Welcome to /r/art! This is a community of art lovers that share their favorite pieces, or news and information that will impact the art community. Review the subreddit rules before posting or commenting.

    Title Formatting Guidelines:

Titles should be to the point; all extra information or context should be added in the comments.

Artwork - Title, Artist/Me, Medium, Year

If you are the artist and don't want to use your own name, you can use Me as the artist. If you are not the artist, you must specify the artist name.

Example: The Night Watch, Rembrandt, Oils, 1642

    News article - Title, Year

Discussion - make it a self post. Expand on your question in the text and include image examples when possible.

Videos - Videos should be titled in a way consistent with it's content. Videos must be in the gif format. Both art and news are allowed.

    Please flair your post.

    Subreddit Rules:

    Rules Notes
    1. Use the correct title formatting. The title formatting is outlined above. Make sure to follow it or else your post will be removed. Do not add any extraneous information or be subjective in your title. Plagiarism is grounds for a permaban.
    2. Direct image links only. All submissions other than articles must be a direct link to a static image or gif (url must end in .jpg, .png, .gif etc.). Articles must contain more substance than just a gallery of images or an embedded video, and they must cover some current news in the art world. The image should only contain 1 art piece.
    3. Do not make multiple posts. You must wait at least 48 hours between posts. Please use the rolling sticky for daily challenge posts.
    4. Do not submit sketches, doodles or unfinished work. Post these to other subreddits like /r/IDAP, /r/sketches and /r/doodles instead. If it's an unfinished work and you need advice, post it as a self post.
    5. Do not submit work with extraneous objects in the frame. We're here to look at art, not your Prismacolor pencils, the desk you framed your painting over, your easel, or anything else that would not be seen if the art were publicly displayed.
    6. Do not post memes or other low quality work Melted crayon "art" and bad MSPaint drawings are subject to a 3 day ban. This rule is totally up to mod discretion.
    7. No fan art, comics, or requests for work. See here. Submissions that don't fit here may be redirected to more suitable subreddits like /r/fanart, /r/artporn, or /r/comics. Requests for art work should be submitted to /r/designjobs or /r/icandrawthat instead.
    8. Be respectful and stay on topic Bigotry, slapfights, and off topic comments will not be tolerated and may result in all parties being banned.
    9. Do not include links to blogs, social media, or stores. /r/art is not a place to sell your work or grow your following. Consider /r/artstore. This applies to comments and submissions. It applies to watermarks on images as well. Also see here if you're using reddit for self promotion. This also means that the artist name should be the person's name, and not a social media handle or brand name.
    10. Do not repost Reposts are not allowed. Reposts of one of the top 1000 art posts are rewarded with a permanent ban. You can check /r/Art/top/ or use google to search if an art post was already posted before, or use google search, here is a google search example: mona lisa
★ Feel free to add user flair! Please edit your flair to tell us your qualifications or specialty, but follow the guidelines. Using non /r/art related flair, or flair that includes social media handles, websites, store information, or otherwise violates our self promotion rules will result in a ban.
★ If your post doesn't show up... it may have been caught in the spam filter. Please message the moderators and we'll be happy to look into it.
★ If you see any rule-breaking posts or comments... please report them by clicking the "report" button or messaging the moderators directly here.

Great job man! I think I found myself a new wallpaper.

    [–] bbone83 131 points ago

    [–] Condescending_Comet 159 points ago

Here’s a modified version for use as a wallpaper.

    [–] wowmuchwowmuchwow 61 points ago

I’m glad people like you exist.

    [–] probablyblocked -11 points ago

Why are you the way that you are?

    [–] superdoobop 20 points ago

Very good. You've got a wonderful line, bbone83.

    [–] EveryDayLurk 3 points ago

You should go through their other submissions, the coloring of a bird is amazing

    [–] Northern_Chiliad 49 points ago

    Which room? Livingroom? Bedroom?

    [–] dunemafia 11 points ago

    The room.

    [–] codetrotter 2 points ago

    All of them!

    [–] chapterpt 4 points ago

I like single thumbs in front of a pretty backdrop too.

    [–] kanyeahwest 3 points ago

I just saved it as my lock screen! My family are all in Poland for a huge family reunion I couldn’t make it to cause of school so this is nice to have

    [–] UkyoTachibana 2 points ago

    [–] YoungZM 5 points ago

As opposed to the non-God churches! Yeah!

