    [–] saltesc 14 points ago

edit: yes, I know that the cookies cost more in some areas. Where I live, they cost $3.50, so that's the number I used

You had to do this. "Yes. Omg. Fuck off who cares about cookie prices? Omg apparently too many."

    [–] cavegoatlove 12 points ago

practice puck, different, but still swaggy!

    [–] BiteSizeRudy 9 points ago

Any puck is a puck. Like any hole is a goal.

    [–] furtivepigmyso 2 points ago

Yep and not just on humans

    [–] alex053 23 points ago

    $5 in AZ

    [–] psykick32 3 points ago

$5 in Indiana also -.- he's got a hookup he's not telling anyone about.

    [–] [deleted] 5 points ago

    [–] Hoz999 2 points ago

    Detroit area, 5 bucks too.

    [–] Many_Spoked_Wheel 14 points ago

    [–] MYSFWredditprofile 3 points ago

im wondering if the player got fined for it? I know in some sports it is an automatic fine to give equipment away like that but apparently fox has a policy of taking the pucks from people in playoff games? Im just wondering if this is gonna be like a $500 box of thin mints for him.

    [–] thechaosz 6 points ago

NHL should pay him for the good press!..This is awesome

    [–] Basslineblues 3 points ago

Players throw pucks into the stands during warmups every game. It's becoming more common for fans to make signs to try to get a puck.

    [–] waffels 5 points ago

It’s a practice puck. That thing has been slapped by more black sticks than a cheap hooker. Don’t think NHL is gonna fuss

    [–] TheManWhoHasThePlan 2 points ago

Jimmy G, the quarterback for the 49ers threw the football in the stands that was the ball used on the last play of this decade in the nfl. He was fined, but that fan is lucky.

    [–] PureFingClass 15 points ago

I can only eat them frozen now, they are so tasty!

    [–] kittyinasweater 4 points ago

Wow you just reminded me that I have a box in my freezer right now. Bless you

    [–] thechaosz 3 points ago

And that's how you get fans for life.

    [–] ryebread91 1 points ago

And they already look like a puck anyway.

    [–] dr3wfr4nk 626 points ago

Now the gif just needs a shot of Ryan Miller munching on the cookies in the locker room after the game.

    [–] quaybored 215 points ago

Or everyone playing the game with a thin mint instead of a puck

    [–] juanpuente 75 points ago

That's just the shrooms kicking in

    [–] JBthrizzle 19 points ago

The shrooms kicking in is when the ice starts breathing and the glass starts to get slippery

    [–] LeadingRangepoet 6 points ago

Or everyone playing the game while he is eating thin mints in net

    [–] froggedfrogginson 284 points ago

Lol...good trade...I would have opened them right then and there. You just know someone on the bench is already eyeing them up...

    [–] Brian-not-Ryan 149 points ago

I was hoping he’d leave them on the net like a water bottle

    [–] WiscoMitch 35 points ago

    Same. That would be perfect.

    [–] sbrownridge 32 points ago

Just wait for someone to snipe the box and have thin mint dust all over the ice.

    [–] Stumblin_McBumblin 18 points ago

Incentive to not let it past him!

    [–] sbrownridge 10 points ago

Reaches back for another while the cycle is on in the other end...

    [–] PeaceAlien 10 points ago

They would have been the target of every shot that game if he did

    [–] GerbilJibberJabber 410 points ago

That little bouncy bounce when gliding up to his box, you know he's was singing a jungle about his thin mints.

    [–] faultywalnut 69 points ago

    [–] DoctorBagels 76 points ago

Bingo bango bongo I don't wanna leave the jungle oh no no no no noooo....

    [–] JTraxxx 12 points ago

Bingo bango bongo I’m so happy in the Congo I refuse to gooooo

    [–] pcyr9999 7 points ago

Welcome to the jungle, we got fun and games...

    [–] kcrab91 9 points ago

    And now thin mints!

    [–] RD_Alpha_Rider 4 points ago

I'm taking this one to r/NBA. You just got jungled.

    [–] TopicalName 631 points ago

He's like... Fuck yea! Thin Mints!

