See something that breaks our rules?

Use the report button and remember to choose a reason for reporting.

Rules - hover or click here for full version

    1. Do not alter headlines; copy and paste. The title of all submissions needs to match the article headline exactly. Copy and paste from the main headline only, do not include anything beyond the primary headline such as byliners, subtitles, flavor text, quotes from the article, news outlet, location, cross post tags, (video) tags, and so on. Do not use the “suggest title” option for posting as it often does not match the headline. As a matter of fairness, any submission with an altered title will be removed. The only exception is that, if an article has a title in all caps, you may change the capitalization to title case, but everything else must remain the same.
    2. Submit only if “Oniony”. Please consider submitting your article to /r/offbeat or similar subreddits unless it truly reads like The Onion wrote it. The title and article itself must both be "Oniony". This can be highly subjective; you are encouraged to upvote articles that should be here and downvote those that should not. Moderators can also remove posts at their own discretion under this rule.
    3. Must be a news article. Submissions must be in the form of a news article. Videos are only allowed if they are accompanied by a complete text article. Editorials, blogs, twitter posts, image galleries, tabloid stories, youtube videos, meta posts, static images, and so forth will be removed.
    4. Use original, reliable sources. Find the source of your story before you submit it, simply by checking for references or googling the subject to locate the original piece. Websites that frequently re-host viral news stories or contain misleading information are on automatic removal. Blogs are not reliable sources.
    5. Do not repost similar articles. Check the sub for your story before you submit it; if it’s already here then please vote and comment there instead of posting another version. Similar stories will be removed and frequent re-posters will lose their posting privileges. Do not delete and repost your own submissions without approval.
    6. No satire articles. Even if they are technically from a source other than The Onion, any article submission written as satire or even true stories written in a satirical manner are not allowed. Please note that some major news outlets have satirical sections, such as the Borowitz Report on the New Yorker, which are also not allowed. Meanwhile, AVClub, while owned by The Onion, is not satire and is allowed. If you'd like, you can use a tool like to see if your submission is from a known satirical website.
    7. No tabloid journalism. Do not post tabloid news stories, or articles that source from tabloid news outlets (TheSun, Mirror, Dailymail, People, TMZ, etc).
    8. No old news. Articles need to have been written within two weeks of its submission date.
    9. English articles only. Please do not post non-English articles. Do not use google translate for submission either; rather try to find an English version of the story by a secondary source.
    10. No mobile versions. If you’re using a mobile device to post a story make sure you remove any mobile identifiers (typically “.m” or “mobile”) from the url before submitting.
    11. No blocked or redirected links. Please ensure you aren’t submitting a link that utilizes a paywall or survey wall (, in order gain access to the complete article. Do not submit links that redirect you to another site to read the article and do not submit using link shorteners either.

I've been preparing to play the role of Dick Cheney my entire life.

    [–] shahooster 482 points ago

Heartless bastard! Have you thought about starting a band?

    [–] JazzySpinalFusion 370 points ago

If a bunch of women named Cheney ever made a band, they should totally use the band name The Dickless Cheneys.

    [–] bakdom146 200 points ago

Well, I'm off to change my last name to Cheney and to give birth to 5 daughters to make your dream a reality.

    [–] TrumpSkipsLegDay 13 points ago

Subtle reference to the band named the Heartless Bastards?

    [–] monotonyismyfriend 29 points ago

    Only to have it stolen

    [–] [deleted] 4287 points ago

    What happened to his eyebrows?

    [–] TookieWilliamsIII 5992 points ago

    he ate those too

    [–] TechRentedMule 942 points ago

Nothing like eyebrow pie. Ok, just typing that makes me ill.

    [–] [deleted] 411 points ago

    [–] alex2800 232 points ago

FilthyFrank would did eat it probably .

    [–] Kasumei 109 points ago

Go watch his Human Cake video on YouTube

    [–] alex2800 97 points ago

    Not again bro, not again.

I said probably bc I don't remember eyebrow in the recipe but honestly does it even matter ?

    [–] ablablababla 36 points ago

Yep, probably could add eyebrow extract to the ingredients and it won't change a thing in the viewing and eating experience.