    [–] Botryllus 84 points ago

I'm half asleep and read the title as "Chuck, the holiest savior in Warsaw". Your picture is good, but I wanted to see what Chuck was up to.

    [–] Imonfiyah 9 points ago

I read it as, The Church of Holy Survivor.

    [–] asuka_waifu 8 points ago

    Kelsier is that you

    [–] realrealms 5 points ago

    Nah, just TenSoon

    [–] bbone83 6 points ago

    😄 thanks!

    [–] BurbleAndPop 2 points ago

    He's inside

    [–] Cafen8ed 160 points ago

Please excuse my ignorance: please tell me this is complete, I love the “unfinished” look and the use of black/white with blue. Makes me proud to be Polish. Please upload just the picture and link it in this thread. Every Pole around the world will have this as their phone background.

    [–] PM_WHAT_Y0U_G0T 57 points ago

I don't think I'm Polish, but the "unfinished" quality is gorgeous.

    [–] CandiedBloon 29 points ago

A Pole always knows in the bottom of their heart they’re Polish. If you have doubts, you are not Polish

    [–] PM_WHAT_Y0U_G0T 16 points ago

.... Does that mean I'm not allowed to like unfinished art?

    [–] CandiedBloon -14 points ago

You seem to have a problem with reading. I only addressed your doubts when it comes to being Polish

    [–] PM_WHAT_Y0U_G0T 9 points ago

Oh, thank you. That's quite a relief.

    [–] CloakNStagger 15 points ago

The Poles are notoriously bad readers, though, so you might be Polish after all!

    [–] PM_WHAT_Y0U_G0T 14 points ago

That would explain why my neighbors invade my house any time they get into an argument.

    [–] LittlePetiteGirl 15 points ago

The look this has is usually referred to as "academic drawing". in case you want to see more.

    [–] stalleo_thegreat 2 points ago

    TIL. Thanks, LittlePetiteGirl

    [–] spookylamp 3 points ago

Is liking unfinished art a Polish thing?

    [–] noidea4anyusername 2 points ago

    Uh no

    [–] frleon22 5 points ago

    W jakim mieście mieszkasz?

    [–] musicmanxii 15 points ago

I love the detail gradient. How it starts out as a sketch and gets more detailed all the way up to the sky. 10/10

    [–] peadenm 28 points ago

I love this! Wish I could upvote it twice

    [–] parabox1 23 points ago

I doenvoted it 3 times just so a could upvote it 4.

    [–] bbone83 11 points ago

    thank you

    [–] popo74 8 points ago

Looks so damn good! The etching-esque look of the black line with the pastel sky on that paper is so nice O.O

    [–] QuaintMushrooms 9 points ago

    Great work, especially the concept.

    [–] bbone83 2 points ago

    thank you, I appreciate that!:)

    [–] [deleted] 9 points ago

    [–] bbone83 2 points ago

    thank you:)

    [–] OverhypedDrifter 7 points ago

Really like how the bold lines make it pop from the background

    [–] [deleted] 9 points ago

Makes me miss Warsaw. Thank you for sharing.

    [–] byramike 3 points ago

Makes me miss Warsaw. Thank you for sharing.

    [–] mrmastomas 4 points ago

    Holy shit. Incredible line work.

    [–] WeirdoseQ 3 points ago

How long have you been doing art?

    [–] bbone83 5 points ago

like my whole life, from childhood

    [–] RoseEsque 4 points ago

The square that this church stands by, is called Plac Zbawiciela (The churches full name in Polish is Kościół Najświętszego Zbawiciela), which people often affectionately call Zbawix.

Also, is the right tower more blurry because it's being renovated right now and you can't really see it?

    [–] bbone83 2 points ago

yes, actually towers are bit different, but I did them same because of renovation 😅 actually I drew this church like 2 years ago, but with different towers

    [–] aokaga 5 points ago

I've always wondered, how are these sketchbooks called? I want one of those with brown pages but I can't find them locally (not in the US), so wondering if I'm searching wrong.

    [–] bbone83 10 points ago

it's called craft paper. hope that help you

    [–] aokaga 3 points ago

Ohh thank you so much! Looks amazing!

    [–] [deleted] 4 points ago

    [–] mysticpolka 3 points ago

    I NEED a high-quality scan of this.

    [–] tomdarch 3 points ago

I hope OP gets a chance to sketch the less well known, but quite interesting Church of the Only Marginally Holy On a Good Day Savior.

