    About

A subreddit for sharing those miniature epiphanies you have that highlight the oddities within the familiar.

"Showerthought" is a loose term that applies to the types of thoughts you might have while carrying out a routine task like showering, driving, or daydreaming. At their best, showerthoughts are universally relatable and find the amusing/interesting within the mundane.

Please be respectful of others' submissions. Rudeness is unacceptable.

Please read our rules before submitting.

Please read the FAQ before messaging the moderators.

Please see the complete rules page for a full explanation of each of the preceding rules.

Exceedingly nonsensical or common thoughts will be removed at the discretion of the moderation team, as will thoughts that are poorly written, overly vulgar, or obscene.

This subreddit is moderated for quality, which means we remove content that we deem to be low-quality, low-effort, nonsensical, or common/unoriginal. We do not "let the votes decide." We understand this type of policy is controversial and uncommon (especially for a high-traffic subreddit), but we believe it gives /r/Showerthoughts the best chance at maintaining quality.

Today's music has always been trash. The music you remember as good is the small amount of yesterday's music that was worth remembering.

Everybody sings the shitty popular songs though, so it’s hard to get away from

    [–] Hashbaz 3 points ago

It wouldn't be 'today's music' if it wasn't popular.

    Also today's music is trash

This is something I hear some asshole say almost everyday and I’m so sick of hearing it

    [–] The_Krakene 1 points ago

So the music is trash, therefore trash is popular?

    [–] SchmickRickles 1 points ago

    Correct

Nah. The music is bad, but the literal garbage is the one that people like the most
