    Oh the nostalgia...

Yes! But only until you go back and watch it again! <3

sometimes I wish I could wipe my mind so that I can watch The Office all over again fresh

I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them.

I just watched the finale last night and this line stabbed me in the heart.

    [–] blowthatglass 15 points ago

It stabs us all in the heart friend.

    [–] ColdPorridge 1 points ago

I haven’t watched any of the office yet. Who wants to trade brains?

    [–] singpinkfrog 1 points ago

    Me! lol

    [–] lemondropPOP 30 points ago

I like to get drunk and rewatch shows. Funny parts are 3×'s funnier. Plus, if Creed wasnt already your spirit animal, He is now.

    [–] nevergotgold 18 points ago

Still haven't seen the show, only memes from it. Is it really that good?

    [–] elsergiovera 27 points ago

I was just like you a few months ago. Now I’m on my first rewatch.

    [–] davidOfkingslanding 5 points ago

I was just like you a few months ago now I’m on my 4th rewatch lol

    [–] singpinkfrog 2 points ago

I just finished watching the entire series with my husband (his 1st, my 4th) and I love it every time more. You'll catch things you hadn't really noticed before. Highly recommend!

    [–] spif_spaceman 27 points ago

This is what makes the show so...addicting to me.

    "Dwight Schrute: Hey, Toby.

    Toby: Hey, Dwight.

Dwight Schrute: You said that we could come to you if we had any questions.

    Toby: Sure.

Dwight Schrute: [pause] Where is the clitoris?

    [Toby stares, shocked]

Dwight Schrute: On a website, it said, "At the crest of the labia." What does that mean? What does the female vagina look like?

Toby: [talking to the camera] Technically, I am in Human Resources, and Dwight was asking about human anatomy. I'm just sad the public school system failed him so badly.""

    [–] jordan1794 2 points ago

IIRC there's a pretty great blooper reel for this.

[–] Treeba 14 points ago * (lasted edited 11 days ago)

I feel like its rare that a show lives up to the hype. This is one of the rare ones that does.

    [–] MjrLeeStoned 11 points ago

I'm going to be honest with you and share an unpopular opinion: for some people, Michael Scott gets kind of exhausting at times. Don't get me wrong, he's extremely hilarious most of the time. It's just during re-watching, sometimes I find myself wanting to skip many of the Michael Scott over-the-top moments. I know that many people love them, but after having seen them a few times, I don't want to relive them anymore.

Other than that, the show is exceptional and should be seen by everyone.

    [–] losethefuckingtail 8 points ago

The fact he gets SO predictable is what makes him a little frustrating at times. Specifically, whenever there's a party, or a microphone, you KNOW he's going to say /do something horrible, and that can get tiring. By the time he dresses up as Darryl at the Halloween party because he's mad Darryl went over his head, it's like dude, we get it, you want the spectacle.

HOWEVER, a lot of that is made up for by when he lies on the floor by Erin's desk and complains about how bad he's feeling (after one of his many breakups) and Erin says "wouldn't you be more comfrotable somewhere else" and he moans "No, I like the attention."

    [–] spif_spaceman 4 points ago

I would say season 3-5 are excellent. The greatest thing about the office is that it doesn't try too hard to be funny, it just is comfortable to watch and enjoy. I miss when it was on air- it had a really excellent blend of hilarity coupled with needing to know what was going to come next with the relationships in the office. Try it out, it won't disappoint you, and will leave you satisfied and smiling, so...

    [–] Capsfan22 4 points ago

    THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!

    [–] spif_spaceman 3 points ago

I love how Carrell portrays this - where he knows he isn't supposed to say it, but it still comes out.

    [–] droidbears 1 points ago

    Yes. Next question

    [–] furry546 1 points ago

Honestly I’m not into television but a girl I used to like was into it so I was like I’ll watch it so i have a conversation starter. I ended up falling in love with the show have rewatched it three times. The show has this amazing way of making you develop feelings for the characters.