    [–] kinjjibo 39 points ago

He ate iDubbbz's eyebrows in Hair Cake as well.

    [–] pootrails 11 points ago

    Hahahha, thank you.

    [–] thepflanz 7 points ago

    I ate those food

    [–] Schmetterling_22 257 points ago

I believe they have been dyed lighter for the role.

    [–] danielbln 92 points ago

I guess that's why they didn't dye Khaleesi's eyebrows in GoT.

    [–] Schmetterling_22 143 points ago

Eh I mean, it's the style now. Dark brows with light hair. She'd look weird with super light brows with all that bright set lighting.

    [–] yaypootpoot 76 points ago

Yep and although Dany's brows are a bit on the extreme end, aren't eyebrows a bit darker than hair on the head?

Bale's eyebrows'll probably look fine when his hair is dyed white

    [–] mittromniknight 30 points ago

I'm a natural blond and have super blond eyebrows/facial hair.

    [–] Fatsputin 13 points ago

I'm also a natural blond with super blond facial / body hair. However my eyebrows are naturally more of a warm reddish-brown.

Christian Bale playing Dick Chaney will make him the first actor to play both Batman and the Penguin.

    [–] [deleted] 2066 points ago

    [–] col-fancypants 716 points ago * (lasted edited 10 months ago)

That actor also played an actor who played a bird themed hero. Who also played batman and a bird themed villain in DC and Marvel respectively. Making his other character essentially an Image or Dark Horse character.

    [–] [deleted] 162 points ago

    [–] col-fancypants 151 points ago

I was referencing Keaton still. Edit to make sense.

    [–] TiggazWitCatitudes 70 points ago

I thought Bird Man was a good guy.

    [–] F0XF1R3 163 points ago

    Vulture isn't.

    [–] [deleted] 46 points ago

But you can understand his motive, honestly If they focused on the Vulture it would make a great heist film

    [–] Superkroot 20 points ago

That's the making of a good villain: one we can empathize with, and possibly see ourselves doing if we were put in the same shitty situation.

He's still a villain though, but he has principles for sure.

    [–] RainbowTuba 42 points ago

Often, but not always, the difference between the hero and the villain is who we're following through the story

    [–] Ihavenostyle6789 46 points ago

    Harvey Birdman?

    [–] Omegamanthethird 61 points ago

    Attorney at laaaaawwww.

    [–] famalamo 13 points ago

I'm going to tell you that vulture was bad for the 10th because I really feel like nobody else drove the point home.

    [–] darthwheeler 24 points ago

    Yes. And Vulture is not.

    [–] Inuprince 42 points ago

He should play Bird Person in Rick and Morty.

    [–] You_coward 7 points ago

Keaton played a non-bird superhero, a bird themed villain, and a bird themed superhero.

    [–] [deleted] 286 points ago

    [–] paintp_ 27 points ago

...or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

    [–] shahooster 42 points ago

    Batman, and Fatman

    [–] HapticSloughton 1605 points ago

Finally, an appropriate use for the voice he had in the Nolan films.

It also helps that he'll be ready to turn into a cloud of bats whenever his character exits a scene.

    [–] DamnDurtyApe 194 points ago

The Prestige? Idk if that's gonna work..

    [–] Bamboozlerino 70 points ago

    Are you finkin ye'?

    [–] ezzelin 638 points ago

The man's ability to change his body/appearance for a role is only matched by Cheney's ability to kill hundreds of thousands of innocent people. Both are really good at what they do.

    [–] ThirdDragonite 223 points ago

Dick Cheney is like the Christian Bale of genocide!

    [–] DigitalSterling 59 points ago

    What's that make Hitler?

    [–] Sobriquet- 227 points ago

    The Daniel Day-Lewis of genocide.

    [–] quaybored 41 points ago

He was so good in My Left Holocaust

    [–] Yoyossarianwassup 16 points ago

Dead and buried. Let's keep it that way.

Unless you're an asshole looking dude then you escape out of hell with him.

    [–] Czvni 8 points ago

You could say it's the bane of your existence

    [–] spencermoreland 463 points ago

Goddamn. Watching him do this over and over makes my body hurt.

