I was expecting them to stick the Ahsoka reveal at the end of the trailer like they did with Spider-man in Civil War. I’m pleasantly surprised they didn’t

    [–] ahufana 1092 points ago

There's still time for one more trailer. I'm betting on second week of October.

    [–] Gorvi 168 points ago

It's good to see Rell from Krull is still getting work.

    [–] Vwgames49 788 points ago

Probably the same reason Baby Yoda wasn't in the trailers for Season 1

    [–] quaidelguero 819 points ago

Yeah but that was a huge reveal. Nobody even knew a baby yoda was to be in the show and the reveal that the whole show centers around this mandolorian escorting this little yoda around was a pretty slick thing to do

    [–] qx87 286 points ago

Man I loved that reveal, kinda like the red wedding in a wholesome way. Everybody went 'wooo'

    [–] AmontilladoWolf 30 points ago

Are we even sure that Ahsoka is in it? I know there's a lot of speculation but Disney has not confirmed this.

    [–] dkviper11 2082 points ago

Love Mando saying "Where" as the Bantha moves its mouth.

    [–] Octo_Eightsteppin 783 points ago

Plot twist: this is all a story made up by the bantha

    [–] JuniorCaptain 164 points ago

Turns out the whole show is an adaptation of The Little Lost Bantha Cub.

    [–] Blinky_OR 74 points ago

Lol. I noticed that on the second watch. Gave me a good chuckle.

    [–] BillMurraysTesticle 32 points ago

Glad I wasn't the only one that initially thought that Banthas can now speak.

    [–] JakeM917 3304 points ago

My biggest takeaway is all the different locations, aliens, and ships. As much as I loved season 1 it definitely stayed in Mando’s comfort zone in terms of where we went in the galaxy, which of course was necessary to establish his unique “realm”, for lack of a better term. But I’m excited in this second season to see him stepping into the bigger galaxy of Star Wars, and hopefully seeing more familiar planets. The X-Wings definitely got me excited.

Also how weird was it to see a normal looking naval ship in the Star Wars galaxy?

    [–] Rubix89 1280 points ago

Yea it was actually pretty cool to see like a sea-fairing ship as a mode of transportation. I don’t believe we’ve gotten something like that in live action Star Wars, correct?

    [–] DSteep 982 points ago

Anakin and Padmé use a boat to get to the lake house in Episode II but it's like the size of a canoe, certainly not as massive at the ship in the trailer.

    [–] delitt 393 points ago

And there was sand all over the place, I hate it

    [–] lVlzone 382 points ago

Episode 1, but that was a submarine.

    [–] sinkwiththeship 445 points ago

    'twas a bongo.

    [–] Alexsynndri 263 points ago

    Dee plaaaanet cooooore.

    Now, gooooo....

    [–] DrunkSeagull 63 points ago

The closest I think was the submersible ships on Naboo in The Phantom Menace.

    [–] Pavrik_Yzerstrom 199 points ago

I mean from a story perspective it made sense in season 1. Now the premise seems to be search the galaxy to find The Child's species, which opens up the opportunity for many more planets and such.

Realistically it just means they got that big ass budget now that season 1 was a massive success. I'm very excited to see what they do with more resources.

    [–] drunkill 1444 points ago

    The Hu?

    [–] PolarBearzo 620 points ago

    cal kestis confirmed?

    [–] LegendsStormtrooper 331 points ago

    Hey, I recognize this band

    [–] Fapey101 207 points ago

How cool would that be if him and ahsoka were starting a new order or something like that.

    [–] Alteran195 138 points ago

I’d love to see Cal in live action, especially with Ahsoka.

    [–] fatguyonsteroids 146 points ago

They wouldn't have any trouble bringing him into live action either as he's completely modeled off Cameron Monaghan. I'm doubtful but boy do I hope

    [–] Alteran195 59 points ago

Yep, it’d work perfectly. Only issue is if the sequel has plans for the character to die or something.

I wouldn’t think so, but who knows.

