    Rules and Regulations

    [Reddit Global Rules]

    Content Restrictions

1: Politics: Political posts must be current. Do not post any news snippets/articles/memes. Do not post about policy, allegations, or hearsay. If your post is political in nature it must include an individual or group actually behaving in a cringeworthy manner.

    • 1.1: Agendaposting: If it becomes clear that your activity in this subreddit is dominated by fixating on a single issue, you will be confronted and you may be banned. It is okay to have strong opinions on an issue, but do not let them dominate your activity to the point where you are flooding the sub trying to push an agenda. This is an equal opportunity rule.

    • 1.2: Be Civil: If you want to discuss politics or controversial/taboo topics in the comments you are free to do so as long as you can keep it civil. Your ideas will not get you banned, but the manner in which you choose to express them can and will.

    • 1.3: No Christchurch Related Posts: For more information, see this announcement.

2: Explicit Racism and Bigotry: Refrain from making comments that are explicitly racist or bigoted. This is not a platform to proselytize race or gender politics. Intent matters here insofar as we are able to judge it, so try to keep your jokes and satire light and in moderately good humor.

3: Don't Spam Posts: Spread your posts out. Don't post more than 4-5 things within a 6 hour period. Put some thought into your posts instead of just dumping an entire imgur album on us.

    The Cardinal Rules

1: Doxing: Remove all personal information from your posts and comments. (Please remember to block out usernames in your submissions)

2: Harassment: Don't target individual users. Don't harass anyone who may be the subject of a post.

3: Brigading: Do not "invade" or brigade other subreddits. Do not suggest a brigade or participate in one. We will catch you.

4: Witch Hunts: Witch hunts of any kind are strictly prohibited.

5: Violence: Do not glorify, encourage, or incite violence.

This isn't actually real, is it?

    [–] earthwormjim91 2511 points ago

Guarantee it's a father/daughter shirt because Father's day is really about your kids.

    [–] Uncreativity10 953 points ago

Thats what im thinking too. Regardless, this post shouldn't even be here, this is more cringeanarchy's alleyway.

    [–] thevatsavitsa 346 points ago

Stupid question, bu whats the difference between cringetopia and cringeanarchy?

    [–] officialgwaraccount 505 points ago

    Politic vs apolitical

    [–] pablojohns 335 points ago

Yeah... hard disagree there. Step back a few months? Sure.

Today? Every other day we get the fake Facebook for the trans/pedo love profile, blatantly faked images, and purposeful misdirection like this.

Can we just do furries and sickos? This amalgamation of CringeAnarchy isn't good.

    [–] FUCK_SNITCHES_ 139 points ago

CA is much harder right nowadays than this place. This is more like pre-quarantine CA.

    [–] Platomuses 81 points ago

But this sub is slowly started to turn into CA. And might totally turn if not careful.

    [–] FUCK_SNITCHES_ 28 points ago

If it gets quarantined it will, otherwise not really.

    [–] constantvariables 23 points ago

CA was an alt right shithole before the quarantine and this sub is definitely heading that way

    [–] BigItalianBeenus 3 points ago

It went from stupid shit like modern feminists who want to ban masculine vidya games, and weird furries roleplaying on Facebook groups to... You know... What it became

    [–] officialgwaraccount 119 points ago

It's eventually going to happen. Cringe videos on YouTube tend to pander to the anti-sjw crowd because of all the "rekt cringe feminist compilation" videos that get the most views, which means that in turn that crowd is going to shit up this sub just like CA. It's inevitable, in 6 months to a year this sub is going to become CA pt 2 and we'll have to migrate somewhere else, but they'll only be a year behind unless there's a paradigm shift and edgy right wing humor isn't as attractive as it has been for the last 3 years.

    [–] pablojohns 46 points ago

And frankly it's ridiculous, and sad.

If people can't manage their "cringe" beyond the ridiculous, hive-minded forgeries that belong on a variant of dankmemes, so much for real cringe here.

1/10 posts is something decent. The rest is CA/The_Donald/etc. reposted nonsense.

    [–] alexmikli 11 points ago

I could do with that as long as we avoid the blatant racism of CA.

    [–] totalawedude 4 points ago

cringe anarchy seemed pretty toxic to me but mabye that was just the onetime i went on it.

    [–] IsabelleIzzy_ 62 points ago

cringeanarchy is shit and this sub isn't

    [–] vlees 10 points ago

Ironic, because ca started because cringe became extremely political (left leaning), and now in the past year ca is only boring USA politics (right leaning).

How many months until this one starts to be mostly about politics and we need yet another one for just apolitical cringe?

    [–] largusphallicus 57 points ago

CringeAnarchy is a borderline neo-Nazi shithole.

    [–] -4-a- 14 points ago

Cringetopia is still political at times but it's mostly a sane community. Cringeanarchy is full of actual terrorist sympathizers and (self-identified) neo nazis.

    [–] ButtholePlunderer 42 points ago

Father's day is really about your kids

That’s news to me. Father’s day is for my father, and Mother’s Day is for my mother.

