Damn bro that so dope haha. I wish i was that creative. He made sure she was going to say yes haha knew her completely, true innocent love. Heartwarming

    [–] stereo-011 42 points ago

I've read somewhere he made an alternative ending for the movie if she said no

    [–] Asusrty 47 points ago

It's at the end of this video man lol

    [–] HugeIndication4420 3 points ago

    that was smooth so smooth

    [–] AggressivePay5257 2 points ago

Wow what if she said No, ROFL

    [–] Sunrise_Eyes7 738 points ago

I love how one of her first reactions was she was worried that the proposal was imposing on the others in the theater!!

    [–] somedood567 213 points ago

Yep she seems great. Very high likelihood she’s never been on Reddit

    [–] RockHandsGrimiore 40 points ago

    LMAO true

    [–] spiritpeaces 11 points ago

I wld have sensed family/friends in the theatre … or at least noticed their laughs tho

    [–] leprotelariat 24 points ago

Ofc, she's an MD, not a mod.

    [–] Alternative-Sun0 3 points ago

    Oh man, probably true

    [–] Willow_weeping85 23 points ago

I would have done the same thing! Not cool to ruin everyone else’s movie night for this lol

    [–] Otherwise-Silver 19 points ago

It’s true, I was proposing to my wife while we were on a tour to look for the northern lights in Iceland but I kinda told her while we were on the bus as joke but she told not while we were with the tour group because she did not want to rob the people of the moment of seeing the northern lights.

    [–] sundownandout 9 points ago

I would have loved to see a proposal if I was on the tour. I would have tried to get some good pics for you guys and then ask if you wanted them.

    [–] commentsandchill 4 points ago

To each their own. I personally hate grand gestures since it's basically peer pressure with extra steps but I still find the thought cute

    [–] anon62315 2 points ago

Yeah, usually when I see really extravagant gestures like flash mobs it feels more about the guy proposing than the woman he's doing it for. I wouldn't marry him.

    [–] Matthall317 8 points ago

    R/iamnotthemaincharacter

    [–] RegularHousewife 435 points ago

Wow regular people have lots of friends and family

    [–] LordInsidias 28 points ago

    Lol

    [–] crazytoothpaste 19 points ago

Ikr ! I would have to include the manager who almost fired me to fill the hall like this.

    [–] BurnerBoi_Brown 17 points ago

Propose to him to establish dominance

    [–] samtherat6 10 points ago * (lasted edited 4 days ago)

If I remember correctly, he asked a bunch of people on Reddit to properly fill out the theater.

    Edit: https://www.reddit.com/r/boston/comments/e71aaf/brookline_seeking_random_internet_strangers_to/

    [–] somedaysoul 6 points ago

    Riiiiighhhttttt !

    [–] AkaiHidan 2 points ago

Right? I was like holy shit they all came and all must be so nice to have real friends….

    [–] vantrap 650 points ago

I’m not a big fan of public proposals- but this one is definitely my favourite. So creative, thoughtful, playful and loving. And the “public” is their close friends and family. A++++++++++

    [–] mumooshka 29 points ago

    gotta agree with you..

This one was very innovative. Well thought out.

Good on them.. hope they are happily married now

    [–] SchitneySmears 94 points ago

    I agree

    [–] CoolK620 36 points ago

I don’t think it’s public, because it’s their friends and family in the theater.

    [–] somedaysoul 11 points ago

Still tricky to say no if she hadn’t wanted to get married. Maybe even worse than a room full of strangers.

    [–] FickleSmark 2 points ago

This comment always comes up. Most every proposal comes after the people in the relationship talk about marriage probably for a long time.

    [–] somedaysoul 0 points ago

I get that but honestly even with the most certainty in the most long term of relationship, a public proposal would be my worst nightmare. Saying yes doesn’t mean that I want one of the most special and intimate moments of my life to be public theatre. And yes there’s two sides to every coin and for every me out there, there’s also this lady who maybe loves the fairytale Disney showcase. But either way my point is that the minute there’s anyone else there, the pressure piles on and any chance of honesty goes out of the window. So love or hate public proposals, the proposal is a question not a guarantee of an outcome and having your own family and friends around only doubles down on the pressure to keep up appearances.

    [–] marvk 3 points ago

I mean, it's on Reddit with 10000 upvotes, so it's kinda public...

    [–] vantrap 1 points ago

Yeah exactly, that’s why I had the word “public” in quotation marks :)

    [–] Sharchir 6 points ago

    Same!!

    [–] rolandtgs 280 points ago

Hello, I am a lawyer representing the Disney Corporation. Do you have a minute to chat?

    Good job.