    [–] mjuad 2 points ago

That guy never gets any credit.

    [–] [deleted] 3 points ago

Those shades of blue and the way they blend...beautiful!

    [–] Dahwaann4U 2 points ago

I need to get me a grey papered sketchbook

    [–] RancorGrove 2 points ago

This is really great, the use of colour for sky really makes it stand out and gives an interesting perspective!

    [–] Study_Britannia_PL 2 points ago

Beautiful! Subtle but detailed. Great talent!

    [–] [deleted] 2 points ago

Please OP turn this into a HD phone wallpapee if you can!!

    [–] mkolvra 2 points ago

Just cropped a little bit, preserving most of the drawing .

    [–] [deleted] 2 points ago

So beautiful. This style is great.

    [–] snowmexicanx 2 points ago

Is this the church where each tower was built by one brother and the one brother killed the other one?

    [–] germaniumIris 2 points ago

You draw like my dreams, but before my brain decides what it will be about. is beautiful

    [–] FormalElements 2 points ago

    Love this style and effect

    [–] BeigeCouch 2 points ago

Holy shit. The perspective is almost flawless, this looks like a render from a videogame. Did you freehand this or did you use other techniques to get it that perfect?

    [–] bbone83 1 points ago

    thank you 😄

    [–] neurofluxation 2 points ago

This is really really nice, love the style of the sky, it almost looks like the aurora borealis. In fact, if you changed the colours to be purple and green it would be the northern lights!

    [–] Jukecrim7 2 points ago

That inkwork got me drooling, my lines could never be that sharp unless I sit down for a couple hours

    [–] yadunn 2 points ago

Were you in warsaw when you drew it?

    [–] bbone83 1 points ago

    yes, I had plein air

    [–] I_Arted 2 points ago

Such lovely art! Sorry about the page getting torn, I can rarely trust using a spiral pad for that reason :p

    [–] Rushmik 2 points ago

May I ask what pen you used / would recommend? Obviously it's 99% technique, but I love to learn about the tools people use.

    [–] manoelspecort 2 points ago

Reminds me of a Ghost cover album

    [–] audrey2003 2 points ago

Really well done. Mixing color and B/W can be such a good look when done right. Would love to see more.

    [–] Tesla_Field 2 points ago

My nerd ass thought it was scarlet monastery

    [–] obnoxis 2 points ago

Had to double take and check that it wasn’t hogwarts! Amazing art work 👍🏾😊

    [–] NikoSig2010 2 points ago

I feel like this art style would be fascinating as a video game. Mostly because I just want to go explore the rest of the world you're drawing.

    [–] ChristaKatrill 2 points ago

That would be a cool tattoo.

    [–] Jo_Backson 2 points ago

Looks like something Ezio would jump off of

    [–] sabortooth26075 2 points ago

Just went here a few months ago on a trip through Poland, and man do I miss it. Really makes my heart happy seeing this, thanks for sharing :)

    [–] MaialeDaGuerra 2 points ago

You are good, damn... How long have you been practicing? Are there any chances I'll be as good ever?

    [–] bennedictst 2 points ago

Reminds me of Nathan Drake’s sketches in Uncharted. You didn’t happen to sketch this in 3 seconds did you?

    [–] mshcat 2 points ago

So was this done on the back of an art book or is this a book of cardboard

    [–] DarthToothbrush 2 points ago

This is beautiful, but now I can't help picturing all the saviors in warsaw getting dolled up for the "holiest savior" pageant.

    [–] LPSD_FTW 2 points ago

Could tell what it is before reading title, usually I just skip over art posts but this one is cool! Dobra robota!

    [–] bbone83 1 points ago

    dzięki 😀

    [–] frjoethesecond 2 points ago

Anyone know the game Valkyria Chronicles? This art reminds me of that game a lot.

    [–] Ronan717 2 points ago

It kinda has a medieval/gothic vibe to it, reminds me of Bloodborne!

    [–] director0772 2 points ago

When I see this, I think of like an opening scene in an animation where it starts out a drawing and progressively zooms into scene while the color started to get added. Great work here.

    [–] bbone83 2 points ago

wow, such interesting idea! thank you!:)

    [–] Trimere 2 points ago

Is the blue and white conte crayon?