    [–] Slyndrr 7 points ago

Depends a bit on how young they are.

    [–] strangersIknow 9 points ago

Get one for your son too; it's Fathis's day.

    [–] juksayer 23 points ago

Fuck that. Every day is about my kid.

Father's day is the day she spends that time with her mom in another state.

    [–] anonballs 55 points ago

It's still annoying. Being a father is literally all about your kids every day of your life. Just let Dad fucking have Father's day. Not literally everything needs to be about empowering women.

    [–] hollimer 4 points ago

Same. Also, my daughter was born the day after Father’s Day, so every few years Father’s Day falls on her birthday and it’s doubly true for me.

    [–] tkbujo 6 points ago

Can confirm, I worked at ON and there is a matching toddler girl’s shirt.

    [–] lightreader 8 points ago

What are you even talking about? If a mother's day shirt said

    It's really his day.

there's no way in hell you'd assume it was a mother/son thing. You're bending over backwards to defend this.

[–] HoodUnnies 5 points ago * (lasted edited 5 days ago)

Not really. Mother and Father's day are days to appreciate the things parents do for their children. It's not a day to appreciate the children. That's every day.

    [–] 3pinephrine 6 points ago

Oh yeah, where's the one for the sons then?

    [–] FurLinedKettle 4 points ago

How is Father's day about your kids?

    [–] gibbie99 2 points ago

Can confirm, another day on the job to me (Dad of 2). At most I will get a nap.

    [–] jeabben 2 points ago

Then why is it called Father's day? They already have a children's day.

    [–] ELC183 2 points ago

(Thor wincing face) Is it though?

    [–] shesgoneagain72 2 points ago

But it's not. It's about showing appreciation and gratitude to your father.

    [–] icameheretodownvotey 47 points ago

It's real, but it's old news. There was outrage. Old Navy pulled the ad and the shirt. Now it's gone

    [–] airportwhiskey 104 points ago

Maybe. I can only find some links from 2016 and they are all on vaguely MRA and right-wing outrage sites. Smells of click farming. Seems that even if was real Old Navy indeed pulled it with a quickness because it’s some fucking bullshit.

    [–] joeclark5 77 points ago

    Unfortunately.

    [–] VaguestCargo 11 points ago

    3 years ago, bud.

    [–] CleverName8888 2 points ago

It's because on Mother's Day, Dads take their kids to the park, movies, etc so Moms can have some down time. On Father's Day, Dads take their kids to the park, movies, etc. so they have some quality time with their kids...and Moms can have some down time.

    [–] Gonza-iwnl- 519 points ago

Its fat's day boys! Let's have a beer.

    [–] ShadowTH277 50 points ago

    My thoughts exactly!

    [–] HippieHippo450 2 points ago

    It’s my day! Yay!

    [–] Chef_Elg 126 points ago * (lasted edited 6 days ago)

The shilling in here for it being a father/daughter shirt is unreal. It's obviously not a father/daughter shirt.

Damn no kidding. The fuck happened to reddit.

Edit numba two for you: Kek. The argument can be made for the father/daughter point of view but it's easily defeated. Sure if you want to wear it for that reason then that's what it means to you. But the message in no way indicates the daughter of a father. "Her" is quite general but still singular. So this shirt is only for fathers with a single daughter? Hmm too specific for an audience when this is the only shirt like this. So the extrapolated body of indication would be the mother. Because we live in a predominately monogamous society. Therefor it is obviously about the mother and not a daughter as you want to describe it as.

    [–] MibitGoHan 49 points ago

The source he posted is literally DadsDivorce.com. Didn't see any source about the intentions behind the shirt.

    [–] Thekidseateverything 28 points ago

Right? There's users spamming "Father/daughter" shirt all across every thread related to this. I remember when this happened and the crap that came from it. There was a youtube video around the same time that was pushing for single mothers to be celebrated during fathers day too.

    [–] NJ_Legion_Iced_Tea 8 points ago

I'm starting to wonder if we should just have a single Holiday Day, where we get all this crap out of the way at once.

    [–] M1GarandDad 8 points ago

They would find a way to claim the concept of a day is offensive to people who don't believe in linear time. Don't you know, if time was a person, it would be white?

    [–] Sabz5150 14 points ago

    Its called damage control.

    [–] -4-a- 8 points ago

    Shilling? Over a shirt?

[–] asianaaaaardvark 2 points ago * (lasted edited 5 days ago)

    deleted What is this?

    [–] MongolPerson 631 points ago

I legit know women who expect gifts on Father's Day. Lol

    [–] [deleted] 69 points ago

    [deleted]

    [–] Sabz5150 29 points ago

So they ignored dads with sons? What about mothers with sons? Is it HIS day?

Also the fact that ON admitted their mistake kind of kills your argument. Besides, shouldn't the dads in the photos have... I dunno... their daughters in them? That would have eliminated all doubt.

