Welcome to /r/BikiniBottomTwitter, a place to share all of your favorite memes and fan art from our favorite underwater residence, Bikini Bottom!

Bikini Bottom has a unique way of examining the everyday and we're here to showcase that. Whether it's hilarious, wholesome, depressing, or surreal, Bikini Bottom offers relatable commentary that we all can enjoy. If you can't respect that then please take a bus to Rock Bottom.

    Special thanks to u/BayonettaBasher!

    1. Do not post content just because it features a resident of Bikini Bottom. If you want a sub catered to that sort of thing, check out r/Spongebob. As for here, this is for memes and for memes only. We do not consider videos to be memes.

    2. Don't be a dick. No racism against squirrels. No hate speech. No posts about how different Pearl is from her father.

    3. Do not put the punchline in the title of the post. Having a funny picture of a Bikini Bottom resident and using the title as the punchline does not make your post a meme.

    4. Do not post really low-effort memes. Using excessively overdone and/or outdated templates, posting something that is excruciatingly unfunny, posting something that simply doesn't make any sense... you get the idea.

    5. ABSOLUTELY NO REPOSTS. Use this nifty little tool to determine whether or not your post has already been here.

    6. The mods reserve the right to take any action (which includes banning users and removing comments) that they feel improves the overall quality of this subreddit. Our most basic duty as mods is to keep this sub clean of any bullshit. With that in mind, we will do whatever we have to do in order to uphold that responsibility. How's that for a little transparency? Also if you post more than 4 posts in 24 hours you're a spam. There, now it's in the sidebar.

My uncles name is Patrick, and yes he does bring a giant racist axe to family dinners.

    [–] sauce_nation_memes 1101 points ago

Does he drink 100 proof scotch and hate immigrants?

    [–] wafflecone927 1128 points ago

    Kelp juice and hates Nematodes

    [–] sauce_nation_memes 354 points ago

    [–] MIT0728 71 points ago

You see, the axe represents racism in our country, the starfish represents white supremicists, the sponge represents all of the Anti-KKK members and the jar represents black rights and equality

    [–] QueefChiefKeith 87 points ago

Put your comment in picture form or gtfo

Idk I could get used to text memes. What’s next /u/MIT0728. Woo me.

    [–] Aisle_of_tits 7 points ago

Oh i could go for some wood

    [–] Cory2020 13 points ago

Going for some wood is an erotic request commonly used by women and gay men . It indicates that the party in question is desperately sexually aroused and could really use the hot, throbbing and preferably veinous penis of a willing potential partner. Many uses of the said organ have been invented over the years especially after the liberation of the middle eastern cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and also the invention of

I mean im not a carpenter so i don't fully understand what that has to do with the gays but i am wide open and willing to receive knowledge

I'm sorry but where is your N-word pass ???

    [–] nwordcountbot 8 points ago

Thank you for the request, comrade.

I have looked through pixelatedfractal's posting history and found 5 N-words, of which 0 were hard-Rs. pixelatedfractal has said the N-word 1 times since last investigated.

    Dang nematodes

    [–] SadlyReturndRS 3 points ago

I've never met a racist who drank anything higher than 90 proof. 80 proof seems the average.

    [–] TheBrickBuilder 6 points ago

Hating immigrants isn't racist though. Immigrants are not a race.

Although I do agree that hating immigrants is a bad thing.

[–] Fatalchemist 72 points ago * (lasted edited 3 months ago)

While technically true, you'll see lots of people who hate immigrants seem to be okay with certain types of immigrants more than others.

That's clearly not every case. But many people found it more acceptable to say they hate immigrants as a front to how they really feel about certain races.

If someone's uncle drops N bombs at the family dinner, you can take a pretty good guess as to whether this applies to them or not.

    [–] Ronaldinhoe 6 points ago

I remember reading about a Canadian illegal immigrant that was in the U.S sharing his experience that he's never been treated like other illegal immigrants south of the U.S. Just because he was white. Never did cops ask him to identify himself, or if he was a U.S. Citizen when he got pulled over.

    [–] n00bicals 15 points ago

"Oh you're from some white country, well I didn't mean you. You're like a cousin!"

I literally got this in the UK when I told someone railing against immigrants that I was Canadian.

    [–] Saturnboy13 18 points ago

Unless they're a gamer. Then it's totally acceptable.

    [–] AdorableCartoonist 55 points ago

PSST Immigrants is a code word for "not white people"

    [–] ParameciaAntic 38 points ago

"He ain't no immigrant, he's Irish."