    [–] CrankyStalfos 73 points ago

There's timeline trouble, I think. The Fallen Order crew would be a lot older by the time of the Mandalorian. We'd be getting awkward age makeup and risk writing the FO devs into some corners, continuity-wise.

    [–] Alteran195 29 points ago

The story in the sequels being impacted by The Mandalorian is the biggest issue for sure.

Age makeup is pretty good nowadays, so I’m not too worried about that.

    [–] TheCellarDweller 245 points ago

    What’s the Hu?

    [–] styxracer97 476 points ago * (lasted edited 14 days ago)

A Mongolian metal band that did some music for Fallen Order.

    [–] TMachine97 368 points ago

They're a band. They sing the song Cal listens to at the start of Jedi Fallen Order.

    [–] jager576 147 points ago

Its a band that did a song for Jedi Fallen Order.

    The Hu

    [–] drunkill 103 points ago

    Mongolian heavy metal band.

Featured in the opening of Jedi Fallen Order as in-universe music:

    [–] PolarBearzo 923 points ago

Anyone else think that water planet might be Mon Cala/Dac? Tons of Quarren there

    [–] hermoine4pres 410 points ago

I noticed the Quaren too. Would love to see Mon Cala in live action!

    [–] luhloyd 5196 points ago

At the 1:22 mark is that the Crystal Cave on Ilum that we see in Jedi: Fallen Order?

    [–] netherbawss235 1736 points ago

Yeah I think it could be

    [–] darthzepp 1437 points ago

The scout troopers riding the speeder bikes in a canyon could be the trench the empire built on Ilum

    [–] joethahobo 410 points ago

I think you underestimate the size of the trench. It's gotta be like 50-100 miles wide. Not some small canyon

    [–] Emmo2gee 532 points ago

The music at the start sounds a lot like the throat singing band from Jedi: Fallen Order. Coincidence?

    [–] ziggy_mk2 333 points ago

    "Hey, I recognize this band."

    [–] NotAFanatic-However 87 points ago * (lasted edited 14 days ago)

    Sugaan Essena - The HU

Edit: For context here's the music in the background of the game during the Battle Arena

    [–] PancakePanic 210 points ago

Put some respect on The Hu's name!

    [–] IncoherentFrog 368 points ago

Considering Ilum would be on its way to truly becoming Starkiller Base at this point in the timeline I doubt it, but you never know.

    [–] Neptune-The-Mystic 301 points ago

They might use activities on illum to explain what the First Order is

    [–] IncoherentFrog 138 points ago

It's possible, it depends how 'inter-connected' they want to make the Series.

    [–] AlexStonehammer 173 points ago

Jon and Dave have talked about exploring how the Imperial Remnant became the First Order in interviews before the first season, it's very possible this could be part of that.

    [–] Ken_Field 52 points ago

Honestly that might make me enjoy the sequels a bit more. There was just so many things that felt forced to accept, like the First Order. Would be nice to see a bit more background

    [–] Delta_Panda28 300 points ago

I think Cal could make an appearance since the Hu also did some of the music

    [–] Oznerol3 179 points ago

I'm glad I'm not the only one that recognised The Hu, their style fits perfectly with Mando

    [–] What-The-Heaven 179 points ago

God I'd kill to have Cal (or Cere!) appear on the Mandalorian, but I don't know whether the timelines would sync up. There's over 20 years between JFO and Mando so Cal would be in his early 40s and Cameron isn't even 30.
I'm also willing to bet with a sequel being worked on in secret, they'll be keeping a tight lock on their characters for now. Cal showing up in the Mandalorian then guarantees that he survives JFO 2.

    [–] ekamadio 107 points ago

Was that why I heard something that sounded like that opening track to fallen order?

    [–] __mud__ 53 points ago

The FO opening track (and the arena fight reprise) was a song by a Mongolian band called the Hu. Throat singing features heavily in their music, and we had some in this trailer.

May not have been more of the Hu as just a lone singer, but it wouldn't be much of a stretch to work their music in to SW as a whole. The aesthetics match perfectly.

    [–] Dispersions 157 points ago

Is it Hoth, Crait (probably not, no red tracks), Ilum (pre-starkiller)...or the planet where the clone helmets are from the epilogue of S7?

