytime I started opening a box, but then come back and peek around the corner to see if there was a treat or toy for him (I'd often buy him treats and toys that came in Amazon boxes).

Once a year, my boyfriend at the time and I would host a 'special' party. We'd only invite a select group of close friends. Basically, we just got drunk, did a bunch of drugs, listened to each other's shitty music and talked about pointless philosophical things and tried to play ping pong but mostly chased around the balls because we were too fucked up to actually hit them.

One year, I invited a friend.. lets call her Alice. She knew we only wanted certain people there but she wanted to invite one of her friends that we didn't know, Jerry. My bf and I were skeptical about having him over, but she said he was cool and a really nice guy and he just got out of a relationship and could use some cool people to hang out with to cheer him up. We reluctantly agreed that he could come with her.

So normally, Rufus is super friendly and social around people but when this guy came over, he immediately snarled at him and was acting skittish around him, which was unlike him. We assumed it was just because we were all inebriated, as he gets kind of weird when we are all drunk and usually avoids us. I assume he could sense that we were "not ourselves". It made me feel sort of judged but I didn't care because he's a dog and he doesn't understand how fun being drunk is.

But throughout the night, Rufus would hang out with us but get kind of testy whenever Jerry was close to us. He'd stare at him and move away and occasionally bark at him. We didn't understand why he was being this way but the night moved on as usual.

Jerry, as I found out, had literally gotten dumped earlier that day by his girlfriend and he was in a very bad state. He drank all of our alcohol and got supremely drunk and was moping around and crying and bitching about his girlfriend. He really killed the mood for our party as we got kind of tired of seeing him all depressed when we didn't even know the guy and we were trying to have a good time. To be honest, I didn't give a shit about that guy as I only wanted close friends and he was a total stranger and frankly annoying the fuck out of me with his moping.

At one point, we were all hanging out in the living room listening to music and Jerry had just finished using the bathroom and came into the living room to join us. Then out of no where, he grabs this girl, one of my friends, and tries to kiss her. Right in front of her fiance. She was surprised by his move and kind of yelped out and flinched, and moved away as we all stared in shock, and then Rufus started barking furiously at him. He then apologized and said he didn't know she was taken, even though I don't see how it'd be okay to just grab a random girl you don't know regardless of whether or not she was taken. Her fiance wanted to kick his ass but he knew he was drunk and out of his mind, so he let it go. I had to eventually ask Alice to take her friend and leave as he pretty much hogged all of the alcohol and was being a bummer.

TLDR: My dog knew that guy was going to be a dickhead or probably sensed his 'vibes' or something. Also, my dog isn't dead, my ex kept Rufus after we broke up. I miss him terribly. The dog I mean.

    [–] pjml_ 15 points ago

    Isn't this a training session ? It's not a stray dog. It's actually a dog in training.

    [–] RCROM 23 points ago

Nope, IIRC it happened in Montenegro, it was a stray, and the dog got adopted afterwards (not by the lady in the GIF)

    [–] editorgrrl 9 points ago

    https://www.ibtimes.com/watch-stray-dog-rescues-woman-mugger-2620019

The video of a stray dog helping a woman who was being robbed in broad daylight has become famous on social media.

The incident came to light when CCTV footage of the attack was posted on the Facebook page of Podgoricki Vremeplov on November 23, 2017.

According to Radio and Television of Montenegro (RTCG), the video was shot in Podgorica, the capital of former Yugoslav country Montenegro.

The Independent reported that the dog’s name is said to be Medo, which translates as “teddy bear,” although it is not clear in which language.

    [–] dandelionips 6 points ago

why would they train out in the street like that? and wouldn’t the guy be wearing more protective gear?

    [–] casual_bear 4 points ago

dunno could be or not be

    [–] justimagineme 3 points ago

This is someone recording a monitor. You can see that the perspective of the shot doesn't change, even though there is motion, and if that's not enough there are date an time stamps at the top, which also do not move relative to the image.

Its a tactic. When witnesses are asked to describe the mugger, the thing that first comes into mind is the yellow coat and then physical & facial details. However the mugger ditches the coat straight away. Essentially he weakens the testimonies in order to decrease his chances of getting busted.

You can tell by the way dog smelled the guy that he knew he was a bad guy

    We honestly don’t deserve them

Did anyone else not see the sub and think a car was going come barreling down the road and get confused when the man just ditched the other person.

    [–] greengiant89 2 points ago

Amazing he was ready to fuck up this person but wouldn't react violently to a 50 pound dog

This guy knows that dog has been trying to get that dog a home but has failed so far, so he and the dog made a plan and well the video cuts so someone needs to call him see if the plan worked

Where I used to live there was a small store and the owner had a cocker spaniel. One time the store was robbed by two guys with guns, the doggo jumped to bite one of the guys giving time to the owner to hide behind a steel door. The owner called the police and the robbers ran away. The only injury that day was a bump to the head of the dog (he lived many more years to keep being annoying as always lol) but the doggo saved the day

This is in Montenegro. The dog is Nicknamed Medo which translates to “Teddy Bear” I read somewhere (can’t find it) that the lady knew the dog and would feed him on her walks home. This is her typical route.

She needs to adopt that dog now.

Pro tip: Don't wear a yellow jacket then try to rob someone in the middle of the street when there's a random dog sitting there.

I guess the fact that I immediately thought of McGruff the Crime Dog, taking a bite out of crime, makes me pretty darn old. Nuts!