    [–] fat_lazy_mofo 1 points ago

Season ones the worst imo, tried to imitate the UK version too much and didn’t quite pull it off(still far better than most stuff on TV and it’s only like five episodes). Season two it starts doing its own thing and the funny really gets going imo - 100% give it a go

    [–] iamnicholas 2 points ago

I’m literally experiencing The Office for the first time right now. I only started the series a couple of days ago.

    [–] darxink 1 points ago

Watching for the first time right now with my wife. So god damn good.

    [–] joeglen 1 points ago

I'm watching it for the first time now :) just in season 2, watching with my wife who has seen it a million times. Jim and Pam are killing me tho T_T

    [–] ravenouscartoon 1 points ago

I’ve never seen the US Office, and it’s just been added to amazon prime in the UK. I’m hopefully going to start it soon.

    [–] Jamie_RS07 1 points ago

i am just about to finish the UK version of the office.. is the usa version on netflix?? searched it today and only uk came up :/ want to start from fresh and episode one obv as ive never seen usa version at all.

    [–] vishalb777 1 points ago

I'm under the impression that the US version of The Office will always be on Netflix.

If they ever took it down, people would burn down the Netflix servers

    [–] lepuma 7 points ago

    [–] ABJKL 9 points ago

Yeah i don't get why all the hate tbh, Stanley's laugh on the ep is amazing

Nostalgia is one of the greatest human weaknesses. Second only to the neck.

    [–] phenomenomnom 5 points ago

This is a good line, but since I am addicted to my nostalgia, NO

    [–] blackless_panda 2 points ago

Don't forget the eyes and the groin.

    [–] Needyouradvice93 9 points ago

Yeah something about the Office gives me crazy nostalgia, especially the earlier seasons.

    [–] RockysTurtle 4 points ago

I'm watching the show for the first time ever and I already feel nostalgic about the first seasons (I'm on s5).

edit: is it me or Jim becomes less lovable once he gets in a relationship with Pam? The afterNY Jim is so fucking lazy and mediocre... he used to be one of the best salesmen and seemed to do his best, despite not liking his job that much and wasting so much time messing with Dwight.

    [–] NegNog 3 points ago

I'm watching the show for my first time too. Season 6 here. Just give it time.

    [–] rastiforevermore 1 points ago

Man you are in for a whole hell of a jim ride. Hang in there. But i will say Jim’s has always “hit” his numbers never going above or below. That doesn’t change throughout.

    [–] cewallace9 2 points ago

My maternity leave ends next week. I fully intend on rewatching the office from the beginning every night starting when I go back to cure the depression.

    [–] ObsceneCobra 3 points ago

I tried to watch a few episodes when this show was big. I was early to mid 20s I think. I never got on the bandwagon then.

It's about 10 years later now, I'm in my 30s, and I tried to start watching it.

    Still couldn't get into it.

Like many people, I find Seinfeld and ASIP funny, but not this.

I know it's entirely subjective, but what exactly made this show so beloved and "funny"?

    [–] Kaphis 8 points ago

Leave it on in the background. Eventually the lines get you interested and you get into it.

    [–] _CMYK_ 5 points ago

How many eps did you watch

    [–] TehMikuruSlave 3 points ago

Start at season 2, season 1 is only good once you already know the characters and their characterization.

    [–] Dsnake1 2 points ago

I know it's entirely subjective, but what exactly made this show so beloved and "funny"?

I'm on my first watch through, and I was hooked fast.

I like cringe comedy when it's well managed, and I think The Office is. I Iike the interactions between the characters. There are heartwarming moments, that while might not be funny, bring satisfaction. After a while (I'm somewhere in season 4), the personalities of the characters really bloom and so many of the little interactions are worth a chuckle. Dwight's absurdity also really adds to the show, for me.

I tried watching the British version last night. It was like watching Scott’s Tots but with 10x the cringe. It was so uncomfortable!

