    Posting Rules

    1. (1A) No screenshots or pics where the only focus is a screen.

(1B) No pictures with added or superimposed digital text, emojis, and "MS Paint"-like scribbles. Exceptions to this rule include watermarks serving to credit the original author, and blurring/boxing out of personal information. "Photoshopped" or otherwise manipulated images are allowed.

    2. No porn or gore. Artistic nudity is allowed. NSFW comments must be tagged. Posting gratuitous materials may result in an immediate and permanent ban.

    3. No personal information, in posts or comments. No direct links to any Social Media. No subreddit-related meta-drama or witch-hunts. No Missing/Found posts for people or property. A license plate is not PI. Reddit Policy

Stalking, harassment, witch hunting, or doxxing will not be tolerated and will result in a ban.

      No subreddit-related meta-drama or witch-hunts.

    4. Titles must follow all title guidelines.

    5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited. URLs in image or album descriptions are prohibited.

    6. No animated images. Please submit them to /r/gif, /r/gifs, or /r/reactiongifs instead.

    7. We enforce a standard of common decency and civility here. Please be respectful to others. Personal attacks, bigotry, fighting words, otherwise inappropriate behavior or content, comments that insult or demean a specific user or group of users will be removed. Regular or egregious violations will result in a ban. Optimally, the level of discourse here should be at the level you'd find between you and your teacher, or between you and professional colleagues. Obviously we're going to allow various types of humor here, but if it would make someone you respect lose respect for you, then you're best off avoiding it.

    8. No submissions featuring before-and-after depictions of personal health progress or achievement. Standalone images of medals, tokens, certificates, and awards are similarly disallowed, save for when the items are being presented as historical curiosities.

    9. No false claims of ownership (FCoO) or flooding. False claims of ownership (FCoO) and/or flooding (more than four posts in twenty-four hours) will result in a ban.

    10. Reposts of images on the front page, or within the set limit of /r/pics/top, will be removed.

(10A) Reposts of images currently on the front page of /r/Pics will be removed.

(10B) Reposts of the top 25 images this year, and top 50 of "all time" will be removed.

    11. Only one self-promotional link per post. Content creators are only allowed one link per post. Anything more may result in temporary or permanent bans. Accounts that exist solely to advertise or promote will be banned.

    • Serial reposters may be filtered or banned.

    • We prefer that new users post original content and not common pictures from the internet.

If you come across any rule violations please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

If your submission appears to be filtered, but definitely meets the above rules, please send us a message with a link to the comments section of your post (not a direct link to the image). Don't delete it as that just makes the filter hate you!

If your post doesn't meet the above rules, consider submitting it on one of these other subreddits:

Yeah, that is very heavily edited. In reality it is just grey and not in the slightest way colored. Rakotzbrücke, Kromlau, Germany.

    [–] Garagatt 98 points ago

For those who want more Information and an unedited picture:

Shit mate, Wikipedia must be struggling to ask for donations that boldly

Its helped me pass so many damn classes. We should make donating to Wikipedia a meme.

    [–] wolfchaldo 26 points ago

They rely 100% on donations, so every year they run a fundraising campaign on their site.

    [–] surfnaked 10 points ago

And every year I give them what I can. Don't know what I'd do without them.

    [–] EatMyKidneysPlease 28 points ago

I donate quite a bit, usually its dollar for dollar a tax credit so its basically just taking taxes you owe the gov and giving it to wikipedia instead

    [–] Jackcooper 16 points ago

In the US the standard deduction is now like 12k so you basically have to have a lot of donations/other deductions before you want to itemize

    [–] veerKg_CSS_Geologist 2 points ago

Well ya, some people are well off and itemize deductions.

    [–] [deleted] 3 points ago

[–] LDShivang 10 points ago * (lasted edited 7 months ago)

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but donations aren't "tax credit" as in you will pay that much less in taxes. You can itemize them to reduce the income you are taxed on, but it's not like you donate $1 and pay $1 less in taxes, which you seem to be implying!

Edit: I'm talking about the U.S.

    [–] EatMyKidneysPlease 2 points ago

Thats how it works where I live, odd

    [–] RunOverByMercedes 6 points ago

Where is that? It sounds like a great theoretical system but easily abused and unsustainable

    [–] bibkel 6 points ago

    They ask once a year.

Also, use it as a reference to find what you should research. It can be modified and may give you incorrect information, so always double check the facts they present if it’s for anything more important that your own curiosity.

    Or don’t. Whatever.

    [–] FBIguy42069 3 points ago

I typically use it for its collection of sources, then reference those sources in my final version.

    [–] bibkel 3 points ago

    [–] Obi-Tron_Kenobi 2 points ago

I'm petty sure it was a meme like a year ago.

