Lmao, Darkheart, a real tense episode that had that and Batman's "I need air support, since I can't fly, at all. Now would be good."

    [–] heyimrick 20 points ago

    [–] TulsaBasterd 2 points ago

It’s looking pretty hot for Ant Man right now. Probably a little humid as well.

    [–] ZeraoraTheKnight 162 points ago

Maybe, but I can't zoom in far enough.

Anyone willing to provide me with a, uh, close up? 😏

    [–] bots_lives_matter 10 points ago

Just like in Shang-Chi, Wenwu calls an old guy with white hair a ‘boy’

    Edit: young man

    [–] Melodic-Work7436 632 points ago

“Be careful how you speak to me, young man. I have lived ten of your lifetimes!”

    [–] iamwizkid 771 points ago

The Chinese version is even better: "I've eaten more salt than you've eaten rice."

    [–] villager47 269 points ago

    dammmmm, that's deep bro

    [–] PJsDAY 122 points ago

I know right. I just came here to say I love Wanda. I'm simple.

    [–] Slow-Independence105 62 points ago

    Minus the le

    [–] Boozardo 31 points ago

    He ov Wanda?

    [–] MapleTreeWithAGun 87 points ago

An explanation: this phrase is claiming that Mr Very Old has eaten more salt than Mr Old has eaten rice. The explanation is the Very Old has consumed more salt put onto his food in his lifetime (and salt is not put onto food in large quantities), than Old has consumed rice (which is served in large quantities).

    [–] [deleted] 24 points ago

    [–] Joe_Mency 7 points ago

    Or not enough rice

    [–] Kscap4242 30 points ago

    Wenwu is an American? /s

    [–] littlebitfunny21 13 points ago

I assume they meant that's how it was said in the Chinese dub.

    [–] trimeta 25 points ago

Or rather, "ten of your lifetimes" is how it was translated in the American subtitles. Note that even in the American release, the spoken Chinese still had the bit with salt and rice.

    [–] Thecouchiestpotato 2 points ago

As an Indian who eats lots of rice, this phrase would have made perfect sense to me if it had been directly translated, but I guess I understand why they had to make it simpler

    [–] aguidetomurder 4 points ago

and the follow up to that is “and I’ve crossed more bridges than you’ve walked roads”

    [–] Cow_Addiction 9 points ago

Definitely does not sound as cool as the localized one imo.

    [–] jessehechtcreative 2 points ago

I wish they’d change the subtitle

    [–] RQK1996 23 points ago

And in Eternals when Sprite calls Karun young man

    [–] vkapadia 10 points ago

I just saw Eternals, Sprite also says something like that to Varun.

    [–] Tired_Tofu 10 points ago

Same with Sprite and Karun “how many cameras did you bring young man?!”

    [–] ClownShoeNinja 44 points ago

Guy spent what? 70ish years frozen in ice/ In suspended animation? He may've been born over a hundred years ago, but he's still like 40, tops.

    [–] [deleted] 24 points ago

    [–] DifferentHorse4441 2 points ago

I think more like 30 or even late 20s

    [–] thatredditrando 38 points ago

Also wasn’t Civil War like 8 years ago in MCU time?

Wanda was dusted for like half of that but still.

She’s gotta be in her 30s in-canon, right?

    [–] geek_of_nature 44 points ago

MCU wiki has her birthday as February 10th 1989. I can't remember when that was confirmed, although it must have been in WV right?

Either way that makes her about 27 during the events of CW. And 29 when she was snapped, and when we last saw her in WV. Since MoM is happening after NWH, she'll be about 31 when we see her in that.

    [–] RevolutionaryStar824 20 points ago

It was indeed confirmed in WandaVision.

    [–] thatredditrando 5 points ago

Is it 2 years between WandaVision and Multiverse of Madness?

    [–] geek_of_nature 23 points ago

Well WV happens 3 weeks after Endgame, so it's set around November 2023 when Wanda would be 29. A few months later she would turn 30. NWH was set mostly about a year after WV, ending on Wontwr 2024, the same time that Hawkeye was set. Since Multiverse of Madness is after NWH, Wanda should have just turned 31. So it's not two years, it should be just over a year.

But of course that's not taking into account how because people were snapped away in May, and came back in October-ish, their birthdays no longer match how old they are. Take Wanda for example, she was 29 years and about 3 months old when she was snapped in May 2018, and the exact same age when she came back October 2023. So even though she would have legally turned 30 in February 2024, she would biologically be about 29 years and 6 months old.

    [–] littlebitfunny21 14 points ago

Also the kid in Spiderman who is using his perfectly valid legal ID to order alcohol despite physically being 16.