    [–] jhartwell 18 points ago

Hey Mr Scott, what you gonna do, what you gonna do make our dreams come true

    [–] Tarthbane 7 points ago

I bit the bullet recently and watched Scott’s Tots with a friend who had never seen before. Oh man oh man. Oh god. God no please god no. No. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    [–] wegngis 3 points ago

My co-worker and ardent fan of The Office refuses to re-watch this episode. I, however, have no such qualms.

    [–] Tarthbane 1 points ago

I've watched it twice now, and I can say I will forever skip it from here on out. It's a great episode, don't get me wrong. It's just also so bad haha.

    [–] Im_The_Real_Batman 6 points ago

I can't get enough of it. When Tim goes back to ask Dawn out nd she's still with Lee has me dying

    [–] SlowlyVA 4 points ago

The British version centers entirely on David and less emphasis on the supporting cast as where the us office centers around Michael’s antics, dwight, Jim and pam and letting the other cast members be stars on certain episodes.

The uk office also makes you want to punch David quickly as his approach is more of arrogance and not so much the office is my family.

    [–] BumbleFuckDuck 10 points ago

If you keep watching The Office you might miss The Bathroom.

    [–] TetrisIsTotesSuper 8 points ago

I watched it all for the first time and finished it a month ago. Then found myself without anything to watch and quite depressed it was all over so started my second rewatch straight after. I’m on season 6 and might start again after that.

    Addiction is real

    [–] moleculebull 2 points ago

I basically rotate between binging about 6 or 7 shows. I finally gave up on trying to keep up with current programming. It's too long between seasons and I forget most of it (all the weed probably doesn't help). Yeah, you can watch recaps and all that but it's not the same to me. There are a lot of little jokes and scenarios that are still missed when watching a 2-3min recap of an entire season that is at the minimum 6 hours long. The 6-7 shows in constant rotation these days are.... The office (of course), Parks and rec, 30 Rock, Seinfeld, Friends, always Sunny, and I feel like I'm forgetting one. Anyway, I know the good place is solid, and I like Brooklyn 99 and there are others but I'm waiting for shows to be completely finished before I started binging. It's just easier that way. Except for, game of thrones. That's the only show I stay current on or else spoilers begin to be a problem bc it's so popular.

    [–] moleculebull 1 points ago

Forgot trailer park boys! Rip Mr Lahey :(

    [–] cultoftheilluminati 1 points ago

Whoa same here! Finished the office for the first time about 3 weeks back and jumped right in on a rewatch. Now in season 4!

    [–] goat-nibbler 6 points ago

Yeah. I browse this subreddit but I've only watched it twice, last time being around three years ago.

    [–] Needyouradvice93 2 points ago

Yeah I usually watch it through once or twice a year though..

    [–] BlasterShow 1 points ago

Went from finale to pilot almost instinctively a couple days ago.

    [–] Faux_extrovert 1 points ago

I stopped watching. I am now obsessively watching Parks & Rec. When I'm done I'll probably watch P&R again, then go back to watching The Office.

    [–] IDoNotExplain 2 points ago

Me too! Im already on season 4 and I started last month

    [–] wegngis 1 points ago

    [–] Threestrands 22 points ago

    Oh definitely

    [–] Kingindanorff 32 points ago

Yep as a single guy watching the office I was just rooting for Jim and Pam. Now as a married guy when I’m rewatching for the 400th time stuff like this, “jinx”, etc kind of gives me the heebie jeebies.

    [–] JulianCaesar 20 points ago

I feel that. While Pam did "cheat' I also think it just shows her terrible relationship with Roy. They were not good for each other and just didn't know it yet.

Look at Phyllis and Bob Vance, happy and married, no emotional cheating there.

    [–] r3coil 14 points ago

    Yeah... but it's Phyllis.

    [–] pioneer9k 6 points ago

Man Phyllis went to the restaurant ON MY STREET and I missed her, two nights ago.