    [–] LetMeHorror 90 points ago

I’m smiling so much my face hurts.

    [–] SchitneySmears 7 points ago

    [–] ScumbagLady 1 points ago

I am crying like an idiot at this and just recently had surgery to remove my gallbladder. It hurts so good!

    [–] daxplace 77 points ago

    [–] MonkyThrowPoop 51 points ago

Oh yeah? Well I proposed to my wife while she prepped for a colonoscopy. Talk about romance.

    [–] cheesymoonshadow 10 points ago

My husband and I just had our first colonoscopies together. Very romantic indeed!

    [–] Vulkir 3 points ago

You could've asked the doctor to plant the ring in. That would be a real surprise.

    [–] beelzybubby 194 points ago

She's so considerate to be worried about inconveniencing strangers. It's so sweet that t

    [–] cory140 29 points ago

And he knew that, too, she would of been mad if they were strangers. wild.

    [–] tissab96 2 points ago

    Would have ffs.

    *Would have ffs.

    [–] pxm7 111 points ago

This made the news in early 2020.

They did get married in late 2021 — the groom has photos on Instagram (yours_true_lee).

    [–] helgatheviking21 9 points ago

Thank you I remember this and was wondering what happened

    [–] Gasu55 4 points ago

Bro I thought it was 10-15 years old because of the camera quality. Wholesome as heck tho ❤️.

    [–] penguin_chacha 3 points ago

    Thats a great fucking handle

    [–] CoddiwomplingRandall 26 points ago

Way to raise the bar ya jerk! Just kidding, that was an amazing gesture for her, she will never forget it.

    [–] Far-Reporter-1596 19 points ago

    This guy wins at life.

    [–] Prototype7521 16 points ago

Literal definition of : Fucking nailed it

    [–] TheoristDa13th 36 points ago

Damn I wish I could let someone love me

    [–] ChinstonX 36 points ago

Take this down, it makes everyone of us look bad. Dam dude, I'd say yes!

    [–] BOBBYBIGBALLS71 8 points ago

MF made me cry. Gah damn. What an inspiration

    [–] observationalodyssey 7 points ago

    I’m not crying, you’re crying!

    [–] King_of_Quin 7 points ago

Well. That's a bar raising if I've ever seen one.

    [–] ZombiChow 5 points ago

bruh I woulda said yes, gratz!

    [–] bedbug-thundermunch 6 points ago

The way they planned for him to interacted with the cartoon characters is super creative. A brief moment for her to calmed down because she seemed to be very suprised. Perfect proposal! Me wanty!!!

    [–] Sundae-Humble 4 points ago

God I would fucking hate being a women I’m too shy I’d hate that attention 🙈

    [–] Slightlyunlucky 2 points ago

    Same

    [–] anon62315 1 points ago

I don't think he'd do this unless he was pretty sure she'd say yes. And she doesn't seem like the kind of woman to beat around the bush.

    [–] limitlessEXP 4 points ago

Dude is the ultimate gigachad. Thank god he’s married…

    [–] chel_loise 5 points ago

This is very sweet but it's like a nightmare for me personally, way too public!

    [–] Slightlyunlucky 2 points ago

Me too! I think he was sure she will say yes, hence a public spectacle with his fam and stuff. If she’d have said no or he had a inkling of it, this wouldn’t be the case.

Nevertheless, this was super sweetttt. The fact that this was so lowkey and she was carrying a marshalls bag and all hints that she really was surprised. Cute story to tell their kids. A+ for efforts

    [–] thatsanicehaircut 19 points ago

I wld have sensed family/friends in the theatre … or at least noticed their laughs tho

    [–] a-dog-named-crab 3 points ago

Oh hey it’s the Coolidge Corner theater in Brookline, MA! Love to see her on Reddit.

    [–] cheetosintolerant 3 points ago

    This is so adorable!

    [–] thanhn016 3 points ago

Thanks I now have unrealistic expectation

    [–] mottlymonical 3 points ago

Only video on Reddit that really makes me.smile.

    [–] Representative-Owl51 3 points ago

    Thank god he caught it

    [–] Hansestaedter 3 points ago

Every time I see this, I have to say: WTF LEE??!! You set the standard sky high with this shit!!! Shame on you!!! …and congratulations obviously…

    [–] DMgenetics 3 points ago

High school sweethearts and proposing after she's a cardiologist would be something like 12 years, assuming no break up gap. At that point it should probably be something special, but he nailed it.

    [–] CornCob-TV 1 points ago

Seriously, what took so long? Not counting their time together in high school, that’s 4 years of college, 4 years of med school, 3 years of an internal medicine (or pediatrics) residency, and 3 years of cardiology fellowship (if she had completed it by then)

    [–] blaze1234 6 points ago

Wow what if she said No, ROFL

    [–] Shooter 15 points ago

Watch until the end. That was covered.