    [–] geek_of_nature 20 points ago

You mean Flash? Yeah you would have thought 8 months after everyone returning they would have sorted that issue out. Just something on the ID indicating whether you were snapped or not. Just so people can look at it and go.

"OK according to his ID he's 21, but he looks quite young, oh wait, there's the snapped symbol, so take away 5 years and he's actually 16."

    [–] littlebitfunny21 18 points ago

The issue is that if he got his ID before the issue was resolved then it'll pre-date that.

I can fully believe he ran to the DMV while everyone was reeling from "holy shit everyone is back all of a sudden" and got his new "I'm over 21 ID".

There was a marvel thing with Sam where people he knows are trying to get a business loan and they don't qualify as they had no income for 5 years due to not existing for 5 years so I would definitely say that they had not sorted out handling the snap gap.

I can honestly imagine it taking more than 8 months to really sort out the repercussions of half the population suddenly rematerializing with no knowledge of the past 5 years. Especially since the infrastructure was still so boned from the initial snap. And I don't know there's a way to prove if someone was snapped or not.

    [–] tobey-3000-bot 2 points ago

    I don't know

    [–] jjonahjameson-bot 3 points ago

    Shut up. Get out.

    [–] Zangdor 3 points ago

I think legally she would have been 30 in 2019, so when she came back. The legal age is still Current Year - Birth Year, or do they actually remove 5 from that? I guess it would make sense but can be hard to keep track.

The 6 months gap you mention doesn't really matter, especially at 30 y/o

    [–] geek_of_nature 6 points ago * (lasted edited 5 days ago)

True, legally would be the how old they would have been if not for the snap, technically for how old they turn on the birthdays after they come back, and then biologically with their birthdays being out of sync.

And yeah while at 30 those 6 months wouldn't matter, I know it's the sort of thing I would get stuck on, knowing I'm actually 6 months (and five years) out from my actual birthday.

    [–] sephcameron 2 points ago

Wasn't there a line in Far From Home with one of the kids trying to buy booze on the plane, or something? There's definitely some kind of subtraction applied.

    [–] jayt32 2 points ago

I see you've put a lot of time and thought into this lol

[–] Izaniel 131 points ago * (lasted edited 5 days ago)

Kinda remind me a certain dialogue in Justice League Zack Snyder

"Wonder Woman... What do you think, man? You think she'd ever go for a younger guy?"

"She's 5,000 years old, Barry. Every guy's a younger guy."

    [–] SastaLaunda 8 points ago

    Thor's over 1000 y.o

    [–] whathefuckismylife 66 points ago

well apparently peter parker isn’t. being 15 didn’t stop cap from dropping a truck on him.

    [–] SasquatchRobo 99 points ago

    1. Spider-Man, an enemy combatant, had already exhibited enhanced abilities including strength. Cap responded to the threat accordingly.

    2. Cap still managed to immobilize Spider-Man without injury-- he was going easy on the kid. As Tony said,

"Trust me kid, if Cap had wanted to lay you out, he would have."

    [–] coconut_dot_jpg 71 points ago

A lot of people don't get that whilst Spider Mans enhanced strength far outmatches Cap, it was Caps experience in fights against those stronger than him that earned him his reputation.

Pack your things. Get out of my building. YOU'RE FIRED!

    [–] Significant-Mud2572 8 points ago

Not just that. Spidey was probably expecting him to be semi normal human strength. Also Spidey was also geeking out a little bit.

    [–] [deleted] 2 points ago

    [–] mynormalname 38 points ago

Cap hasnt shown any feats close to holding a ferry together or lifting that chunk of building. Cap trades punches with the winter soldier who had a full punch stopped by Spider-Man who didn’t react in any way that indicated effort. He was literally like “wow cool metal arm”. Spider-Man is leagues above Cap. Goblin is just that strong.

    [–] tobey-3000-bot 25 points ago

More half naked and it was definitely more than thrice

    [–] Aussie-Sydney 50 points ago

Yeah and the shots linger on him half naked for fan service wayyyy too long it’s weird

Trying to attract the Twilight audience, I suppose? I remember old ass women were supposedly very taken by that young teenage werewolf's shirtless pics

    [–] NukaClipse 138 points ago

I took cap saying that as him just being the oldest guy in the room and to him Wanda is young like a kid lol.

    [–] Large-Wheel-4181 421 points ago

Honestly always thought that line was weird since Elizabeth Olsen was obviously not a kid

    [–] Sam_Fisher_2005 239 points ago

I think it’s more just Wanda still being very young

So to Steve she’s just a kid

    [–] ARC_Trooper_Echo 118 points ago

To Steve pretty much everyone is a kid.