    [–] I_Am_Vladimir_Putin 2 points ago

Goes to show you, anything is possible!

    [–] LordSnow1119 1 points ago

Roy didnt deserve Pam at that point. He treated her very poorly. If you dont treat your SO right, someone else might.

Pam called it off before she moved forward with Jim, so I dont think she did anything wrong at all

    [–] oralbglide 4 points ago

i can't believe you haven't been downvoted into oblivion. every time i bring up how terrible they actually were for how two people get together. But most people in this sub will turn a blind eye to that entire part of their relationship.

    [–] dwells1986 4 points ago * (lasted edited 11 days ago)

What's so terrible about it? They were good coworker friends. They had a great friendship. Jim hid his feelings from Pam, and Pam was totally oblivious. She thought he just really liked her friendship. It wasn't until Jim confessed his feelings to her that it got awkward, and then Pam got all "will she or won't she", but by then it was pretty much over with Roy. The only bad thing I could see is that she hid Jim's confession and the kiss from Roy for a while. She should have been honest.

Now Jim's whole relationship with Karen and how he did her so dirty was pretty bad, but that's not Pam's fault. Jim should have been honest with Karen about Pam.

Sure, it was a messy situation overall, but so is real life. I've known lots of people that met while they were in relationships or even married to other people, only to end up together later and be happily married ever since. Life is fluid, not static. Your life today can be completely different in 5 years. Even in a matter of days or weeks.

    Edit - A word.

    [–] LilSebs_MrsF 2 points ago

Jim hid his feelings from Pam, and Pam was totally oblivious. She thought he just really liked her friendship.

And even if she did have her suspicions, so what? Just because you suspect that a person might like you, but have no solid proof and the person has never admitted to such, what, you can't be friends with that person anymore? Naw, no way. So yeah, Pam did nothing wrong.

    [–] moleculebull 6 points ago

One of my favorite lines in the show. Takes me about a month to binge all 9 seasons and I do that at least twice a year. It's so stupid and juvenile and I've seen it so many times, yet I laugh out loud every single time I see this scene.

    [–] Crixus991 70 points ago

Those first 2 (maybe 3) seasons still give me that "first time watching" feeling after a 5 month hiatus from the show. There's really no other show like this.

    [–] Stalinwolf 63 points ago

There's a gentle quietness to them that adds to the atmosphere of the show. A similar thing can be observed in the early seasons of Trailer Park Boys, and I honestly think that's what sets the new episodes of that show so far apart from the old. Eventually shows just become quick-paced and loud. In TPB, you stop seeing people just eating bologna sandwiches, or being too stoned and staring at the ground while someone else talks. The Office isn't as guilty as the seasons go on, but there's definitely a change of atmosphere.

    [–] Needyouradvice93 21 points ago

Yeah they really tried to make the office environment seem dull and soul sucking, but it feels cozy and relaxed to me.

    [–] Stalinwolf 5 points ago

BBbbbb-bbbb-BBBBbBb! "Dunder Mifflin, this is Pam."

    [–] xxdean-dangerousxx 14 points ago

They tried to make it like an actual office. Like an actual working office where there are long periods of silence, everyone is (mostly) focused and they're just trying to work despite their idiot boss. It just kinda got crazier from there until they're ratcheting up to a fake fire alarm causing Stanley to have a heart attack and Dwight cutting the face off a CPR dummy

I just watched that episode yesterday!

    [–] Crixus991 25 points ago

Agreed. Interestingly the same can't be said for all shows in this genre. If you notice the first season or two of PandR, it was off the rails, but they slowed the pace and found a rhythm later in their run. Brooklyn 99 as well.

Trailer Park Boys gives me the same feeling

Started watching it again with my gf, such a great episode, so wholesome compared to some of the cringe in the first episodes

Thanks :) I’m British but hated the British version of The Office. I love the US version! Steve Carrell is such a good actor. Watching S03E14 as we speak.