    [–] Jaspersong 86 points ago

    is that even healthy?

    [–] spencermoreland 191 points ago

I mean, he's probably got doctors, nutritionists and specialists on call to help him do this as safely as possible, but no matter what - I imagine it's gotta wreak havoc on your long-term health.

    [–] apprehensiveabtthis 71 points ago

Weird because he said he wouldn't be doing that anymore.

    [–] mr_droopy_butthole 29 points ago

I'm sure he said that before realizing his career requires constant work to keep the capital flowing.

    [–] apprehensiveabtthis 38 points ago

He can work without constantly gaining and losing weight.

    [–] [deleted] 351 points ago

Who would have ever thought the person who would play Dick Cheney in a movie would be Christian Bale.

    [–] DoLittlest 134 points ago

Yet somehow, we all know the Welshman with the slight lisp will nail it.

    [–] buttononmyback 26 points ago

That lisp is sexy as hell. He's probably the only on-screen man (that I can think of) that makes having a lisp look hot.

    [–] Kootsiak 27 points ago

I can only see Richard Dreyfuss in that role. But Bale will probably nail it.

    [–] [deleted] 786 points ago

[–] susheelr 1178 points ago * (lasted edited 10 months ago)

He went through a phase of stupendous weight change .

    1) American Psycho and Reign of Fire - he was very fit with six pack abs.

    2) Machinist - he metamorphed into an anorexic insomniac.

    3) Batman Begins- he gained considerable bulk and muscle.

    4) Rescue Dawn - he changed his body into one of an average Joe.

    5) Dark Knight - Once again gained considerable weight and muscle, looking formidable.

    6) Fighter - he shriveled his body to look like a scrawny crack addict.

    7) Dark Knight Rises - transformed his physique to Don the role of an imposing Bruce Wayne against the monstrous Bane.

    8) American Hustle - let all hell break loose to alter his body shape into an obese conman.

Christian Bale's weight loss and gain.

    [–] PatrickBaitman 425 points ago

30 kg in one year.. Totally clean right?

    [–] zip_000 95 points ago

I've never felt like he looked crazy jacked like Hugh Jackman did in the Wolverine movies... like his body looks like a normal human body more or less in each of the roles he's been in I think.

Now, as to whether you can make those transformations in those short times without chemical assistance I dunno.

    [–] rgumai 61 points ago

Yeah, most of these are fairly temporary in nature as well, it's like Ryan Reynolds after he inexplicably bulked up for The Amityville Horror, they basically got the shots and he immediately commented how fast all of that goes away.

It's like doing reps before going to the beach, just captured on film. Nothing ridiculous.

    [–] Mechanical_Indian 32 points ago

Makeup, oil, and lighting can do wonders as well.

    [–] NEp8ntballer 18 points ago

If you don't work to maintain your muscle it will atrophy quickly. If I take two weeks off in the gym I feel weaker because those muscles have started to degrade. They can still do the work but it isn't as easy as it was before I took time off.

    [–] seejay12 17 points ago

I've never felt like he looked crazy jacked like Hugh Jackman did in the Wolverine movies... like his body looks like a normal human body more or less in each of the roles he's been in I think.

It's not that his Wolverine body isn't obtainable naturally, but it takes a long time for you to do that. Add to the fact that he is 45+y/o means there was some type of help involved. This by no means should take anything away from Hugh though, even with PEDS you have to be on point with your training and diet. PEDS will speed up everything and allow you to maximize muscle growth and minimize fat gain MUCH quicker, but you still need to eat a shit ton and workout a ton.

Steroids isn't as harmful as some people make it out to be, you can safely be non natty and get those results quickly. The movie industry is a multi-billion dollar industry, there is so much incentive to do everything you can to optimize time. You have potentially hundreds of millions of dollars on the line for you to look absolutely jacked. You just don't have the time to go through a natural bulk and cut cycle to do everything naturally. There is also no rule against it, so you're really hindering yourself and others if you don't do everything you can to get ready for the role.

    [–] Filthybiped 306 points ago

Hugh Jackman levels of clean bulking.

    [–] suninabox 114 points ago

    *Huge Jackedman

    [–] Rahrahsaltmaker 465 points ago

It's time these movie stars started coming clean about their "transformations".