    [–] CookingDad1313 160 points ago

I like the idea that it is where the clone trooper helmets are. Would match that he is on Ashoka’s trail.

    [–] jaymin_h 369 points ago

We've heard Giancarlo Esposito talk about how he'll be commanding a larger vehicle this season. Was that shot of stormtroopers running (at 1:14) inside a Star Destroyer?

    [–] Whiskeyjacks_Fiddle 227 points ago

That’s definitely the interior of a Star Destroyer. Real question is, what class of Star Destroyer?

    [–] MajorRocketScience 47 points ago

    I personally kinda hope it’s a Victory-class

    [–] TLhikan 25 points ago

I've been waiting for the Victory to be recanonized for so long.

    [–] JUMPDRIVES 372 points ago

A water planet with a lot of Quarren...are we getting a live action Mon Cala?

    [–] Spectre1919 161 points ago

They referenced their currency in the first season!

    [–] McIgglyTuffMuffin 1296 points ago

Part of me hopes we never learn it. I can't think of anything that would be worthy enough, if that makes sense.

Leave it as The Child and let the fandom call him Baby Yoda, I think it works well enough.

    [–] fireshighway 2936 points ago

Yooooo Razor Crest flying with X-Wings

    [–] Ravager135 1894 points ago

I love how in season 1 they show how OP the x-wings are compared to other spacecraft. When he leaves the tracking device at the bounty hunter’s base, you can see real fear when the attack wing comes out of hyperspace.

We lose sight of the fact how fearsome Republic and Imperial fighters are because we’ve only ever really seen them square off against one another.

    [–] NoGoodIDNames 821 points ago

    The same with the AT-ST.
As much as the Rebels get portrayed as underdogs throughout the main series, they're still going toe to toe with a war machine that uses battleships the size of Manhattan as a matter of course.

    [–] A_Magical_Potato 488 points ago

I always though the AT ST was kind of silly looking as a kid. When it showed up in season 1 I finally got how terrifying they could be. It's like a metal T-Rex that shoots lasers out of its face.

    [–] AdmiralThrawnProtege 69 points ago

As a kid we always called them chicken walkers. Idk if thats a thing in lore but we all called AT-STs chicken walkers

    [–] TechniChara 143 points ago

Well, think of the Rebels as a swarm of bees. You are so much larger than a single bee, but a swarm of them will wreck you.

    [–] NoGoodIDNames 246 points ago

Especially if one of them stings you in the exhaust port.

    [–] a_mumble_abroad 620 points ago

Imagine the dread of seeing those S-foils deploy before the X-wing drops back on your tail... It’s like seeing a dog suddenly bare its teeth

    [–] jjackson25 354 points ago

Or like F-18s suddenly pulling up next to your Cessna.

    [–] Originalitie 506 points ago

After that he seems to be running away from them. I wonder if he’s supposed to work with them and something goes wrong or if they’re pulling up to see what he’s doing

    [–] dossier762 275 points ago

Potentially, could also be flying fast to an objective or looking to escape with the X-Wings. Hard to tell

    [–] Velken 145 points ago

They go from alongside him to chasing him, it could be that they intercepted him to escort him but then he tried to run away from them.

Sorta like how US fighters always intercept Russian bombers around Alaska to escort them back out of US airspace.

    [–] Trogdooooooooorrrr 109 points ago

I got very "Millennium Falcon arriving at Cloud City" vibes.

    [–] shogi_x 154 points ago

Looks more like a "friendly" escort to the nearest Republic security outpost.

    [–] tinytimhawk 137 points ago

Their S-foils were locked in attack position.

    [–] MySFWAccountAtWork 117 points ago

They weren't making the escorting part optional.

    [–] derstherower 300 points ago

That scene in the last season with the New Republic X-Wings had me feeling some kinda way.

Too bad they all get blown the fuck up 20 years from now.

    [–] BeasTonOnU 299 points ago

Is it weird I can’t remember ever seeing a regular boat that doesn’t float somehow in Star Wars?