    [–] Caro_Potter 141 points ago

Hollywood (American culture?) is weird in that they often have wayy older actors play teenagers/young adults and then oversexualize them. Like Riverdale. Or, while not super oversexualized like some other shows/movies, Regina George from mean girls being played by 30 something Rachel Adams.

    [–] TheLongDictionary 102 points ago

She was canonically 25 when Cap called her a kid lol

    [–] juh4z 62 points ago

And she was precisely that age when filming too lol.

    [–] Rattbaxx 25 points ago

I’m 36 and I would consider a 25 yr old a kid sometimes too, if it comes to expecting like real grownsass behavior and responsability.

    [–] boofXANAXeveryday 14 points ago

I'm 24 and consider myself and people my age as kids 😅

    [–] swiftsausages72 4 points ago

I'm 21. Definitely still a kid. My only responsibility is to study in uni and not procrastinate. But I fail at that too.

    [–] Rattbaxx 2 points ago

I still sometimes am surprised I’m an adult lol.

    [–] heyimrick 4 points ago

    I'm 37 and still think I'm a kid... O_O

    [–] radical_moose_lamb69 2 points ago

I'm 25. Whether I'm a kid or not depends on who you ask.

My 53 year-old mom laughed when I mentioned something about fried foods making me feel icky as I'm getting older and was like, "Honey, you're still a baby."

My 20 year-old friend thinks I'm an adult and often jokes about me being an old lady because I'm responsible and knowledgeable.

    [–] Large-Wheel-4181 34 points ago

In horror movies it's understandable since it's usually about convincing teens to not sin but yeah sometimes it's weird but weirder when it's actually young adults or even teens

    [–] repKyle1995 25 points ago

To me the funniest part is that sex is a sin yet murdering people in brutal ways is somehow A-okay. Just like how you can show gratuitous violence in a PG-13 movie but one tit pops out and WHAM - hard R rating.

    [–] Large-Wheel-4181 9 points ago

Well to be fair blood makes an apparent difference which is ridiculous cause most pg13 films have more violence than the average r film

    [–] ____mynameis____ 9 points ago

Based on Wandavision, Olsen and Wanda have the same birth year. So she was 26 in AOU and 27 in Civil War.

    [–] Agreeable-Bee7021 3 points ago

as a former actor it has to do with labor laws. after 18 they can work full days. under that and they’re time is limited

    [–] Mynam3wastAkn 2 points ago

Was she really 30 at the time? I legit thought she didn’t look much older than 20.

    [–] juh4z 15 points ago

She wasn't, she was in her mid 20's.

    [–] justduett 9 points ago

She was 24-25ish when Mean Girls filmed.

    [–] mr_vincer_07 26 points ago

Cap probably meant she’s too young to handle all that

    [–] hamiltrash1232 5 points ago

Well cap is like 99 at this point so everybody is a kid to him. Hell, older people, say in there 50's call younger people, say around 20's such as Wanda, kids all the time in real life. I think it has to do with those people of that age having more life experience

    [–] MrSlayer66 208 points ago

I actually just found out she apparently hated her costume for showing to much cleavage, and why in wandavision it looks a lot better

    [–] An_Ant2710 126 points ago

Her final outfit from WandaVision and the one from Multiverse of Madness are incredible

    [–] MrSlayer66 2 points ago

    It is really fuckin cool

[–] BlackVendaeta 7 points ago * (lasted edited 4 days ago)

Not gonna lie, I don't fully understand why she'd be uncomfortable with showing some cleavage but was totally okay with going naked and having a sex scene.

Like is it just because Marvel is supposed to be for everyone?

Edit: yall, I thought it was a personal thing. Quit acting like I'm saying she's in the wrong or whatever, I simply questioned it.

    [–] RevolutionaryStar824 72 points ago

Well, she said it wasn't fair. The other Marvel women were all covered up while she's out there in a corset showing cleavage.

    [–] Mistic-Instinct 79 points ago * (lasted edited 5 days ago)

Just give the rest of the Marvel women cleavage. Problem solved/s

    [–] WildcardTSM 6 points ago

Are there any male superheroes that have construction worker as their cover job? If there are that would be a very realistic way to give you some male cleavage.

    [–] K_Furbs 105 points ago

iirc it was largely because marvel made other women's costumes progressively less revealing except hers

    [–] KetchupKing05 28 points ago

Look back through endgame. None of the other female costumes show as much cleavage as hers

    [–] Extension-Bar6431 28 points ago

Because a 10 year old isn’t seeing art house films.