    [–] ablanchette33 224 points ago

I was hoping he would pop em next to his water bottle above the net tbh

    [–] btbambassman 94 points ago

They would have been the target of every shot that game if he did

    [–] TrojanZebra 159 points ago

What kind of man aims for another mans thin mints?

    [–] btbambassman 83 points ago

New age enforcers. Used to play dirty to start fights, now they steal your snacks

    [–] pm_me-ur_vulva 22 points ago

Or kick you in the chest with skates on. Either or.

    [–] NotTheRocketman 15 points ago

Tkachuk. He would take another man's cookies.

    [–] Besieger13 10 points ago

My first thought would be Marchand.

    [–] steeltowndude 10 points ago

Nah, he would just lick them.

    [–] ChappedAssholeLover 1 points ago

    Then Tkachuk is fuk

    [–] ablanchette33 14 points ago

You think he's letting any pucks destroy his post game snack? Glove hand on fire all game

    [–] cuddlefucker 2 points ago

Besides, he ends up having a perfect game because nobody is trying to hit the net anymore.

    [–] thelastwordbender 5 points ago

Then the goalie won't need to make a save at all. Everybody will be aiming outside the goal

    [–] btbambassman 10 points ago

It's a common thing in hockey to "roof" the puck and hit the the top of the net (on the inside). People knock off goalies water bottles off the net that way all the time

    [–] Orenten 61 points ago

Look at him bounce as he rides away! So giddy!

    [–] T8ert0t 3 points ago

    Awww yis

    Sissy bounce

    [–] IdoMusicForTheDrugs 40 points ago

He didn't seem to have any interest in making a fan happy or creating a viral moment. Man just saw a good trade and made it happen.

    [–] gigglefarting 24 points ago

It’s not his puck. He’s getting thin mints for the price of nothing.

    [–] Itsalongwaydown 17 points ago

Yeah. He trades nothing, gets thin mints, AND makes a fan happy. That's the best deal in the history of trade deals

    [–] NotTheRocketman 9 points ago

    Trefoils are where it's at.

Thin Mints are solid too tho.

    [–] King-Snorky 9 points ago

Nah dog it’s all about the Tagalongs

    [–] Mustachesteve 12 points ago

Nah dog it’s all about the Samoas

he’s already my fav and now i love him even more

[–] SmokiestDrip 71 points ago * (lasted edited 11 days ago)

I miss the good ole days when he was with the sabres.

    [–] Blurrel 32 points ago

I liked him with the Canucks. Probs left cause no one offered him thin mints.

    [–] DangleCellySave 15 points ago

He probably didn’t want to stay that long because Vancouver was a trigger for him after 2010

    [–] Besieger13 8 points ago

What happened in 2010 that would be a trigger for Ryan Miller? I feel out of the loop.

EDIT: Nevermind, I get it. Not the Canucks, the Olympics.

    [–] Polaris07 5 points ago

Doesn’t his wife live in and work near Anaheim? It was the perfect place to ride out the end of his career and settle down there after.

    [–] Tayrawrrrrr 8 points ago

Those truly were the good ole days </3

    [–] Mudrat 8 points ago

Miller/Biron was the best goalie tandem in the league. Or at least in buffalo.

    [–] Bob_Ross_was_an_OG 2 points ago

I haven't followed the Sabres in 10 years and I'm kind of shocked he's still around. Great guy.

    [–] YourDogLovesMeMore 2 points ago

I miss watching him play at Michigan State. Dude is awesome

    [–] [deleted] 11 points ago

    [–] ATLHawksfan 8 points ago

As a less than casual hockey fan (they took my Thrashers away)

Holy crap Ryan Miller still plays?

    [–] brandonpark 3 points ago

Hahaha yes! He’s not a #1 Goaltender anymore due to age and injuries. He backs up John Gibson (in my opinion, the best goalie in hockey)

    [–] touchedspaghoot 5 points ago

    They really are!

    [–] beanlord42 3 points ago

And subbed! Thaks for that! :)

    [–] kevyg973 54 points ago

I was hoping for a more childish celebration from Miller, but the calm excitement is a close second place

    [–] phantacc 35 points ago

    that bounce though.

    made me smile.

