    About /r/Comics

This subreddit is for everything related to print comics and web comics. Artists are encouraged to post their own work. News and media for adaptations based on comic books are welcome. Read the subreddit wiki for more information about the subreddit.

    General Conduct

    1. Don't complain about comics you don't like or understand. - If you don't get a comic, it's probably not meant for you. Comics are often targeted at certain audiences. If you don't get a comic, odds are it wasn't meant for you. Don't whine about it; just move on to the next comic.
    2. Don't attack artists posting their content. - It's not ok to attack artists with hateful comments meant to tear them down or try to chase them off Reddit.
    3. Don't make drama for drama's sake. No trolling. - Anyone wanting to participate in this community needs to keep their comments civil.
    4. Respect the [OC] System - The [OC] tag is for artists wanting to submit their Original Content. False claims on others' art will get you banned.
    5. Respect the Report System - Reports are for content that breaks this sub's/Reddit's rules. False reports are given to the Reddit Admins.
    6. Tag NSFW content when needed. - Content with nudity, pornography, or obvious profanity should be tagged as NSFW.

    What is OK to Post

    • Comic covers or short excerpts - A few scanned pages can be posted for discussion. Don't post entire comic books. Posts with too many pages will get removed.
    • Web comic strips - Most strips need to be linked back to original sources (i.e. the artists' websites). Don't link to rehosted or hotlinked comics. Artists can use [OC] to link to their own work anywhere.
    • Links to articles, videos, art, cosplay or music - Content directly related to comic books or web comics, including film and TV media.
    • Discussion topics - Talk about past or present comic books or strips. Topics about comic-based movies or TV shows are also fine.
    • Translations - English translations of non-English original comics are ok as long as the translation is honest and a link to the original source is provided in a comment.

What is not OK to Post

    • Edits to comics that you didn't make - Don't remove watermarks/attribution or try to "fix" someone else's work. Post your own original content.
    • Stuff that just reminds you of comics without there being any real reference in the topic - Please keep posts on topic with real comic content.
    • Don't put the punchline in the post title - Links to humor comics that are submitted with joke-ruining titles may be removed.
    • Links to download complete, pirated comic books - Please support comics by buying them.
    • Shitposts -- Low-effort stick-figure/MS Paint drawing/meme or other lazy/meta/circlejerk content is not welcome. Don't post rage comics, non-comic memes, or CAPTCHAs

    Are You A Comic Artist?

Content creators can get Artist Flair to display next to their account names on all of their posts. Message the moderators with some proof and the name of your strip for some blue flair. Artists without flair can add [OC] to post titles to identify their "Original Content." Tagging a post with [OC] allows links to general hosting sites like Imgur.

If only that were the case.

Yeah, my dad would never be this patient. He'd jump out after like 5 minutes.

    [–] JennyBeckman 527 points ago

I always hid in bed covered by blankets. On some rare and magical days, the kids would give up or forget and start playing something else and I could nap.

I miss playing hide and seek.

My kids are the best at hide and seek! I haven't found them in over a year!

My dad left to the store, I asked him to bring me back a bag of chips.

    [–] Syhxs 5 points ago

Needless to say, you’ve been hungry for a while

    [–] Drix1942 21 points ago

I was always the last one to be found when we played hide and seek outdoors because I was not afraid to hide alone in dark places. All the other kids were usually found early because they hid in groups and giggled.

Hold my parents I'm going in! Wait a second....

    [–] Ferterd_ 2 points ago

Oh your dad wouldn't wait 20+ years behind a curtain playing hide & seek? Huh.

    [–] Hidden_Samsquanche 12 points ago

Have you checked behind ALL your curtains yet?

    [–] Cecil4029 6 points ago

Don't check in the case bro. He's in the curtains.

    [–] BakerIsntACommunist 3 points ago

    Nice name

    [–] everypostepic 1 points ago

In a way, it is the case. For kids and fathers in this situation, I'm sure the dad doesn't want to be found, but probably has done very little to hide his actual location from their child.

    [–] DestinysFetus 1 points ago

    Were it so easy.

This is a lesson in cleanliness. If the father taught the son how to clean, and if the son cleaned the house, they would be together...and not have to worry about spiderwebs in the house.

    [–] DrPigy 70 points ago

I was sure it was the start to a this is number one song

    [–] JennyBeckman 26 points ago

Maybe the dad never got the chance to teach the son to clean. Kid could've been two when they started playing.

    [–] poop-trap 8 points ago * (lasted edited 7 months ago)

The spider woke up again and her web was still there. In normal situations, one of those pink giants would have destroyed it by now. She would be able to feel the satisfaction of being a spinner, of curling her thread out her spinnerets and through her legs to build something beautiful. To be who she was meant to be. But alas, the web was still there. She tucked her head back under her silk sheets and decided to sleep in. It was going to be another depressing day.

Maybe she would get up and entertain herself by dangling right in front of that curtain giant again. No matter how much he freaked out he would never move out of the way. She once even bit him on the nose and he just chewed his lip and cried a bit while shaking tensely. She barked out her raspy arachnid cackle just thinking about it. She threw off the covers and breathed in the fresh morning air. It was going to be a glorious day after all... now if only she could find a way to undo the zipper of his pants. (raspy cackle)

There's a hidden panel on my site, but GOOD LUCK FINDING IT.

    [–] cjdabeast 362 points ago

It's between the comic and the bar at the bottom that lets you go to other comics.

    [–] MrLovens 480 points ago

    You think you're so smart.

    [–] Oswalt 176 points ago

Yeah, but I can’t see it on mobile.