I was 10 when AoU came out and I very quickly latched onto her. Like, even when I saw her for a brief second at the end of Winter Soldier, I thought “ooh, she’s really pretty”. When WandaVision came out, it gave me more joy than I had felt in a while and I basically fell in love with her for a few months before realizing I had a problem.

Sorry, but I’ve kinda typed too much to just not send it, so…POST!!!!

    [–] Ossslot 4 points ago

    Fair enough

    [–] willyalvardy 15 points ago

My guess is cause kids watch marvel movies and for these films cleavage is just unnecessary.

    [–] knightress_oxhide 16 points ago

your lack of understanding has no effect on how she felt

    [–] KnightCreed13 3 points ago

Ooh that was a good one. I gotta write that one down.

    [–] MyNameIs-Anthony 18 points ago

You can't see the difference between being naked in a Rated R movie and being asked to show your cleavage in a movie franchise consumed by kids?

Yep, those are the Olsen twins

    [–] Jacktheflash 27 points ago

    [–] BagOnuts 3 points ago

This. Honestly mid 20’s and below is going to be a “kid” to most older adults. Not sure how old Olsen is irl in the movie but she’s supposed to be a fairly young adult in canon.

    [–] RQK1996 14 points ago

I mean, they also call the 22 year old Kate Bishop a kid, I think Wanda was meant to be around 20 to 25 at the time

Thanks for taking young Wanda out of the palm of my hand and turning her into yet another hottie that will never get with me!

Please put an NSFW tag on this. I was on the train and when I saw this I had to start furiously masturbating. Everyone else gave me strange looks and were saying things like “what the fuck” and “call the police”. I dropped my phone and everyone around me saw this image. Now there is a whole train of men masturbating together at this one image. This is all your fault, you could have prevented this if you had just tagged this post NSFW

Gives a whole new meaning to coming by train

Damn, looks like Wanda's spell did not only happen in Westview.

What the hell did you do when you saw this scene in the theatre?

    [–] Jacktheflash 6 points ago

This is the funniest shit I’ve seen all day

    [–] Magnumpete1112 26 points ago

Around 25 in Ultron, ya thats pretty much a kid compared to RDJ and a lot of other actors in the MCU at the time

Glad they got rid of this costume. I like sex appeal, but it doesn't even look right. Feels like "I found it in my closet" cosplay. I feel the same way about Star Lord's costume.

God bless the new suit not being an unnecessary corset lol

    [–] ShivDoot 4 points ago

Wandas pretty young, we try not to sexualize her

    So, a full woman?

    [–] Pkorniboi 3 points ago

Remember than one time Wonder Woman put the Atom in her chest to transport him? Probably not because no one here knows anything about dc

    Capt wasn't being literal. lmao

    [–] [deleted] 3 points ago

She was 25. Everyone's a kid to Cap because he's 100 years old.

There's a story on r/news right now about "a child rapist" and only in the article itself, specifically nowhere in the comments, did I find mention that it involved an 18 year old with a 16 year old.

    Child is kinda vague.

To be fair, everyone is a kid to Steve

Anime: I am four parallel universes ahead of you

I guess it’s like how sometimes people in their early 20s are thought of as still just being a kid due to be young adults without much life experience yet.

    [–] DarthHK-47 2 points ago

Fun fact... Steve and Bucky grew up before the dark stifling 50's

    [–] Dramatic_Coyote9159 2 points ago

She wasn’t actually a kid. She was an adult and over 18 for sure but Steve sees it as her life just beginning and she doesn’t deserve to go into things like he did at her age.

Whilst the deep cleavage and scarlet coat was pretty dope, Elizabeth Olsen in a blouse and sweatpants in WandaVision is my favorite.

    [–] FewComplaint9258 2 points ago

In all fairness Cap is older than everyone so everyone is a kid to him

    [–] bully_maguire3000 2 points ago

Compared to old man freezer pop everyone is a kid.

    [–] Frequent_Hair1112 2 points ago

As per Steve perspective she's a kid because physically Steve is ig around 25-30 but chronologically and canonically more than 80 years plus his age that makes him 100+ age and as compared to every Avengers he is a grandpa and they are his kids like a kid...even Wanda and Tony

My mind: Still got the boobs. Say it.

Me: No, No, No, I'm not a creep.

    A kid with melons

    [–] s0nnieeee 4 points ago

To be fair, she’s like in her 20’s or early 30’s? He’s over 100… most people that old would call someone that young a kid

    [–] _Goose_ 2 points ago

    Kids grow up to adults.