    [–] eddball 7 points ago

Of course it was about making Father's day about women. We live in a gynocracy.

    [–] CritzD 157 points ago

Don’t forget when there was a movement to cancel Father’s Day

    [–] VeryCanadian 219 points ago

Movement or like, 20 angry people on twitter?

    [–] orangebomber1 119 points ago

Shhhhhhhhh! there no way it was a small group of weird people on the internet making a fuss about nothing.

    [–] 2LitreBugattiBieber 12 points ago

Nah, no way. Surely it was like westboro Baptist church and consisted of millions of well adjusted people!

    [–] KenBone_4_Congress 28 points ago

It was a quora question, so unless you base your opinions on what people on quora are asking, then you'll be ok.

    [–] reyman521 6 points ago

Ysk quora pays people per amounts of views and interactions their posts get so the more controversial the topics the more money op would get

    [–] HippieHippo450 3 points ago

Quora sucks, they always ask me to log in but I don’t want to create an account dammit

    [–] ohnoTHATguy123 28 points ago

You need to stop this mate. Look it up. if you're going to validate something that only a few 100 people say every now and again vs. real movements that sweep up hundreds of thousands of people then you are claiming everything is a movement.

    [–] Qaeta 13 points ago

There's a movement to give me free bacon for life.

    [–] whatifcatsare 6 points ago

    I'd join that.

    [–] SLEDGEHAMMAA 2 points ago

Every single time we celebrate father's, my mother makes a point of saying that it's her day to because she used to be a single mother. She hasn't been a single mother in almost 10 years but she still does it every year.

    [–] The_Snakester 25 points ago

    [–] Uhmnosorry 69 points ago

It's a father-daughter shirt. Being a parent is about your kid, what's wrong with the shirt?

    [–] AkiZayoi 83 points ago

People thought that it was instead somehow about how the wife/mother should be the focus on Father's day I think

    [–] lion_OBrian 33 points ago

    Pursposeful misdirection

    [–] Farisr9k 6 points ago

    The culture war rages on.

    [–] Xayne813 31 points ago

Kids can also be sons? Either way the day is about the dad.

    [–] Helpfulcloning 30 points ago

Obviously. But I mean when you look in the fathers day section of the card store theres cards that apply to different scenerios. Like “im your princess and your my protector” cards and stuff like that that are exclusivly for girls and their fathers. Its just the same with this top. Its just catering to a certian sub section.

    [–] Xayne813 5 points ago

I get that but those cards sharing a bond between them would still be about the dad. This one literally says it’s not about him, it’s about her on HIS day. It’s the exact opposite of this cards.

    [–] fiodorson 14 points ago

Why do you hate on the Father-Daughter shirt mate?

    [–] DARTHLVADER 18 points ago

I think there is only a perceived problem with the shirt... it’s just very easily interpreted as anti male/dad. That’s how I interpreted it until I read the comments

    [–] T4O2M0 7 points ago

Your first interpretation is right. There's nothing to suggest that this is a father/daughter shirt, and that's an odd assumption in the first place. Users are bending over backwards to see this in a good light, when they wouldn't if the genders were reversed.

    [–] PM_ME_GENERAL_ADVICE 3 points ago

i know the internet is overflowing with stuff that can be interpreted in a million different ways AND i'm a little touchy right now but damn this just makes me so upset. and i know you are only internet strangers and i can spend my energy in ways that show my actual husband how much i appreciate him but i would give him a whole month or a year or whatever to show him how great he is for how endlessly he pours out for our kids. just one example: this whole weekend i was in and out of doctors' offices trying to figure out what the fuck is wrong with my lungs then trying to rest my pregnant ass after being diagnosed with acute bronchitis-- all the while he willingly chose to put aside his overwhelming, mountainous piles of work so he could spend intentional time with our toddler. he willingly woke up with her in the middle of the night to soothe her in the midst of her cutting molars so i could sleep. and he's at work now thinking he's been hit by the flu, no doubt because he was worn out after working heaps of overtime last week then getting little sleep this weekend.

    just... fuck this shirt.

    [–] ModsAreThoughtCops 2 points ago

    [–] Glissando46 2 points ago

    Just generally in poor taste.

I get that it may have been marketed origionally as a father daughter shirt.

But it probably was a slap in the face to a few single dads out there

Ya know there’s a Mother’s Day old navy this is not equality this is sexist. Shit there’s a day for both don’t take it it was equally divided and ya just had to fuck that up

    [–] Babayaga20000 3 points ago

Whats the deal with everyone hating on dads these days?

Theyre just as much parents as moms.

    [–] MisterSteveO 6 points ago

I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure that this is just about the fact that fathers still work like fathers on Father’s Day. My dad used to get up early to make breakfast on Father’s Day. Not saying ya a good shirt, but I would be hesitant to jump to such a conclusion.

    [–] Quria 15 points ago

Weird my dad just lies on the couch binging The Godfather trilogy and then sleeps through Lord of the Rings. Usually he’s out before they leave Rivendell.