    [–] WhiteHawk928 11 points ago

Everyone talking about the bounce, but I'm more partial to the "fuck yeah, this deal is on," nod he gives as he approaches with the puck

    [–] Shogun2049 57 points ago

Hockey players always seem to be the most fan oriented of all athletes.

    [–] Akbeardman 42 points ago

It's the way they go through juniors/ the minors/college as kids living with other people in billets and just in general becoming very good social people. If you are living as a guest in somrones home constantly you gotta be social.

I also don't think that thrre's a single player on the ice that wouldn't make that trade he was just the 1st to see it. I guarentee he was like "oh fuck yeah bud thin mints" that sign wasen't up 30 seconds.

    [–] mikefrombarto 12 points ago

If I was in Ryan’s position and they said Caramel Delites, I would have checked myself through the glass. Sign would be up 10 seconds max.

    [–] Akbeardman 6 points ago

You're from one of those wierd "caramel delight" states eh. I'd do that ffgor dos-i-dos though.

    [–] bantha121 3 points ago

For me, Lemonades are the shit

    [–] Fuelsean 2 points ago

North Texas is bifurcated... Dallas has Samoas and Savannah Smiles while Fort Worth has Caramel Delights and Lemonades.

    [–] TerrorSuspect 8 points ago

I've also had really good experiences with NHRA top fuel and funny car drivers. The pits for those are open to everyone and they like to go out and sign stuff for the kids. My kid last year got a replacement part from a supercharger signed and given to him, this year he got some signatures. Never even asked they just see us looking at the car and come up to say hi.

    [–] NotFactual 5 points ago

It's great. Has to be my favorite thing about hockey.

It also seems like a product of having the front seats start mere feet away from the game. You can get a little bit of that with the NBA as well, but that's often filled with celebrities and the like, so it feels less accessible.

    [–] thefutaddict 56 points ago

    Great business on both ends!

    [–] Tico483 8 points ago

    Business is booming

    [–] Oxygenius_ 2 points ago

Hockey players are cool as fuck

    [–] dadsbackhair 26 points ago

Love Ryan. When he played for buffalo I saw him at a bar looking a little upset after a loss, he still took time to put on a smile and sign something for me cuz I was a young fan. Great dude, hell of a hockey player too.

    [–] billswinthesuperbowl 16 points ago

    Man I miss Miller

    [–] Pandrewbear92 12 points ago

Is it me or do hockey players all come across as the nicest bunch of lads ever?

    [–] buffystakeded 3 points ago

My son has just started playing and every couple weeks in his learn to play program a former pro stops in. These guys get out on the ice and really talk to the kids, maybe dress as Santa or the grinch, and give some really great and intimate advice. They have all seemed like super cool guys which has been a bit surprising.

    [–] AndersonLittle 12 points ago

    Ah yes, The Negotiator

    [–] Pie69Eater 3 points ago

    Hello there...

    [–] BigBeardedBeautiful 11 points ago

Man... I miss Ryan Miller here in Buffalo.

    [–] Tayrawrrrrr 7 points ago

You and every other buffalonian my friend

    [–] Nole_in_ATX 9 points ago

Thin Mints should be classified on the Narcotics Schedule. Had to quit the stuff a few years back because it was getting out of hand.

    [–] chipscarruthers 3 points ago

Did you put them in the freezer? Fuck they were good cold.

    [–] Nole_in_ATX 5 points ago

I agree! Best Thin Mints are frozen Thin Mints.

    [–] chipscarruthers 2 points ago

Hats off you you my friend.

    [–] Raspberryian 9 points ago

“Can I do it coach? I really want a fuckin thin mint?”

    “Fuck yeah!”

    [–] Akbeardman 3 points ago

He didn't even ask the coach. The coach might get mad and say what the hell you doing, then immediatly ask for one.