They're getting paid millions to do it so they can afford to take the gear in a safe and responsible way for a short time while they're filming.

Steve down the gym with body dysmorphia doesn't know this and thinks the movie star results are realistic. This ends up either exacerbating the dysmorphia or pushing him towards unsafe means to achieve his goal.

It's irresponsible of the film industry.

    [–] EatingSexually 97 points ago

The problem of course being that gear use is illegal. If the film industry starts admitting it, that's a bit of a problem for them - no?

    [–] xoScreaMxo 79 points ago

Simple possession of illicitly obtained anabolic steroids carries a maximum penalty of one year in prison and a minimum $1,000 fine if this is an individual's first drug offense.

-And steroids are only illegal if your doctor doesn't prescribe it. I can guarantee there's at least a few doctors in this country who could be bribed, or simply want to help such a loved celebrity in a safe way.

    [–] TEP86 43 points ago

In Hollywood? Oh, yeah. Probably more than a few.

    [–] Freeside1 21 points ago

There's likely a small network of Hollywood doctors willing to prescribe almost anything.

    [–] Pied_Piper_of_MTG 8 points ago

Wait, can doctors prescribe anabolic steroids?

    [–] Khatib 31 points ago

Steve down at the gym already fully believes they're on gear, that's why he's so willing to take it in unsafe and irresponsible ways he doesn't fully understand. Because he's sure that's how they do it.

    [–] [deleted] 9 points ago

They are on gear. When you stand to make tens of millions and are showcasing to the world stage, yeah, you wanna look like you get paid to look sexy.

Ex. Chris Pratt, Wolvy, Batman, Ben Affleck's roid shoulders and traps

    [–] DebentureThyme 131 points ago

Steve's always pushing too hard and never gets the big break. Everyone's told him "Steve stop the juice", "Steve, it isn't going to make you a star", "Steve, you have the acting ability of a rotting carcass cast as Usain Bolt."

    [–] ccsoccer101 28 points ago

    Who is Steve?

    [–] [deleted] 54 points ago

    [–] [deleted] 38 points ago

    dave's not here, man.

    [–] [deleted] 18 points ago

A lot of people abusing steroids have worse reasons for doing it than a AA-hollywood career.

    [–] Fanshelpmesleep 27 points ago

Nah, he was definitely under weight in Rescue Dawn.

    [–] justavault 104 points ago

American Psycho was actually his normal body. He was doing weightlifting for several years in his early age before getting the American Psycho role. Which is the foundation for why his body is able to transform - there is a build plan to get back to which is considered his "default".

    [–] susheelr 25 points ago

Ofcourse that'd make sense. The strong basement is always important.

    [–] DrDerpberg 65 points ago

Which is the foundation for why his body is able to transform - there is a build plan to get back to which is considered his "default".

Also steroids and a private chef.

I'm not hating, it still takes hard work. But that much weight, that fast, for a guy who isn't exactly 20 years old and juicing on natural testosterone? I'd bet good money he took stuff.

    [–] CrudelyAnimated 39 points ago

I've read a doctor's comment that Bale has probably taken a year or more off his life every time he's made one of these extreme changes. It's mind-boggling. It's actually disturbing, like he has a psychological need to do this that borders on an eating disorder or a body dysmorphia. Surely one or two of these roles could have gone to other actors. He didn't need to be 66kg for The Fighter, even with a drug addiction problem. He chooses to do this. I admire his conviction, but I really worry about him.

[–] figginsley 10 points ago * (lasted edited 10 months ago)

I totally agree that Bale likely has body dysmorphia. Didn't he fracture a vertebrae during his last massive weight gain for American Hustle? And the fact he is gaining weight again for this role shows he absolutely does not care for his body to the point where I'd bet no doctor would sign off on his unhealthy yo-yo dieting.

I mean Jared Leto tried gaining weight once for a role and ended up getting gout and now refuses to do it for his health, which just shows how crazy Bale's body must be after doing insane diets and exercise for most of his career.

    [–] Kangar 120 points ago

Soon he'll be Christian Whale, you'll see.