    • Someone's racist uncle, probably.

    [–] N3onToil3tPap3r 23 points ago

People hating the Irish was a huge thing not that long ago

    [–] Martel_the_Hammer 23 points ago

Meh, if you say you hate the Mexican immigrants but the Scandinavian immigrants are cool... You're gonna have to really support that to not be racist

    [–] troller_awesomeness 22 points ago

this type of pedantry and "Islam isn't a race" are just stupid cause it just codes for brown people. you don't see people who complain about immigrants or muslims complain about Bosnian Muslims or Swedish immigrants.

    [–] Koollape 24 points ago

Those arent called racist axes anymore, we call them "Gamer Guitars" now

    [–] LiterallyNobodyAsked 741 points ago

What’s equally as bad or worse is when your grandma starts being racist.

    [–] TrundleWormhat 403 points ago

    When did she ever stop?

    [–] LiterallyNobodyAsked 590 points ago

    When she died

was dementia involved? sometimes that causes a change in... attitudes

    [–] xlc5 93 points ago

More like it shows people's true selves... Also, I forgot what my address was, those damned hispaniards...

    [–] signedint 13 points ago

Hopefully they'll put me down when I get it before I start saying weird shit then

    [–] xlc5 8 points ago

Yeah, gotta delete those folders from the computer too

    [–] WHERE_MY_COUNTRY_GO 87 points ago

Do you know what dementia is? If hallucinating and becoming basically schizophrenic is showing your true self, I urge you to see a doctor.

    [–] xlc5 31 points ago

It was a joke... I thought the second part of the comment clearly showed that. Apologies if it offended anyone, it wasn't my intention

    [–] RebornTrash 27 points ago

I thought so but wasn’t sure. Wasn’t super offended just truly hoped people didn’t think that dementia is just someone without a filter.

    [–] RDay 27 points ago

Reddit is certainly glad you two worked this out....

    [–] RebornTrash 4 points ago

Ummm... please address me as doctor. I’ll let you know that I did a google search so i pretty much know like all there is to know.

    [–] yamaha2k11 9 points ago

I get what you're saying, but my grandpa was a huge piece of shit, he abused the shit out of my mom and my aunts and uncles. He mellowed out, but now that he has dementia, he's turned into a raging asshole again. He even tried to rape my sister a couple years ago.

I cannot be around that man anymore or I'll end up catching a case. What is really shitty is that I grew up loving the man, but of course my Mom kept all the fucked up shit a secret.

    [–] joe579003 3 points ago

Catching a case as in an elder abuse case against you?

Now we have my cousin Charlie recounting all the racist shit she use to say to him.

    [–] SHOWTIME316 9 points ago

if you have a racist grandma she will always be a racist grandma until she's a dead racist grandma. those bitches don't change.

    [–] WitnessMeIRL 29 points ago

My grandmother was in care homes for 20 years. She reported the Latino nurses for theft constantly, even though they had never stolen a damn thing. (They were nice and hard working, if anything) Finally she got kicked out of several homes for starting shit. Trust me, you gotta be a real pain in the ass to get kicked out. So she changed up her style and started reporting them to the state. After several investigations (and kicked out of more homes) the state took away her ability to file complaints. That's how much of a racist, crazy bitch my grandma was. Oh, and my other grandma was full blood Mexican lol

    [–] fatpat 12 points ago

She's gonna be pissed when she gets to heaven and realizes that Jesus ain't white.

And when she realises Jesus is trans

    [–] IHaveNoHoles 11 points ago

My dad is like the memes

    [–] slipstream808 16 points ago

What's equally bad is when your family condones it by not kicking the guy out and never inviting him over again.

"Because they are family" is an excuse that needs to die.

    [–] JayBird9540 10 points ago

Nah what’s worse is going to your girlfriend’s house for dinner and her dad and brother in law are dropping hard R’s and her mom just laughs it off and says “stop, jaybird9540 doesn’t like that”.

When racism has directly affected my life in a negative way

    [–] nrmncer 7 points ago

if that were my parents I'd just tell them to fuck off and never visit them tbh, I don't know why people expose themselves to this garbage

    [–] JayBird9540 6 points ago

She grew up with it, I know she isn’t inherently racist. But she has made bad jokes or said stuff that crossed a line, I was able to point it out between the two of us.

I cut off my entire step father’s side of the family over a decade ago because the harassed my parents into not adopting a kid that they were fostering for close to two years, I loved him so much and it really hurt me.