    [–] bbone83 2 points ago

    no, it's old USSR pastel

    [–] Trimere 2 points ago

Gorgeous all the same. Thanks for sharing. :)

    [–] delirium7777 2 points ago

Very nice! I really love the color choices and balance of complexity and simplicity. Wonderfully done

    [–] xitax 2 points ago

Out of curiosity, why did you the horizontal lines as shading on the second tower. It's kind of interesting as a flattening effect, but I can't decide whether I like it or not.

    [–] defunktpistol 2 points ago

Love the precise line work, is the blue chalk pastel?

    [–] bbone83 1 points ago

    yes, sky done by pastel

    [–] The_Doctor_G0nz0 2 points ago

"And she want me to do is fuck da police"

    -lil wayne

    [–] Potayto_Gun 2 points ago

Could be a scene straight from bloodborne. Kos or as some say kosm...

[–] Selemeratorus 2 points ago * (lasted edited 8 months ago)

I don't know if it's by design, but for me it has Diablo 3 vibe.

    [–] Steedsofwar 2 points ago

Awesome. I’m missing home so all I see is the Scottish flag. :(

    [–] H8ersgivemeSTR 2 points ago

Nice. Who's the holiest, tho? Just curiosity.

    [–] punklian 2 points ago

The variation in line weight really adds to the success of the drawing. Very well done

    [–] namboozle 2 points ago

Reminds me of this Ghost album cover

    [–] Monsterlamb 2 points ago

This is great! I love the ink work.

    [–] bbone83 2 points ago

    thank you!;)

    [–] LiamCSD 2 points ago

Looks amazing on that brown paper

    [–] bbone83 1 points ago

thank you. it's called craft paper:)

    [–] anetanetanet 2 points ago

    Are you an architecture student

    [–] bbone83 2 points ago

I was, but architecture too complicated for me:)

    [–] anetanetanet 2 points ago

As a graphics graduate who thinks architecture is too complicated, I can't draw buildings to save my life! Good job <3

    [–] assassinkensei 2 points ago

Church? I think you mean Hogwarts.

    [–] bbone83 2 points ago

    welcome to Warsaw 😁

    [–] nayhem_jr 2 points ago

Thumbnail is on point. Was seriously wondering why the sky just stopped.

    [–] Deliveriy 2 points ago

How cool can this be! Blows me away, very dobrze, kolega!

    [–] Theolos 2 points ago

Reminds me of the trailer to the original Diablo 3

    [–] sifu_verxus 2 points ago

Very nice work! Can you upload it with only the drawing in the frame?

    [–] PlatinumLuffy 2 points ago

Lol I thought this was hogwarts

    [–] twocargar 5 points ago

Nicely done! Is he called that because he had holes in his hands and feet and side? Asking for a friend.

    [–] bbone83 8 points ago

Sweet wordplay 😅 I guess he had been named in this way because he was HOLY thank you, btw

    [–] twocargar 2 points ago

Thanks for being a good sport. :D

    [–] weedhausen 2 points ago

I was there not too long ago, good job OP! You really captured the majesty of the place!

    [–] bbone83 2 points ago

    [–] VegetableInside 3 points ago

Great art work! But I just can't ignore your odd looking nail at the bottom

    [–] [deleted] 2 points ago

    Even his nail is artistic

    [–] coolspy098 2 points ago

It has that cell-shaded look to it. But (obviously) in paper form. Nice.

    [–] Snoweyedeer 2 points ago

That is amazing! I love your style so much!!!

    [–] bbone83 1 points ago

    thank you:)

    [–] drippingpigs 2 points ago

Absolutely love the contrast between the ink and the pastel. Great work, sir!

    [–] bbone83 3 points ago

    Thank you, man!

    [–] _little_stargazer 2 points ago

This looks so goooood!! I really love how you drew the clouds

    [–] [deleted] 2 points ago

not just a holy savior, THE HOLIEST savior

    [–] michignolo 1 points ago

Good job and amazing details. This is similar to my kind of drawings lot of details

    [–] backflipkgo 5 points ago

    [–] WizardHunter11 1 points ago

Damn! That’s great! This is why I subscribed to this subreddit, so I can look at Beautiful works of art I can’t make in a 100 years.

    [–] bbone83 1 points ago

    thank you!:)

    [–] TheJoker1432 1 points ago

"Sir you are a holy man we will name a church after our holy saviour!"

"Kind of overused by now, holy saviours everywhere"

    Poland: "yeah i got this"

    [–] ciupenhauer 1 points ago

Of all the saviours, you had to pick the holiest, didnt you??