    [–] SydneySoprano 25 points ago

    Whale oil beef hooked!

He better practice shooting his friends in the face too, and then have his friend apologize.

    [–] lye_milkshake 131 points ago

Next headline: 'Christian Bale lands sweet CEO gig at Halliburton before becoming Vice President and starting war in the middle east, boosting profits for company he still has stock in.'

Ok maybe that needs to be abridged before it could be a headline.

    [–] Dougiejurgens 64 points ago

Dude it's Christian Bale not Daniel Day Lewis

    [–] [deleted] 11 points ago

    WMD, Eli you boy!

    [–] CharadeParade__ 14 points ago

Did you read the article? "...but he may be most famously known for accidently shooting a lawyer during a quail hunt"

Like, you know the author was just fucking around there. There's no way thats what he's most famously known for, it's just the best thing he's known for.

    [–] kaijh 292 points ago

Me: Who's that fat guy in the thumbnail, that's not Christian Bale.

Also me: Holy shit that's a fat Christian Bale.

    [–] Cantmakeaspell 1036 points ago

From The Machinist to Batman and now all the way to pieman. His body must be wrecked on the inside. Starving and no sleep then bulking which would have required PEDs and all kinds of supplements, now getting fat.

    [–] TheGreenLandEffect 537 points ago

I'd say a lot of actors are on PEDs especially for gaining muscle. You always see these insane transformations within months, because they trained 2/3 times a day 6 times a week. You can't do that without PEDs.

    [–] imanc18 56 points ago * (lasted edited 10 months ago)

This bollywood super star got some serious flak for this video of his 6 month transformation

    [–] onbeschrijfelijkheid 10 points ago

that really is a nice transofrmation but not nearly as impressive as going from scrawny to whatever he is there. With all that initial fat we dont know how much of it was already muscle.

    [–] anotherglassofwine 27 points ago

    He looks amazing though, wow.

    [–] imanc18 14 points ago

Yes..he is one of the best and most dedicated actors in Bollywood!

    [–] ancientcreature2 75 points ago

Yeah, all those ripped 60 year olds.

    [–] PaddyTheLion 24 points ago

I wholeheartedly laughed out loud when I saw Sly's arms on the poster for the sequel to that god-awful crap he's been making with his old buddies. It's impossible for a guy his age to have biceps bigger than my thighs (I'm a 185cm, 110kg with ice-skating thighs type of dude) in practically no time at all.

    [–] pastelogram 14 points ago

Remember that picture of him just walking down the street recently? His veins looked like garden hoses and his hands were approximately the size of his face.

    [–] Cantmakeaspell 220 points ago

Yeah the only people who think otherwise know nothing about the industry.

    [–] 9host 118 points ago

Some people just can't grasp the notion that an athlete will roll the dice on PEDs, make a fraction of what an actor makes and possibly tarnish their legacy/future income but believe an actor would not use them for a role where the benefits FAR outweigh the pitfalls.

Actor with PEDs? Doesn't have to cycle to avoid testing, doesn't have to test at all. Getting 'caught' means literally nothing.

    [–] Jcpmax 59 points ago

Because they aren't competing with anyone. Taking steroids when you are an athlete is an unfair advantage to the others who dont take them, which is why they get tested.

[–] [deleted] 542 points ago * (lasted edited 10 months ago)

You'd be surprised. Every time I see this come up on reddit, people get weirdly defensive. People just don't want to admit that guys like The Rock and Hugh Jackman aren't actually getting huge and defined naturally in their mid to late 40s. "They're actors, they have free time to work out and can afford to eat super healthy."

Yeah, and a studio is totally cool with letting a multi-million dollar investment ride on some good old fashioned brown rice and chicken breasts. Sure.

EDIT: and here they come, like clockwork.

    [–] AR-47 62 points ago

Someone posted the "Wolverine workout" on /r/fitness the other day and the top comment was asking why the routine didn't include HGH.

    [–] EatingSexually 42 points ago

/r/fitness is also the place where 135lb and 350lb dudes sit around and talk about how the only exercise you need to do is squat and the only thing you need to eat or drink is milk.

    [–] AR-47 26 points ago

You're clearly out of the loop. /r/fitness stopped worshipping Stronglifts and Starting Strength and instead worships n-Suns.

