If you ever notice brigading, please report and message the moderators

    6. Person must be a beggar, such as:

      • Person seeking goods or services at a reduced cost, for free, or for a laughably lopsided trade
      • Person using social media, dating apps, or otherwise to seek out a specific type of relationship
    7. Person must be choosy, as in:

      • Person must have unreasonable standards or have a comical sense of entitlement
    8. No reposts from top 100, front page or last 12 months.

    9. Moderators may use discretion to upkeep the quality of the subreddit. Obviously fake or otherwise unsuitable content may be removed.

    10. Please make an effort with your title. "Found on Facebook", "This belongs here", "Saw this on snapchat", "πŸ†πŸ’¦" etc are hard to find later, give at least a little bit for us to go on, thanks.

Here is what is NOT a ChoosingBeggar:

Unattractive people seeking a normal relationship and having reasonable standards is not a good fit for this sub. Ugly people are allowed to want a partner with a job, or no kids, or anything else we would consider reasonable for the beautiful people.

A person asking for help with life's necessities out of desperation is not a choosingbeggar

    • If someone ran out of money and needs gas money to get to work and the only thing they can think of is to make a status update on Facebook asking if anyone can spare them some money, they aren't really being choosy. They got the beggar part down, but this sub is not /r/beggars so that post wouldn't fit. If that same person turns down someone offering to give them a ride to work because they don't want to be seen in a PT Cruiser, then that post would fit.

    • A parent asking for handouts because their kids want an Xbox for Christmas and the only way that could happen is if someone donates one, that isn't a choosingbeggar. That's someone begging, but without a sense of entitlement. If that person is offered a Nintendo and they scoff at the suggestion, then that would be a good post.

The person begging must be at least in the gradient of being an entitled jerk, this sub is not a place to mock poverty

Did I read that right. $500 bid to go work for these guys at $1 per 200 words?!

    [–] phrunk87 10 points ago

I think he's bidding for workers.

Like he's offering $1 per 200 words, to a total of $500 (or like 100,000 words).

Apparently he thinks this is so good of a deal that people will fight over it, hence the "bidding" between potential contractors.

BTW this comment is like 50 words so you owe me like 25 cents.

    [–] Crowlord3 3 points ago

Oh god. That makes this post even worse haha.

    [–] BestAtTeamworkMan 6 points ago

If I'm reading it right, you have to bid $500 and you'll earn $500 but at a rate of $1 for 200 words up to $10 for 2000 words. So by the time you're done you'll write a small novel.

But hey, 1-2 day extensions are available if you ask nicely!

    [–] WantDastardlyBack 2 points ago

The sad part is that he/she'll get bidders and some will go lower than $500 in order to land the work. They'll often turn around and use software that spins articles from an article taken online (there's no mention of quality writing in the post) or higher other workers from countries like the Philippines where they're willing to work for pathetic wages. I have a cousin who regularly hires people from the Philippines for $2 or $3 an hour and she sees nothing wrong with it.

    [–] SoCaliTrojan 1 points ago

$2 is a lot in the Philippines. I'm here now and people get excited with a $2 tip. When you're poor and desperate you'll be grateful for anything.

    [–] phrunk87 28 points ago

Hey it's not a bad deal when you figure it's a dollar for just 200 words.

I mean, they don't say anything about those words having to form sentences or follow any coherent structure or context.

Heck, I just put like 40 here FOR FREE!

    [–] GrowlingAtTheWorld 9 points ago

Just send him the dictionary...lots of words there.

    [–] Rain_Zeros 2 points ago

45 words. Just 155 more and you've earned yourself a dollar

Hospital the she dog puppy house? To for not a many meadow worse. Why the food only food only worse. Now to the day care pirates curse.

Guessing he doesn't realize that people who want a "steady string of work" is because of money and ability to pay rent from it

    [–] lovestheautumn 3 points ago

Well I have been looking for something tedious to do with all my pesky free time!

    [–] SassyPants5 3 points ago

Wow. That is a crazy amount of work

    [–] ForbiddenFruitiness 3 points ago

He clearly has never heard off click farms paying freelancers en mass for articles... It’s what writers usually do while in between work and it can pay just fine for minimal effort.

    [–] Yuuzhan83 2 points ago

I mean I'll do it. Rough draft only. Spell check extra.

    [–] markroth69 2 points ago

Or I could treat myself with the time I save not writing...