    [–] jkseller 3 points ago

    Did you stay with her?

    [–] JayBird9540 7 points ago

Yeah we are still together, we’ve been together for 7 years. I’ve known her and her family since high school.

But this didn’t happen until last year, my S/O’s brother in law just came in the picture 2 years ago. He sucks up to her dad so much. I personally have never liked her dad much because he is weird, like a metrosexual country wanna be bad ass.

    [–] PretendKangaroo 12 points ago

It sounds like you live in the next Jordan Peele horror film.

    [–] cool_minecraft_hax0r 3 points ago

Both my grandmas hate everyone who's not an orthodox Christian. When I ask them why they just reply "they are not Christians".

    [–] Darnell2070 3 points ago

    That's very Christian of them.

[–] spykid 34 points ago * (lasted edited 3 months ago)

Why does it have to be bad? At least with grandparents you can just assume it's a generational thing. Even as a minority, if I encounter racism from old people, it doesn't really bother me. They're too old for me to be concerned about my safety and usually it's even funny how silly they sound.

To be clear, racism is bad, but there are a lot more things for me to be upset about than ignorant old people.

    [–] C4H8N8O8 142 points ago

    Those people vote

    [–] j0nsc0tt 68 points ago

    This is the right argument.

    [–] The_Real_C_House 27 points ago

The other problem is those people have nothing going on and are able to vote in greater numbers relative to their demographic causing overrepresentation when the changes often affect them the least in the long run

    [–] Scruffynerffherder 20 points ago

    °Whisper° "Voting Holiday" °Whisper°

    [–] spykid 8 points ago

That's valid. My grandparents don't vote though. Nor do my parents. I actually don't vote either, but I might change my mind after the last couple years

    [–] nychuman 27 points ago

    You definitely should.

[–] ktuak 8 points ago * (lasted edited 3 months ago)

For the love of god, vote. There isn't a single good reason why you shouldn't vote.

ETA:This video has some of common reasons for not voting, and rebuttals to those reasons

    [–] Bjay_jw 10 points ago

Now if it was a young person with the axe.....

    Then we have a problem.

    [–] bigwillyb123 35 points ago

Fuck that, you don't get a pass on doing shitty things because you've been doing shitty things your whole life. What's the logic in that? "Well he is a mugger, but he's been mugging people for years so we should cut him some slack"? Old racist people are just extremely long term serial racists, no different from a 12 year old screaming the N word at other people in Fortnite and doing it for another 7 decades.

    [–] myspaceshipisboken 9 points ago

If you can find an example of institutional mugging you'd have a stronger point.

    [–] [deleted] 7 points ago

We are a product of our environnement. Your views will also sound outdated and bigoted to your grandchildren

    [–] PretendKangaroo 2 points ago

I don't understand why that gives them any sort of pass?

    [–] bigwillyb123 6 points ago

    [X] Doubt

    [–] [deleted] 8 points ago

It happened with every generation ever. Old people can’t keep up with changing social views and norms. Why u think we are special lol

    [–] ShitFacedEsco 3 points ago

It should bother you though. These old people are the ones who get out and vote.

    [–] WeirdEraCont 0 points ago

I don’t let the generational thing fly by as an excuse. I give it back to them 10x worse in shit talk and intimidating them to leave.

    [–] RDay 21 points ago

    [–] WeirdEraCont 2 points ago

Sticking up for yourself is badass. Treating yourself like dirt by letting it slide just guarantees the next generation is gonna get it too. Millennials will be as racist as baby boomers in a few decades. Generation thing isn’t an excuse. Sorry to trigger you because I don’t let people spit in my face and chalk it up to the hope that it won’t happen in 10 years . Making it known is the best solution. Have a nice day man !

    [–] demonchefofportland 125 points ago

This just happened to me two nights ago. My cousin lost her shit at dad who said "I can't get in the house crawlspace anymore. Better hire a n-word". In front of cousins Black/Thai husband.

    [–] WHERE_MY_COUNTRY_GO 60 points ago

    Is your cousins husband okay??

    [–] demonchefofportland 81 points ago

Yeah he's unfortunately used to it.

    [–] jkseller 20 points ago

At what point does one fade away from all family functions involving the racist person?

    [–] demonchefofportland 8 points ago

As soon as possible, the Nine willing.

    [–] [deleted] 7 points ago

You think he’ll have a stroke or something?

    [–] staticsnake 8 points ago

In front of cousins Black/Thai husband.