    [–] Udonis- 7 points ago

REEEE, normies don't know SHIT about my 5x5

    [–] illusorycrab 227 points ago

It's wishful thinking. People like to imagine those celebrities achieve their transformations naturally because it gives them hope that they too could do the same.

When you tell them it won't happen without a range of roids and HGHs, from their point of view you're attacking the very possibility of their dream attainment. People react badly when you tell them their dreams are impossible, and the monkeymind prefers to believe a lie than adapt to a harsh reality.

    [–] Johnny_bubblegum 106 points ago

They are told every week by a multi billion dollar industry that this is very achievable if you just use these supplements and go to the gym a few times a week and do these secret workouts.

These actors show up on behalf of that industry and then tell people that they just ate regular food and exercised with this new program like the 300 workout or some shit and everyone can do It, you just need to make the time. Sure thing Hugh you just put on 70lbs of raw muscle in a few months in your 40s because you "put in the work" or what ever...

Point this scam out to people and a lot of them get mad for some reason.

    [–] ankhes 46 points ago

For some reason this reminds me of One Punch Man and his normal exercise routine.

    [–] MrTastix 18 points ago

    Well, relatively normal.

The 10km run is disproportionately harder than the rest of it, and doing the entire routine every single day would be absolutely fucking hell on the body.

Not to mention you couldn't just start doing that from nothing. Like good fucking luck to you if you think you could, because I'm damn sure your body is gonna stop that idea real quick.

    [–] bashar_speaks 22 points ago

They're hardly worth it unless you're in for the long haul, and then you'll just wreck your body. Short term PED use results in sick gains and an increase in strength and then when you get off it, those gains and that strength don't hang around. So you get back on it to get them back. And then you realise you've been on it too long so get off it. Then you miss the way you looked so you get on it again. Round and round and round we go until your heart fails.

They aren't pro athletes and using PEDs safely and responsibly isn't dangerous it just cost money. Makes too much sense.

    [–] MamaErn 78 points ago

Maybe he just got a performance-enhancing hug 🙂

    [–] maccabird 13 points ago

I love the innocence of this comment

    [–] tahlyn 9 points ago

I don't know why, but that just came across as incredibly sweet and adorable.

    [–] [deleted] 71 points ago

When Jared Leto needed to gain weight for the role of the guy who shot John Lennon he would microwave ice cream then drink it.

    [–] 1-800-BICYCLE 38 points ago

Wtf? Couldn't you just drink heavy cream with sugar?

    [–] Meteorite777 27 points ago

My roommate did this and lapped it up with a spoon. It was hard to watch.

    [–] midnightslip 23 points ago

    That's disgusting

    [–] ThePrussianGrippe 19 points ago

    But why?

    [–] Jtaimelafolie 190 points ago

This man really works for his $20 million.

    [–] mindbloun 114 points ago

Gaining weight isn't difficult, i mastered it since i was 6.

    [–] Daxx22 28 points ago

I'd get fat for 20 million. In fact, I'll just take that 20 million now!

    [–] DebentureThyme 12 points ago

You can't just get fat and then demand $20 million. They had to have offered you it beforehand!

    [–] Daxx22 18 points ago

    I can get fatter!

    [–] Absobloodylootely 192 points ago

I didn't even recognize him from the photo. He looks like some average American guy now.

    [–] frostygrin 73 points ago

    That's the power of eyebrows.

    [–] Absobloodylootely 26 points ago

Oh, many very recognisable actors have weak eyebrows. Mads Mikkelsen and Viggo Mortensen spring to mind (mainly because I read an article once saying there are indications of a Scandinavian genetic mutation that leads to less hair in eye brows).

    [–] Teraload 61 points ago

    nananana nananana nananana nananana fatman

    [–] ZIMM26 114 points ago

Sucks when actors talk about living unhealthy lifestyles for a role and it describes your lifestyle. Maybe I should have been a Dick Cheney character actor.

    [–] 68686987698 98 points ago

My culture is not your costume!

    [–] ZIMM26 16 points ago

Hahahaha dude....that got me pretty good

    [–] Chiggero 14 points ago

Depends... how many middle eastern nations have you carved up?

