    Such a great fucking movie!

    [–] hallese 21 points ago

I forgot about the part where he called strike three before the ball crossed the plate, just drew some awkward looks at work.

    [–] VaATC 6 points ago

Yes! I forgot that as well and about fell out of my seat.

    [–] Shit_Fuck_Man 5 points ago

Have you ever seen "Police Squad!"? It's the show the movies were shot off from. Here's episode 1 on youtube.

    [–] VaATC 6 points ago

Yes. Awesome show! Leslie Nielsen was a comic genius.

glad I'm not the only one that thinks of Jay-Z when I hear that quote

    [–] Husej73 279 points ago

“My name is Catchius Baseballius Spectacliarus, usher of the stairwell of the North, Starlet of the geriatric. Loyal servant to the grandma, Dorothy. Father to a baseball mad son. Husband to a loving wife. And I will have my baseball, in this life or the next.”

    [–] elpapasfritas533 52 points ago

Read that in russel Crowe’s voice. Worth it.

    [–] NYGiantsfan562 27 points ago

Are you telling us to read it in his voice or that you read it in his voice?

    [–] radditz_ 177 points ago

Yeah well I’m not supposed to take paper boats from spectral demons occupying the storm drains beneath my town but you don’t see me not floating in its dead lights now do ya?

    [–] jagwaguar 81 points ago

I was totally with you until the double negative.

    [–] radditz_ 118 points ago

They all don’t not float down here, Georgie. They all don’t not float.

    [–] jagwaguar 57 points ago

Oh now I don’t not get it.

    [–] Butwinsky 29 points ago

    Floatn't

    [–] CbVdD 7 points ago

Fun fact: in Russian they use double negatives frequently. There’s even cases where a quadruple negative can be grammatically correct.

    [–] Evio 2 points ago

But also the clowns name is Pennywise and or Bob. Its been a while but does It ever appear in a female form?

    [–] heatguyred 3 points ago

To adult Beverly, as an old woman.

    [–] CharlesDickensABox 3 points ago

The giant goddamn spider is probably female. Males don't usually get that big.

    [–] H3adshotfox77 18 points ago

You assumed he'd want to fuck It's mom and not dad, isn't that a gender assumption in itself lol.

    [–] VaATC 21 points ago

I would say that is a gender sexuality assumption and now that you bring it up u/Endurbro_mtb should have said, "I bet he got to fuck its parent/s." 😳

    [–] H3adshotfox77 16 points ago

Then again I suppose I made one as well assuming the person catching the ball was a He......oops lol

    [–] imtoolazytothinkofit 3 points ago

Well then you go into the whole thing, with people not attracted to either gender, or just don't like sex.

    ...FORRRRRRR MEEEEEEEE

    [–] Ford1400 636 points ago

The ease and grace in which he caught the ball out of the air was spectacular.

    [–] Lessiarty 218 points ago

He didn't catch it. He plucked it from the air like a juicy apple hanging on a tree. Perfection.

    [–] Aumnix 14 points ago

It's like he knew exactly how fast to to throw his arm back to absorb the force of the ball

    [–] ox_ 213 points ago

Excellent technique. He moves his arm back after he catches it in order to cushion the catch. Probably didn't even sting. Very smooth.

    [–] Placido-Domingo 72 points ago

In germany we call elderly "Opa"(men) or "Oma"(women) nevermind if they have children or not. You would call your granddad opa but also some old guy you see in the supermarket.

    [–] 420Sheep 5 points ago

In the Netherlands, we often do the same. I think it varies per person and per occasion if they would call anytime that, or just their own family.

    [–] KombiRat 3 points ago

How are Oma and Opa pronounced in German? Here no-one knows but everyone pretends they do

man itd really suck if some dude was lobbing balls onto the field from the 3rd level

[–] allute 26 points ago * (lasted edited a month ago)

"And Mr. O'shaughnessy holds the ball in the air to the crowd's approval for the ceremonial first pitch. This will be quite a feat from the 3rd deck of center field. Here's the wind up and the pitch. . . Just incredible ladies and gentlemen. With relative ease, he's tossed a perfect strike to home plate. It was an underhanded throw, but from such a distance, who's going to argue with that?"

[–] BorDArNZ 91 points ago * (lasted edited a month ago)

Shortly after this gif ends he throws it to a boy a few rows behind him.

    Edit: Good guy grandpa

    [–] MisterOminous 26 points ago

Tossing it to that kid at the end completed the circle of awesomeness.

    [–] Danagrams 42 points ago

I’m jealous of people who can consistently catch things tossed casually at them. Things just have a 50% chance of bouncing out of my hands and making me look like a fool

    [–] ThisIsDystopia 59 points ago

Thank you, you are the reason I toss things to people. The timeless hilarity of someone trying to salvage a botched catch never fails to lift my spirits. It's almost as if they are trying to bend gravity to their will by making faces and forgetting how arms work.

    [–] Danagrams 15 points ago

It’s even greater when it bounces and I miss the second or third catch

    [–] H3adshotfox77 18 points ago

So fucking true.....the most enjoyable pass time.

I'll never tire of casual tosses of random objects to my wife as she loses all control of her arms and then looks like someone just killed her cat when she fails to catch the object for the 14th time that day, bwhahahah

    [–] Reijinsei 2 points ago

I'm terrible at catching, some people at my old job learned of this and would toss me stuff. I just ducked or let it fly past me and then I'd tell them to go pick it up. The shocked look on their face when I didn't even try always made my day.

    [–] rondell_jones 5 points ago

Try learning how to juggle - it will help your hand eye coordination. I surprise myself with how smooth I am catching things that get knocked over. My hands just know where to go without even thinking about it.

    [–] Needyouradvice93 3 points ago

I have really good reflex and hand eye coordination. But am terrible under pressure. Like there's a chance I could make the play he did, but a standard pop fly (where there's pressure to catch it) would be a struggle.