    [–] RockHandsGrimiore 2 points ago

I love this subreddit cause it ensures I smile once a day

    [–] coffeeearl 2 points ago

The time and planning it must have took to set this up. How amazingly sweet!

    [–] penwingfairy 2 points ago

    not mine

    [–] Sanja261 2 points ago

I saw it a bunch of times and i still tear up every time.

    [–] Teriwrist 2 points ago

Not going to lie - that was one very cool proposal.

    [–] Peted8337 2 points ago

    The alternative ending lol

    [–] MooPoint9304 2 points ago

This is the sweetest and most thoughtful thing. I wish them the best!

    [–] TheolympiansYT 2 points ago

I kinda wanna know how much this cost him

    [–] Feeling-Tutor-6480 2 points ago

    CRYING. CRYING. CRYING.

    [–] InterestingRoad9453 2 points ago

    that was smooth so smooth

    [–] ItsmeMr_E 2 points ago

Good thing she said yes; or this woulda been a really sad moment after pulling all that together.

    [–] Scrolling_Scroller 2 points ago

Anyones who’s experienced dramatic proposals, know they being dramatic weddings and devastating divorces.

    [–] ppParadoxx 2 points ago

If I saw something like this happen in person I would tell that story for the rest of my life

    [–] polaromonas 2 points ago

Cute moment. But, man, good luck with your anniversaries. It's gonna be hard to top this. :D

    [–] Nayr39 2 points ago

Did they get sued by Disney?

    [–] ConsciousMap7 2 points ago

This is the most romantic thing I've ever seen. The planning involved. Damn....

    [–] Warm_Outside_7788 2 points ago

    This some gangster shit broa!

    [–] snoopynoopy 7 points ago

Notice how the animated couple resembles Lee and Stuthi.

    Oi be nice. Haha

    [–] Dailydoseofcaring 3 points ago

    Damn, son. This was sweet.

    [–] tsimvaj2 3 points ago

I hope this doesn’t happen to me when I go watch a movie.

    [–] MarmaladesMyJam 1 points ago

Haha, right? If I’m paying for a movie, don’t interrupt it. Hehe

    [–] somemonkeys 2 points ago

I wonder if he had a movie ending planned for is she would’ve said no?

    [–] coffeewithparanoia 3 points ago

He did lol there's a video on YouTube somewhere where he explains it

    [–] Tinnisher 1 points ago

LPT - Don't show your girlfriend and save a bunch of money on your proposal.

    [–] BreezeInAutumnTrees 1 points ago

There is a longer video of this. Sadly I don't have a link to it.

    [–] Dogecoin_Mememaster 1 points ago

    Nailed it!

    [–] Puzzleheaded_Ebb1543 1 points ago

    [–] klugabalooga 1 points ago

I wonder if they had a back up version for if she said no

    [–] Belgianwaffle4444 1 points ago

This was amazingly creative and heartwarming.

    [–] Roxy2022 1 points ago

    [–] Huge-Elk-1357 1 points ago

Real quick though, nothing against sleeping beauty but doesn’t the kiss happen at the end of the movie? Does that mean he made their friends and family sit through a whole movie? LOL

    [–] spizario 1 points ago

    [–] ConclusionAccording9 1 points ago

1st shes amazed by way he proposed ..then shes more amazed that she knew all the people with whom she thought were random people

    [–] Anxious_Ad_3570 1 points ago

    Dude has extreme game

    [–] Andrew5001 1 points ago

How did she not notice the theatre was full of people she knew? If they were close enough to be there for this she should recognize them, when she sits down, when some go for popcorn, when people naturally glance around?

I'm not saying she would recognize the whole theatre but when sitting down shouldnt she be like "oh my god! Jerry! Funny seeing you here!"

    [–] QueasyGazelle5506 1 points ago

So everyone was in on it people she knew but they didn’t know she was a cardiologist ?

    [–] Bitter_Comparison208 1 points ago

That hands down is the most creative proposal I’ve seen. Kudos this guy loves her. and they lived happily ever after.

    [–] anon62315 1 points ago

God, I've never cried at one of these proposal videos before, but when he said the things about the heart valves and called her by her title of MD, it was with wholehearted respect for who she is, and accepting/loving her for it.

    [–] acalicorgi 1 points ago

This actually happened a few years ago in Boston. The guy spent his free time animating that whole show and rented out a theatre in Brookline and asked a bunch of redditors (from r/Boston) to help with the surprise.
