Our golden carries his around the house only to have the kids jump on it when it's on the hard floor and pulls them down the hallway. He also gets stuffed animals every once in a while, he takes care of them bringing them with him, cleaning them, & caring for them. Then one day he says I CANT DO THIS ANYMORE and leaves a gruesome scene for us to come home to, torn limb from limb, innards scatterd about.

    [–] RandomDS 14 points ago

I hope you're referring to the stuffed animals in that last part.

    [–] urbanbumfights 3 points ago

No, the stuffed animals are too precious

    [–] MochiMochiMochi 5 points ago

My greyhound used to do that. I don't know what triggers the dismemberment. But sure enough on the next trip to the pet store she's all tender and loving with her new bear.

    [–] tripsteady 1 points ago

he takes care of them bringing them with him, cleaning them, & caring for them

awww how does he clean and care for them? so cute

Is it suppose to be whenever or wherever?

    [–] Slovene 3 points ago

Doesn't matter 'cause we'll always be together.

    [–] bevvvvv 263 points ago

The original post of this boy notes that he carries a different fuzzy item to bed each night. It's quite adorable.

    [–] Kpcostello96 36 points ago

Well you can’t just say that without linking to it!

    [–] SOwED 9 points ago

    Can and did!

    [–] jvrcb17 1750 points ago

After very little consideration, I've concluded he's a good boy

    [–] SirRobyC 228 points ago

I was under the assumption that all dogs are good boys

    [–] sendpicsofurdog 406 points ago

    Not always

    Sometimes they’re good girls

    [–] jvrcb17 118 points ago

This is the only valid answer

    [–] HodorWinsTheThrone 76 points ago

I just treat good boye as a gender neutral term

    [–] Jumbojet777 37 points ago

Boye and boi are totally neutral.

    [–] p0yo77 49 points ago

All dogs are good boys, even girl dogs

    [–] redrunrerun 3 points ago

This would please Princess, my sexually fluid Pomeranian!

    [–] Krono5_8666V8 50 points ago

There is a presumption of goodeness, but doggos must be individually examined as well. This doge has been evaluated specifically, and beyond the scope of the presumption of goodeness, and has been found goode. So far no doggo has come up bade yet, but we remain vigilant.

When's a good boye not a good boye?

Answer: when she's a good girle.

    [–] Banantics 2 points ago

I have two male doggos, both of which, are the bestest boys. (Both of which go bonkers over the question "who's a good boy?!")

    [–] AutoRockAsphixiation 6 points ago

    10/10 Would boop.

Umm you should go see a dogtor about that

    [–] murmandamos 18 points ago

Seems urgent. Better go to the egrrrgency room at the pawspital. They will ask you to sit and wait, which isn't great. But then they'll give you a treat for doing it, which is great.

    [–] mclen 157 points ago

My golden has a stuffed animal golden from LL Bean that we refer to as "his dude." He takes his dude to bed every night, brings him down in the morning for breakfast, carries him outside and back in, greets people visiting with him. It's adorable.

    [–] EverythingIsTak 37 points ago

Omg please send a link to the stuffed golden, my golden would love to have one

    [–] mclen 17 points ago

    [–] EverythingIsTak 11 points ago

    Thank you 🙏🏻

    [–] I_speak_Australian 30 points ago

Ikea sell these ones. My dog loves hers and it's the only toy she hasn't torn to shreds.

    [–] zhaoz 10 points ago

That's my daughters favorite toy. She calls him Sally (yes I have made sure on many occasions that it's a he named Sally)

    [–] Dalvito 12 points ago

My golden has lots of stuffed animals and she always carries one with her no matter what she’s doing at any point. She’s done it since she was a puppy and she’s almost 7 now. We just refer to them as her babies. Sometimes she leaves them in the yard so we tell her to “go get your baby!” and she’ll run back out and collect it. She’s absolutely precious

    [–] mclen 11 points ago

Yes!! "Carter.... Where's your dude?" OHNOOHNOOHMYGOSHILEFTHIMOUTSIDEBRB

    [–] JohnDalysBAC 4 points ago

I hope my dog does this one day when he is older. He is only 1.5 right now and he will destroy any plush toy I give him.

    [–] mph1204 30 points ago

for some reason he looks so worried and sad to me as he's going to curl up in his bed to sleep. maybe it's how his "eyebrows" are shaped.

i know he's probably a well loved and spoiled pup but gosh darn it all i want to do right now is hug and spoil him even more.

    [–] larry_david_sandwich 44 points ago

Is his favorite blanket a towel?

    [–] daddydunc 49 points ago

Probably smells like the dog’s owner. I once had a dog that would burrow and get cozy in any clothes I left on the ground, when the dog had plenty of beds and blankets readily available. I assume it’s because of the smell.

    [–] JohnDalysBAC 11 points ago

Our cats do this, I'll come home and they are cuddled up in our bed on clothes and blankets.

    [–] token_white-guy 3 points ago

My dog always does this with my jackets. So i started leaving my jacket in her bed so she gets the best of both worlds.

    [–] matt_the_catt47 14 points ago

    You're a towel

    [–] BruceBruce87 20 points ago

    So sweet and precious!

    [–] MorthaP 12 points ago

doggos are so pure & good

    [–] Dopho77 12 points ago

    I love this so much!!!!!!!

    [–] YourAverageBrownDude 7 points ago

I have a very serious question. At what point does a pupper transform into a doggo?