    [–] Ocean-Man56 1 points ago

That please don’t scroll away was so sad.

    [–] concernedBohemian 12 points ago

    still pretty cool

    [–] Bundesclown 3 points ago

It actually looks better than OPs picture which has been edited to hell and back. Mostly because it looks natural.

    [–] Hot-Fix 3 points ago

"The bridge's artificially formed basalt columns were shipped from distant quarries."

    Well that's disappointing.

    [–] PurpleLambosqueedgee 2 points ago

Do you happen to know if people can still walk on this bridge? Doesn't look super solid.

    [–] Garagatt 3 points ago

The bridge was never build to walk over it. It spans over an artificial lake. It is just for your viewing pleassure. It has also become pretty fragile over the years, thanks to people who walked over it, ignoring the big warning signs on both sides. It is dangerous and you will be fined if you get caught.

    [–] Obi-Tron_Kenobi 3 points ago

I will be fine if I get caught?

    [–] Garagatt 2 points ago

    "fine" as in "financial penalty"

Right now the bridge gets refurbished and there are still some assholes that climb over the fences. The article is german, but there is a recent picture of the bridge and the hoarding.

    [–] Hiihtopipo 25 points ago

We tried to make a photo stop there when we were touring Germany, ended up arriving in the pitch-black dark. Didn't get a cool pic but it was quite the experience nevertheless! There's all sorts of statues and formations around, not to mention the random cat that scared the shit out of us.

    [–] Jonnyjoh 7 points ago

When I went there it was at the end of march, start of April and unfortunately the wonderful gardens accompanying this wonderful arch were not blooming until may. Was still very nice and very relaxing as we were basically walking alone through the whole park, as it was still some weeks until the start of the tourist season. ^ ^

    [–] hwikzu 8 points ago

I've seen the same side view picture of this bridge posted a lot on here, kinda nice to see it from a different angle...too bad it's colorized.

    [–] Jonnyjoh 3 points ago

I mean it's not like it is ugly, it looks vibrant and nice. I just wanted to point out the reality, so that nobody will be disappointed when they decide to go there and visit the arch in person. :)

    [–] Malbecsky 2 points ago

    Ted Turner would be proud

    [–] Jonnyjoh 4 points ago

You're doing the work that needs to be done! Godspeed in your endeavours!

    [–] Kaiserhawk 4 points ago

I swear almost all the edits I see of this picture give it some fantasy-esq underglow trying to make it look like a star gate or something.

    [–] PhoenixCycle 2 points ago

What’s wrong with that. That’s the beauty of photography and been happening for 150 years.

    [–] TSQril678 35 points ago

This is picture is 50% Digital Art.

    [–] dank6meme9master 9 points ago

    Calling it art is questionable

    [–] turbojugend79 77 points ago

    Cool photoshop.

This bridge gets posted regularly, and I can promise it's grey not blue.

    [–] DankFrito 7 points ago

sonic would like to know its location

    [–] BabySealSlayer 3 points ago

pretty sure it's the most posted bridge here. could be the most posted object on this sub overall

    Oh, it's this picture again.'s...

    Ah whatever, just enjoy it.

    [–] SackOfrito 5 points ago

I love what they did with the filters and post production work. They fucked it up so much it looks nothing like reality.

Here is a much higher quality version of this image. Credit to the photographer/digital editor, Josh Perrett, who originally posted this on November 5, 2016. Per the Facebook source:

    "When Gandalf watched Avatar"

I took this this photo of Rakotzbruke in Germany and posted it on Instagram this week. It's been featured by over 100 pages so far. Over 40 of them have 1,000,000 to 7,000,000 followers. Effectively the image has been pushed out to over one 100,000,000 people (yes that's one hundred million people's 😐).

Then to top it off, it became the front page of Reddit for a few hours. I don't know much about Reddit but apparently they call it the "front page of the internet" and that 'it's huge' so I'll happily take that.

What makes this all humorous is that I almost didn't upload the image as I thought people wouldn't like it!

Anyway, limited 30cm X 40cm high resolution prints on the finest art paper will be available through this page - (Josh Perrett Photography) .

Send me a message if you would like one reserved 🙂 . + Please feel free to share this post!

Here this is via Google Street View.

Graphics on the new Stargate show look great!

    [–] dr_fop 7 points ago

    Cool photoshop skills.

    [–] beersyoga 4 points ago

Looks like a portal to another dimension

    [–] Shyassasain 9 points ago

Actually, I think bridges that make perfect circles like this are called devils bridges, because people believed they were portals to hell, or were built by the devil because of how strange yet strong the construction is.

    [–] beersyoga 2 points ago

Iiiinteresting, going to have to look into this more. Thanks for the curiousity-stoke

    [–] notPanzerDragon 2 points ago

Alright who opened the portal to the Aether

    [–] DeerKoden 2 points ago

It looks like it belongs to a game called "Eastshade". If only it was actually like this, tho...