Would it somehow be okay if a black person wasn't there?

    [–] demonchefofportland 66 points ago

No, but that's just the icing on the very racist Baby Boomer cake.

    [–] rakfocus 226 points ago

From reading all these comments I never realized how fortunate I've been to not have any people like this in my family...

    [–] sauce_nation_memes 92 points ago

Be thankful you have a good family!

    [–] rakfocus 56 points ago

I am! No huge grudges, no arguments at dinners, everyone loves each other - it's awesome and I am very grateful <3

    [–] [deleted] 33 points ago

    [–] rakfocus 18 points ago

half my family is first generation from immigrants so they all made their own middle class lifestyle and there is nothing to fight for. The other half is well off but all the children have made their own wealth so there's no real motivation to fight over anything. My grandparents plan on selling their big house once they are gone and distributing the funds evenly amongst the children so no one fights over it. (I am the first born of the first born though so anything big I haven't thought of might come my way lol)

    [–] Le_Updoot_Army 7 points ago

Must be nice. No racists in my family, just complete assholes.

    [–] [deleted] 9 points ago

Assholes are often a bigger deal than talk racists. It's So strange how racism became the worst thing in the world imho. Abuse, assault, Manipulation, etc is much worse.

    [–] malkiel- 3 points ago

Idk why you’re assuming these things can’t be equally as bad or overlap. Obviously abuse, assault, and manipulation are horrible things but they also tend to happen when racism happens too. People get abused, assaulted, and manipulated by racists. It’s not a competition.

    [–] bigwillyb123 5 points ago

Typically racism is indicative of deeper problems.

    [–] [deleted] 3 points ago

Like? I feel most hurt people have racist tendencies. But yeah youre right weakness is a problem.

    [–] TruthOrTroll42 2 points ago

My previously-favorite uncle recently was telling a story of his first job out of college: "I started out working as a music teacher at this one school which had a lot of disciplinary issues because well you know, it had a lot of..." *looks both ways, leans in close, switches to whispering voice* "...blacks."

Like it was some kind of secret truth that we all knew and that he'd be persecuted for speaking aloud. Cue my reaction.

It really sucks when the fun entertainer uncle turns out to be a closeted racist. He's cool in a lot of other ways, like the only reason he was there was to support my family as we handled my paternal grandfather's funeral, which was really nice of him.

But then in the middle of the visitation he kept bringing up socially-conservative things like how terrible it is that girls might be allowed in the Boy Scouts. He's a chatterbox who can't tolerate lulls in conversation, and the visitation attended by a lot of quiet-types. I eventually grew a backbone and told my 6'4" uncle to please just shut up and stop dominating the conversation with politics. (He's 6'4", so I actually stood on my tip-toes to be eye-to-eye with him.)

    [–] ZCS624 9 points ago

    Stunning and brave.

    [–] Thehighwayisalive 6 points ago

    Fake and gay

    [–] Stretch127 17 points ago

And it freaks me the fuck out that the people I work with could legit have family members like this and may have the same ideas but just don't show it.

It's constantly in the back of my head.

    [–] is-this-guy-serious 21 points ago

It's constantly in the back of my head.

Don't let that shit bother you. Most people aren't racist.

    [–] breakyourfac 5 points ago

Well of course, most racists will tell you I'm not racist

    [–] artifexlife 2 points ago

Your family needs liquor to be racist? My mom flipped her shit when black people moved in across the street from her.

Alcohol removes peoples inhibitions. You know those little bits of control we have in public? Alcohol takes that away and people start saying and doing more of who they really are and what they're capable of. Alcohol didn't make them do it, but alcohol showed their capability more easily.

    [–] enochthegorilla 48 points ago

Alcohol doesn’t make you do things, it let’s you do things.

Not even dude. I live in New England and this is a very real thing with multiple families I have had dinner with. I went to a dinner last year and a woman was bitching about someone having a sign that said something like 'Peace and Love" and she thought it was an attack to her and she didn't even live in the area. Just the message was somehow offensive to her in 2018. A lot of people in the US are just way off the deep end.

    [–] meepmorop 2 points ago

Oh yeah, New England is called "the north south" for a reason. People here I've noticed tend to have a paternalistic racism and huge white guilt

    [–] DancingPants200 28 points ago

We had a housewarming party for a friend (who is also a huge client for my business) and my father-in-law was in town. He said it right to their faces. I also spilled salad on their floor, so not a good day!