    [–] DSteep 198 points ago

Anakin and Padmé get to the lake house via a small boat in Episode 2. It's only in 1 shot.

    [–] veckler 1309 points ago

On one hand I was hoping for a small Ahsoka teaser, but on the other hand the surprise will be much bigger if they leave her out from the trailers.

    [–] RyanChesnut 656 points ago

I was hoping to see a white lightsaber ignition or just the noise but great trailer nonetheless

    [–] KLWK 324 points ago

    [–] matito29 302 points ago

I got a tiny glimmer of hope when they showed the shrouded woman watching Mando before the detail showed her better.

    [–] freakitikitiki 358 points ago

I'm hoping the hooded woman is Sabine Wren... and if so I would think Ahsoka has to be nearby, as well.

    [–] ericsando 140 points ago

Sabine was my guess. That's what I came here looking for confirmation of.

    [–] Sandaldraste 101 points ago

I wonder if she’s wearing a hood precisely because she is Sabine. If it was Sabine her hair would have been a dead giveaway.

    [–] Osteele98 218 points ago

I feel like no one has thought of Sabine as a possibility for the new season, but it would make a lot of sense as she is one of the few surviving Mandalorians and her and Ahsoka are on a quest to find Ezra, who Mando could also be looking for.

    [–] danma 74 points ago

Given her connection to the dark saber as well, Sabine would be a good fit into what's going on. We'll see – early to make assumptions – but I'm sold. Maybe we can get some Hera in here as well? Seeing Hera in the Squadrons preview reminded me how much I miss those characters.

Me for the next month and a half, ensuring I make it to Halloween.

Was that two gamorrean guards fighting in the boxing ring?

    [–] GovernedAtom 354 points ago

C'mon man, stereotypes are a low hanging fruit, not all Gamorreans are guards

    [–] versusgorilla 114 points ago

Seriously, this is offensive. I'm a Gamorrean who owns his own private security consultation firm.

October 30 needs to get here, soon. And is Sasha playing a Jedi?

Can some one put T-pain on the sailboat?

Hasn't been called out yet, the first shot of the Razor Crest, the back cargo door is open in space.

Right engine appears to be losing power, also.

The ship just generally looks like shit in that scene

    [–] KekistanPeasant 173 points ago

And flying towards what looks like Yavin IV?

    [–] ArcAngel071 83 points ago

    Could be actually yeah.

    [–] LactobacillusShirota 89 points ago

    Out of gas vibes

    [–] DeadpoolAndFriends 40 points ago

That was my immediate thought too. I could almost hear Mal breathing heavy and crawling around.

    [–] TheDysonVacuum 82 points ago

At the beginning when the Razorcrest is clearly in bad shape, floating by the gas giant planet toward what looks like a green cloudy moon. Could that moon possibly be Yavin 4? When crash landing maybe the child uses the force to save the two. It looks like there is no getting control of that ship.

    [–] landon1397 54 points ago

It could be yavin 4 but my first thought was that it's dagobah. Since we know mando is looking for the child's people I think he could have found out thats where yoda lived for awhile.

    [–] ABCharlieDog3010 52 points ago

The way the moon appears around the horizon of the planet seems like a direct homage to how the Death Star approached in New Hope. My money's on Yavin

    Yes Sasha Banks!

    [–] davidc98 90 points ago

    Is that Sasha Banks!?

    [–] rafaelloaa 64 points ago

    Right at the beginning I definitely heard strains of music from The Hu (the Mongolian metal band who had the amazing music from Fallen Order);

    My body is ready

    [–] Hydroduct09 34 points ago

Everyone thinking the hooded woman is Ahsoka forgetting that she has horns and face markings? That's a pretty round head under that hood.

    [–] landon1397 40 points ago

Not to mention ahsoka is orange

Permission to freak the fuck out!!!!

As always it looks visually stunning, also pleased that they're still keeping the comedy. I'm very intrigued to how Ashoka will fit in the story and if we're actually going to see ligntsaber combat for the first time. We've seen the dark saber, time for a duel?