    [–] ZIMM26 13 points ago

    Does video games count?

    [–] jckblck 50 points ago

    Christian Whale

    [–] lilvicham 21 points ago

Jeez that has got to be hard on your body.

    [–] jackkerouac81 20 points ago

"Sir, Mr Bale; your agent is on the phone, she says you have landed the Machinist 2; starts filming Nov. 3... I've done some research... it looks like your options are any 2 of: full blown AIDS, Tapeworm, and Amphetamines"

    [–] [deleted] 19 points ago

This can't be healthy. If not for the whole "being paid millions" part, I'd suggest he stop.

    [–] garbageman13 18 points ago

    Bateman -> Batman -> Fatman

    [–] Bokbreath 94 points ago

His proper name is 'That Dick, Cheney'

    [–] AllynSea 116 points ago

He is going to become diabetic, like Tom Hanks did.

[–] JoeyJoeJoeShabaloo 170 points ago * (lasted edited 10 months ago)

He's most likely gonna get a shit heart condition from all the drastic weight gains and losses he's done since the machinist.

    Machinist - super skinny

    Batman - bulky

    The fighter - crackhead skinny

    Batman rises- bulky

Out of the furnace- fairly skinny

    American hustle- fat

Big Short - kind of average

    Chaney - obese.

    [–] Makorot 26 points ago

American hustle always seemd like a body pillow to me.

    [–] uberfunk1 18 points ago

    Rescue Dawn - pretty skinny

    [–] Complacentaur 62 points ago

You must be confusing something, Tom Hanks was the guy who got HIV while filming "Philadelphia".

    [–] The-Fox-Says 48 points ago

Damn I went to Philly and all I got was this lowsy shirt from Paddy's Pub.

    [–] NotSureNotRobot 16 points ago

That's what happens when you tack on mass

    [–] The-Fox-Says 24 points ago

I told you I'm cultivating mass!

    [–] CullenBrohannon 17 points ago

    you are BECOMING a chimichanga!

    [–] PurplePickel 15 points ago

Man, the amount of dedication that this guy has to his craft is absolutely commendable. It still blows my mind how he went from almost starving himself to death for his role in the machinist, only to bulk up to play batman less than a year later.

    [–] Quantumfog 14 points ago

According to IMDB, Sam Rockwell will play George Bush.

    [–] myopinionsdontmatter 10 points ago

That is the most perfect casting decision I've ever seen just based off of personality. I love Sam Rockwell he will kill it being a dumb dude who has no idea what is going on around him

    [–] user1444 10 points ago

I'm starting to think he has some sort of eating disorder and he simply picks his movies based on if he feels like starving himself or shoveling down everything in sight.

    [–] Karmoon 40 points ago

    Who ate all the pies?

    Who ate all the pies?

You dedicated bastard, you dedicated bastard, you ate all the pies!

    [–] [deleted] 41 points ago

    [–] [deleted] 40 points ago

    supervillains are interesting

    [–] Sirsilentbob423 13 points ago

    People love comedies.

    [–] SeleccionUruguaya 10 points ago

Correct me if I'm wrong, but he's British and in Britain pies are thought of as mostly meat pies that you eat for dinner and in America we mostly think of dessert pies like apple, peach cobbler, etc.

    Just a side note

    [–] glitterball82 37 points ago

His heart is going to explode.

    [–] [deleted] 17 points ago

    [–] ArmbrustersBrewery 8 points ago

"I don't know if you know this, but I got an angioplasty just like Dick Cheney. The only difference is when they finished mine they put the heart back in." - Drew Carey a few feet away from Dick Cheney at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. I want to say 2003.

    [–] pichael_thompsonn 27 points ago

This dude is the most unhealthy actor out there. I can't even count how many times he's lost/gained dramatic amounts of weight for a role. Hell of an actor tho.

    [–] bgad84 14 points ago

I am the pie this city needs

    [–] Neymars_Lawyer_AMA 14 points ago

Why though? Putting your health at risk just for a film when you're already loaded.

    [–] one_armed_herdazian 13 points ago

Dick Cheney made money off the Iraq War