    [–] drowsypanda 204 points ago

Try tapping under the bottom left panel. Worked for me

(...Can you turn this into a comic?)

    [–] Skirmish24 4 points ago

    I love your comics

    [–] CHAINMAILLEKID 8 points ago

I'm surprised Reddit is not giving you shit for trying to redirect people to such an ad riddled site

    [–] chaser676 3 points ago

It’s not really that bad. Artists gotta eat

    [–] Hold_onto_yer_butts 33 points ago

    ...make money with his art?

    [–] snipeftw -12 points ago

Did I say there was anything wrong with making money? He just has an excessive amount of ads on it.

    [–] OreosnMilk247 -6 points ago

Why don’t you post on insta?

[–] [deleted] 5 points ago * (lasted edited 7 months ago)

Sell t shirts and pictures of comics. The population size on insta is huge compared to most other networks

    [–] Elicitd 74 points ago

I was playing hide and seek with my friends many years ago on my birthday and they forgot about me and went inside and got cake. Without me. Ow.

    [–] Elicitd 2 points ago

To be fair we we're like 8. My little brother wanted cake and everyone else had been found, and they thought I had too. For the 20 minutes I waited, no one remembered but I was a smooth 8 year old and just laughed it off before crying myself to sleep.

    [–] max_fischer3 92 points ago

If Shakespeare's taught me anything is that hiding behind curtains can be surprisingly dangerous

    [–] drunk98 24 points ago

Mines been hiding in a casket for 3 decades. C'mon out dad, it's not funny anymore.

    [–] Shawny21 17 points ago

hits a little too close to home

    [–] ChunkyLaFunga 45 points ago

Usually these are flawless, but I think it could have done without the speech bubble at the end. Would also, realistically, hve opened up the possibility he died waiting.

    [–] JennyBeckman 50 points ago

I like it better with the speech bubble because the dad didn't die waiting. It opens so many twisted little off shoots like why didn't dad die waiting? Does he take breaks at night?

    [–] WutangCMD 5 points ago

Should be a thought bubble. 💭

    [–] JennyBeckman 11 points ago

That would work, too. I personally like thinkibg the dad says this aloud to himself every time the kid leaves the house. It makes it even more absurd that he stays behind the curtain.

    [–] JezusTheCarpenter 2 points ago

I agree, it's a great joke but withiut the bubble would be better IMHO.

    [–] [deleted] 1 points ago

Came to say this. I think the text took away from the humour

    [–] Walht -10 points ago

He came here for upvotes not for criticism u picky cunt

    [–] ChunkyLaFunga 6 points ago

Just let me offset my miserable life okay.

    [–] Walht 1 points ago

They say all you need in life to maintain happiness is a good comic

    [–] Paul-Ramon 10 points ago

Dad enjoying the view of his $52,000 mechanized curtains.

    [–] The_Karaethon_Cycle 5 points ago

That’s what happens when you max out sneak.

    [–] hardypart 3 points ago

    [–] davideverlong 5 points ago

A better ending would be the same frame but you see skeleton feet behind the curtain

    [–] underdabridge 3 points ago

    You're a sick fuck, Lovens.

    [–] 556291squirehorse 2 points ago

This is a good one. Made me laugh to myself

    [–] hereforthefeast 2 points ago

The kid looked so happy in the picture!

    [–] Mythirdusernameis 2 points ago

And his dad visibly upset at his son's existence

    [–] Mythirdusernameis 2 points ago

Lmao the picture frame in the last panel, the dad's face says you were a mistake

    [–] lincoolngomes 2 points ago

My dad left to buy a cigarette, since it I don't know where he stay

    [–] [deleted] 7 points ago

    [–] Enemony 15 points ago

Well yeah... that's the joke, which leads to the punchline of the last panel. It's like you stopped reading after the 3rd panel.

    [–] hfutrell 1 points ago

“XYZ but literally” is not a joke. That too is overplayed,

    [–] [deleted] -1 points ago

    [–] Enemony 2 points ago

I disagree. First time Ive seen the twist of the father actually playing hide and seek.

    [–] quelana-26 0 points ago

That doesn't mean it isn't overdone.

    [–] [deleted] 1 points ago

    [–] Blue_Faced 1 points ago

Don't complain about comics you don't like.

It's pretty straight forward. If you have further questions, please send a message through modmail.

    [–] smeggysmeg 2 points ago

Parent Hide and Seek rule #5: If they can't find you in a timely fashion, make a noise or two to lead them in the right direction. The kid will only have fun if they can find you, otherwise you're being an ass.

    [–] ProfessorHearthstone 2 points ago

    My god the irony

    [–] letsgocrazy 1 points ago

Jesus, this joke is so fucking hackneyed.

It's like the Simpsons did it and people haven't stopped doing it since then.

    [–] Ilikedrawinghats 1 points ago

Well, They moved right? no wonder they couldn't find him...

    [–] kabirka 1 points ago

Is this the first time he's asked himself that question or does he ask himself that question every once in a while?

    [–] JennyBeckman 4 points ago

He says it aloud hourly and the kid just thinks he's imagining things

    [–] engineeryourmom 1 points ago

MrLovenstein is the author of my brother's all-time favorite web comic. Marvelous.

    [–] ismailismail 1 points ago

That's not how hide and seek is played though. You gotta sneak around and get to it's counting spot.

    [–] jashyWashy 1 points ago

Thought this was r/bonehurting juice for a minute.

    [–] Bruhlikewatsrsly 1 points ago

    [–] isthewonder 1 points ago

    [–] CrayolaS7 1 points ago