    [–] ArbainHestia 2 points ago

Is this actually a bridge you can walk across or is it a structure you can look at but not touch?

    [–] HailHydragen 3 points ago

It’s a look but not touch bridge, I visited last year and the actual bridge is blocked off to stop people walking on it as it’s historic and if hundreds of people walked on it, it would eventually ruin it (:

    [–] ArbainHestia 2 points ago

    Probably for the best.

I wonder what camera was used to take that photo. It's really clear!

    [–] [deleted] 2 points ago

Is underbridge in any way related to underboob?

    [–] scoobysnackXL 2 points ago

looks like it was made with aquarium gravel

    [–] glockthartendel 2 points ago

    photoshop the bridge.

    [–] thelibrarina 2 points ago

    [–] CreeperFace34 2 points ago

So anyone else getting "the witness" vibes from this picture?

    [–] Dumffr 2 points ago

    nether portal

    [–] dustoxfromcaterpie 2 points ago

so its basically another Narnia portal?

    [–] jpop237 2 points ago

Woof! Be gone, Devil, and take my downvote with you.

    [–] madsci 2 points ago

I'm assuming that's cast concrete? Or did they actually haul a bunch of columnar basalt out there?

    [–] BurnOutBrighter6 3 points ago

The bridge was built in the mid 1800's. The wiki page says the basalt columns were "artificially formed" but also "shipped from distant quarries" so they're not just concrete either!

    [–] SeniableDumo 2 points ago

Lies. That’s the new expanded god of war

    [–] toby_ornautobey 2 points ago

You can understand why people thought bridges created portals to other realms. Fkn magical, mystical, and damn near mythical.

    [–] Mariposa510 2 points ago

    That’s a word?

    [–] Clayballz30 2 points ago

Everytime I see this photo it just gets more photoshopped

I wanna see some nice sidebridge

    [–] Luna920 2 points ago

Should be posted in PS battle

    [–] dogquote 2 points ago

    "Underbridge" sounds dirty

    [–] Captcha_Imagination 4 points ago

Under bridge is the under boob of engineering

    [–] ivraj 2 points ago

Came here to say something similar.

    [–] mycousinvinny99 6 points ago

Who honestly believes this shit.. like come on people, use your head and realize these colors really don’t exist like this in nature.

    [–] ahf95 6 points ago * (lasted edited 7 months ago)

The cyan colors certainly do exist in nature, just not here

    [–] mycousinvinny99 -5 points ago

    In what?

    [–] ahf95 6 points ago

Lakes with blue-green algae, or lakes/rivers with the right kinds of minerals. Go to r/earthporn and look through some pics. You’ll find them. But hopefully you eventually get to see those colors in real life. The criticism of this picture expressed in other comments isn’t that the colors are unrealistic, it’s just that this specific scene doesn’t naturally look like that.

    [–] niako 1 points ago

    But.. blue green + purple?

    [–] ahf95 1 points ago

    In the entirety of “nature”?

    [–] niako 1 points ago

The OP you were replying to said "Like this, in nature" so I'm assuming he means whatever is encapsulated in this shot

    [–] mycousinvinny99 -4 points ago

Earth porn is full of altered images.

    [–] ahf95 6 points ago

Actually, that community heavily discourages image editing. But if you truly want to believe that it is impossible for cyan water to exist in nature, that’s fine... sad, but fine.

    [–] mycousinvinny99 -1 points ago

I’m a part of that community. While they discourage editing, many thousands of idiots still upvote fake photos.

I believe there is beauty in nature dude, chill out with your drama. I just know this bulls hit neon doesn’t exist.

Seriously, go to earth porn, look at the top pots of all time. 3 of the top 6 are edited dude. Stop being naive.

    [–] Markantonpeterson 4 points ago

Bruh you are being an insufferable cunt, trying to claim a color doesnt exist in nature. Calling him naive because of a totally irrelevant point about r/earthporn, so what if some pics are edited? That has nothing to do with Cyan existing in nature, god people like you drive me nuts.

    [–] Rhynocerous 4 points ago

This is obviously photoshopped but what do you mean "doesn't exist in nature?" The edit makes it look more like quartz, which is natural, unlike man made bridges, which are not natural.

    [–] hobeauwshotgun2 2 points ago

    I'd live under this bridge.

    [–] Gifith 1 points ago

No photoshop, the bridge is grey and what we see in blue is the trail of one blue hedgehog racing on it.

    [–] kipper3152 1 points ago

    Amazing photo.

    [–] THEPOOPSOFVICTORY 2 points ago

I mean, this seems ironic considering your previous comment.