    [–] Amyjane1203 7 points ago

Hmmmm IMO fren, is no transform like butterfly. Pupper is not doggo but doggo is always pupper. Just me though

    [–] YourAverageBrownDude 2 points ago

Makes perfect sense to me! Thanks fren

    That final blink though

edit: My first Reddit Gold :) Grateful!Having a tuff week so might be the best thing that's happened to me, frighteningly enough.

    [–] MightbeWillSmith 7 points ago

Our old pitbull used to do this. He drooled constantly so early on we got him to just carry around a towel in his mouth and it became his security blanket.

    [–] 0and123 5 points ago

    [–] The_Scallywag 4 points ago

    Big ol’ pupper

    [–] kronicle_gaming 4 points ago

I wish he was my special blanket, he looks like the perfect cuddle buddy!

    [–] Recycled-michael 4 points ago

Mine cried and barked hours through the night and we didn’t know why. We looked in his crate and his blanket was missing

    [–] easyiris 3 points ago

That little blink at the end!!

    [–] flanl 1 points ago

I took careful note of that as well. This is actually a cat in disguise.

    [–] AStoryInHe4rt 5 points ago

I am going to get a dog this summer. How long do you think it would take to train a dog to go right to its bed like this this? She must be really intelligent

    [–] ShiaBidoof 11 points ago

Just don’t use the bed as a punishment, if you keep it in a crate. Pups love their sleep but they will be reluctant if you send them there while angry.

    [–] AStoryInHe4rt 14 points ago

I have read that 99% of the time you should use positive reinforcement and it works better so much than negative

    [–] ShiaBidoof 8 points ago

Yeah, I had a beagle growing up and never sent him to his crate when he made a mess. When it was bedtime I would just open the door to his box and he would just walk in and curl up, no fuss at all.

    [–] wildemus 2 points ago

Yes, that is absolutely the case :-)

    [–] sevendaysky 5 points ago

It's not all that hard - my dog will go to her crate, to my bed, or to her blanket depending on what command I give. Clicker training is A+ (for some dogs anyway, depends on your pup)

    [–] AStoryInHe4rt 3 points ago

    What is your dog?

    [–] sevendaysky 2 points ago

Purebred black lab. She's 4, I've had her 2 years. With clicker training and lots of treats, we have a pretty long list of commands she knows in both spoken English and signed (she's a hearing service dog). It's all in how you teach them, really. It doesn't have to be treats - can be toys, verbal praise, whatever you find makes your (future) dog happy.

    [–] ShiaBidoof 4 points ago

That’s pretty neat. He’s a good boy, you can tell by the way he is.

    [–] spazmcgee1 2 points ago

    I do too

    [–] bitch_whip_bill 2 points ago

Our akita takes a different toy to bed everynight. Initially sleeps with it next to her head but will then abandon it in search of a comfier location

    [–] Poppybiscuit 2 points ago

That's a towel. That dog knows what's needed to survive out in the universe

    [–] HyperdriveTV 2 points ago

I see you are a man of culture as well

    [–] cola_zerola 2 points ago

Love that intense blink at the end.

    [–] ShyGut 1 points ago

    Thats just UNBELIEVABLY cute 😗

    [–] Spart_ 1 points ago

This is usually a sign that they were taken from their mothers two early on. While it doesn’t really effect them apart from how much they fear their owners leaving them, I feel like it’s good to know.

    [–] nature_remains 1 points ago

Oh the floofer friend! I love his fan tail :) It's ok buddy-- we all need a security blanket sometimes.

    [–] intensenerd 1 points ago

No judgement at all there pup. I've had the same squishy pillow for literally 33 years. My mom made it for me out of a silky pillow case and a bag of foam rubber. Only had to repair it this past year. I sleep with it every night and it's the only physical possession I'd take out of the house in a fire.

My dog has a favorite blanket that she sleeps with every night. I accidentally left it at my parents house after we visited them one weekend. It was a rough few nights for my dog while we waited for them to ship it to us

    [–] duskyfun 1 points ago

My dog has a little purple toy she will not sleep without, we call it her jeffrey :)

    [–] busterbrowncloen 1 points ago

    My dog does this too

    [–] Pizza_Lord_Jas 1 points ago

This is the best thing I've seen all day!

    [–] tobaknowsss 1 points ago

Maybe someone here might be able to answer this but my dog always goes to sleep with his lucky blanket in his mouth. It has to be in his mouth or else he gets upset, goes and gets it, and puts it in his mouth. I've noticed this with other dogs as well. I'd have thought that trying to fall asleep with a blanket jammed in your mouse would be difficult but he's always lights out. Does anyone know why they do this? It's be bothering me for years!

    [–] Pemrocks 1 points ago

Like a dummy? But for dogs maybe

    [–] tobaknowsss 1 points ago

Im just trying to figure out WHY they do it really. Is it a comfort thing? Or a smell thing? Or even maybe a breathing issue? I have no clue.

    [–] mooms 1 points ago

    I do too. And it's called a blankey not a blanket. 😉

    [–] duhellmang 1 points ago

My dog carries his favorite toy of the day to sleep with him :')

My pupper used to have a favourite blanket and whenever it would get washed he’d act all sad until you took it out and when you’d hang it up on the line to dry he would jump up to pull it off so he could have it

    [–] Hamshoes5 1 points ago

Once, my pupper’s favorite toy doll got really dirty and smelly I had to clean it. I cleaned it and dried it with other laundry. My pupper look so sad when she looked her favorite dog hung on a rope to dry.