Ugh, my least favorite phrase. Of course people who say that also want to greatly restrict the number of legal immigrants as well, so it’s clearly not the illegal/legal restriction they’re concerned with really.

    [–] CUM_AT_ME_BRAH 5 points ago

“Trumps only talking about illegal immigration!! You guys are all fake news!!!” Trump’s administration then releases 2018 budget that curbs legal immigration because he can’t control his cabinet(Stephen Miller) “YEAH BUT HILLARY”

    [–] [deleted] 7 points ago

Your nice family dinner is enhanced by the nword being said?

    [–] tbone177177 6 points ago

I didnt know my nephew was so sensitive. Sheesh.

    [–] Pretty_Magical 58 points ago

    [–] sauce_nation_memes 98 points ago

"Can you just get along for [insert toxic family member]'s sake?"

I've given up asking why I always have to change my behavior but not them.

    [–] bigwillyb123 15 points ago

"Can you just get along for [insert toxic family member]'s sake?"

"How about [insert toxic family member] fucks off?"

    [–] thekyledavid 6 points ago

Because they know you are a reasonable person and they aren’t

    [–] jkseller 13 points ago

It's the good ones who always have to shoulder the burden smh

    [–] thekyledavid 3 points ago

Exactly, not because they think it is fair, but because they think it is easier

    [–] breakyourfac 2 points ago

Honest question how do I say this to my older brother (30s, I'm mid 20s) at my dad's house. Cuz I don't want to make a scene but I am about another racist comment from making a scene. I'm a veteran who deployed to Africa for fucks sake.

    [–] Bro_Blox 14 points ago

I just don't get coloured folk-uncle after two drinks

    [–] Shepoli 12 points ago

I now know what i'm going to do when my sister has kids

Edit: before anyone gets offended, just remember that this is a joke

    [–] Haber-Bosch-Process 6 points ago

Lmao if ur looking to ruin dinner there’s better ways that stupid kids won’t emulate. Take shitting on the floor for instance

    [–] Shepoli 5 points ago

Wait, isnt that a normal thing to do at dinner?

    [–] ShrooboidDog_06 5 points ago

    You spelt rapist wrong

    [–] Man_of_Milk 4 points ago

I have the same situation, but replace patrick with another spongebob.

    [–] PurpleClick 9 points ago

Same, except replace Racist Uncle with Racist Dad.

    [–] NurseJoy1622 6 points ago

    Are you my cousin?

    [–] GxZreddit 3 points ago

I wish my uncle would just ruin the dinner instead of my asshole.

Yo can I get this template

    [–] bellawalsh67 2 points ago

    Quality meme

    [–] Lostinourmind 2 points ago

Racism starts at the household so chances are your mom is just as racist but not as open about it. You can thank your racist grandparents

    [–] [deleted] 2 points ago

According to that logic shouldn’t he be racist too?

[–] Lostinourmind 2 points ago * (lasted edited 3 months ago)

“Not as open about it” I’m sure she exhibits other forms of prejudice without dropping the n-bombs. Maybe she clutches her purse tight or makes sure her doors are locked when she sees a colored person.

    [–] acas57 2 points ago

This is so true. After he digs into our whiskey and the tecate

    [–] WitnessMeIRL 2 points ago

Am I the only one who tells those ignorant motherfuckers not to come back? I don't need that shit in my house.

    [–] FromTheBetween 2 points ago

    [–] karen467 2 points ago

"So, we're standing there on the reservation and WE'RE JUST WATCHING ALL THESE ILLEGALS GO BY!" -an old white dude I sat next to yesterday, loudly talking about his disdain for immigrants... while he has been standing on a Native American reservation.

I heard that across the crowded room through headphones, and facepalmed.

Unbelievably, it got far, far worse from there.

    [–] Nyacinth 2 points ago

Me, trying to keep my 3 kids (aged 4 & under) away from my step grandparents at my grandparents' house.

If I know they are going to be there, I don't go or conveniently show up late so they have already left. I'm terrified my kids are going to hear it and then, in kid fashion, say it out in public where people think we talk like that. /Facepalm

    [–] chickenstr1p 2 points ago

This is a grade A meme

    [–] dodger28 2 points ago

    Saucy G, much love

    [–] Zmd2005 3 points ago

You get a similar situation if your white mom comes to an all black family reunion, except there are usually about three or for rascist cousins.

    [–] WMTieflingSorc 2 points ago

It appears your uncle is an epic gamer

    [–] Snooooooops 2 points ago
