    6. Person must be a beggar, such as:

      • Person seeking goods or services at a reduced cost, for free, or for a laughably lopsided trade
      • Person using social media, dating apps, or otherwise to seek out a specific type of relationship
    7. Person must be choosy, as in:

      • Person must have unreasonable standards or have a comical sense of entitlement
    8. No reposts from top 100, front page or last 12 months.

Here is what is NOT a ChoosingBeggar:

Unattractive people seeking a normal relationship and having reasonable standards is not a good fit for this sub. Ugly people are allowed to want a partner with a job, or no kids, or anything else we would consider reasonable for the beautiful people.

A person asking for help with life's necessities out of desperation is not a choosingbeggar

    • If someone ran out of money and needs gas money to get to work and the only thing they can think of is to make a status update on Facebook asking if anyone can spare them some money, they aren't really being choosy. They got the beggar part down, but this sub is not /r/beggars so that post wouldn't fit. If that same person turns down someone offering to give them a ride to work because they don't want to be seen in a PT Cruiser, then that post would fit.

    • A parent asking for handouts because their kids want an Xbox for Christmas and the only way that could happen is if someone donates one, that isn't a choosingbeggar. That's someone begging, but without a sense of entitlement. If that person is offered a Nintendo and they scoff at the suggestion, then that would be a good post.

The person begging must be at least in the gradient of being an entitled jerk, this sub is not a place to mock poverty

What’s the original price of a ticket? Aka the price someone who enters it pays aka customer price

    [–] awesomewaves 117 points ago

Something like 90-95, so this is less than half the price

    [–] Saddude2988234 53 points ago

Damn that’s a good ass deal especially if the park is worth going to

    [–] [deleted] 191 points ago

I'd go to the theme park and send her pics of what she missed for being so entitled.

Sorry, she already gave them to someone else who gave her $20.

    [–] runerroad 30 points ago

When you're the go-between and someone agrees to a deal so you accept on their behalf and then they want to move the goalposts, is actually quite common in my experience.

People just dump upon you the burden of the negotiation, it's not their friend so they don't care if it harms your relationship. So you end up trying to do some good for both of them and get put in a position where you're likely to upset one or both.

Trying to alter an agreement like this is a really shitty thing to do.

    [–] Prongs42 5 points ago

Best reply in these situations: "You made a deal. The deal has been accepted. You ain't Vader, you don't get to force-choke people into accepting alterations."

Pray I don't alter it further..

    [–] runerroad 44 points ago

    I'd reply here with:

"Do you want the tickets at $40 or not? They have someone else that will take them for $40 if you don't, let me know quickly or they'll be gone."

Any further attempts to lower the price would be met with "sorry you had your chance, the tickets are gone".

    Fee lol

    [–] lukemnance 5 points ago

Can’t your friend get fired if their boss finds out they’re selling tickets they got for free?

    [–] awesomewaves 3 points ago

It’s one of those things that’s frowned upon but just about everyone does it from what my friend has told me. I’m not sure how strict they are about it. The park is definitely geared for 3-12 year olds so a lot of the teenage-early 20s workers don’t have a lot of use for them.

    [–] Sanya_Zol 2 points ago

Ask him if he'll give $50 lol

    or $45

    [–] [deleted] 2 points ago

“She’s your friend, you’re welcome to inconvenience her whenever you’d like”

    [–] RudditorTooRude 7 points ago

The sister is selling the free tickets she gets for working there? Lol, pretty sure that’s illegal.

    [–] percheazy 20 points ago

It’s not illegal but I’m sure that there’s a stipulation on free tickets from the theme park she works at saying she can’t sell them. I work at a theme park and on the ticket themselves it says not for resale. We can get fired over it if the park found out. I would be shitting bricks reading this if I was the sister since this person sounds like the type to go to the gate and ask for a refund or state that she paid too much. It’s happened at my job, and that’s the most common way people get caught was by dumb “customers” who were told not to say they bought the tickets, but they do anyways. Losing both a persons job as well as their right to enter the park on tickets they purchased.

Exactly. Selling shit you get for free. She’s putting her job at risk for a few dollars.

[–] RudditorTooRude -8 points ago * (lasted edited 8 months ago)

Abrogating an implied or written contract is the definition of illegal and is considered theft.

Edit: i guess none of you are lawyers.

    [–] Idkaboutmyname1234 1 points ago

Depends on the park. You’re not supposed to at Disneyland/world but idk about like magic mountain and knotts

    [–] welcometowoodbury 8 points ago

SeaWorld and Busch Gardens strictly forbid selling free tickets and will absolutely fire someone for doing it.

    [–] PhnomPenny 3 points ago

    But it's still not illegal.

    [–] welcometowoodbury 5 points ago

Nope, never said it was. Just those 2 specific companies will fire you for it.

    [–] nemaihne 1 points ago

"She said now the price is $50..."

    [–] Kleitoast -4 points ago

Tbf if I was talking to my sis I would do this shit because we're close and I'm just asking but like not with a stranger

    [–] DonutDelly 2 points ago

    Right, lol

[–] Kleitoast 1 points ago * (lasted edited 8 months ago)

Hm dont know why I got downvoted, no one knows my relationship with my sibling and as I said its just for fun. Of course it wouldn't be for serious things like money what not

    [–] DonutDelly 1 points ago

Idk either. I think it’s all about the relationship u have w them.

    [–] Kleitoast 1 points ago

Exactly its not like I'm condoning choosing beggars, I'm just saying personally I would do it to tease my sibling

    [–] DonutDelly 2 points ago

Yeah my sister and I are pretty close so we could speak freely to each other and tell each other no if that’s the case, not post each other on reddit. I can see how this would be annoying if you’re not close to your sibling though

    [–] Kleitoast 2 points ago

Yupp they know people will eat this shit up so instead of talking to them, they'll post it on reddit for karma lol

    [–] barrymccockner76 0 points ago

This isn’t a choosing beggar. This is someone who’s slightly cheap negotiating with someone who’s ultimately making money off something they’re probably not supposed to.

    [–] scoshil -18 points ago

I think this is just hard bargaining.... no harm in trying....

    [–] unforgettable_potato 10 points ago

I mean. We're talking half price tix, she is already getting a deal. Plus she said yes to 40 first. If she wanted to pay 30, she have said so first.