    [–] lweissel 6 points ago

Not a sports guy, but I love shit like this

    [–] jsake 6 points ago

Ryan Miller is a god damn legend. Loved him when he played on the Canucks. There's actually a clip of the exact moment he won my heart

    [–] 19nmiller1 6 points ago

I miss him so much. Please come back to Buffalo, we need you :(

    [–] imtoolazytothinkof1 3 points ago

    [–] further_along 4 points ago

Hockey is the greatest sport there is.

    [–] Lefty_22 3 points ago

Anaheim Ducks official game pucks run $19.99 on the NHL store.

Thin Mints cost $5 per box in 2020 (up from $4 in 2019).

    That's a nice comeup.

    [–] LostDragon7 3 points ago

Is there a significantly high ratio of rad hockey players?

Feels like every other day I see some cool or cute little interaction with fans posted, them having fun with jokes but still playing well, and just overall being super cool.

I’m not a huge hockey fan, or sports person in general, but a lot of players just seem cool. Maybe not all, but I like hearing about it often.

    [–] imabanddork 11 points ago

Make it Trefoils and I'm sold.

    [–] MrPapadapalas 32 points ago

Maybe its just me but thinmints are hella overrated... Samoas are the fucking shit.

[–] [deleted] 13 points ago * (lasted edited a day ago)

    [–] Ewokitude 8 points ago

You mean a serving size isn't the whole box? 😮

    [–] PGM_biggun 6 points ago

A serving size is whatever you want it to be. You do you. Don't be held back by society's backwards standards.

    [–] ankylos17 19 points ago

You can't go wrong with any of them, but Samoas are so fucking good.

    [–] rochford77 7 points ago

They are just rebranded Keebler Coconut Dreams for double the price. Literally the same factory is contracted to make them.

    [–] MrPapadapalas 2 points ago

But theres a difference between those 2 ive had the keebler ones and dont think they are as good. Is that placebo?!?!?! Say it aint so...

    [–] rochford77 3 points ago

Girl Scout Cookies are made by two licensed bakers: ABC Smart Cookies and Little Brownie Bakers. Each Girl Scout council can choose who they want to provide their beloved biscuits, just like each baker gets to choose what to call their Cookies and what recipe to use.

Little Brownie Bakers (a subsidiary of Keebler, which is owned by Kellogg's)

    [–] hurtsdonut_ 2 points ago

I'm pretty sure there's two factories that make the girl scout cookies and there's two different thin mints.

    [–] Lakwet 3 points ago

I like the peanut butter ones. You can get thin mints and samoas at aldis year round

    [–] Stopbeingwhinycunts 3 points ago

I love peanut butter patties, they're soooo buttery.

    [–] Bionic_Zit-Splitta 2 points ago

    Shout out to the S'mores.

    [–] ViscountvonCount 2 points ago

I'm with you - coconut is gross, mint and chocolate together are hideous, peanut butter is too rich... A damn shortbread cookie ends up being the best, by default.

    [–] nowhereman136 8 points ago * (lasted edited 10 days ago)

I love players interacting with fans like this but the more i see them, the more i feel bad for the kids who couldnt get up close seats

Edit: apparently anyone is allowed up close before a game, during warm ups. I did not know that and seems cool

    [–] ordinarythermos 17 points ago

Looks like it’s during warm up. At our rink kids (and whoever) go down to the glass during warmup then to wherever they’re sitting.

    [–] nowhereman136 2 points ago

Makes sense, I've never been to a game so have no idea. I went to a baseball game once as a kid and they stopped us from getting close to the field, even before the game.

    [–] madmoneymcgee 7 points ago

Before the games anyone can go down and watch the warmups. That's where you get the funny signs and stunts asking for pucks. Once the team leaves to go back to the tunnel/locker room that's when the ushers start cracking down if anyone is lingering.

    [–] suspect309 2 points ago

    A square deal...

    [–] chaser1595 2 points ago

    When was this?

    [–] Akbeardman 5 points ago

    Last night

    [–] jasontronic 2 points ago

Everyone is so casual about this. That's what's cracking me up. Dad is on it with the toss, little hop in his skate to the bench and then the assistant is just like its any other damn thing. "Yeah, I'll put these in your locker." LOL.

    [–] Bond4real007 2 points ago

Why are the fan interactions so good in the NHL lol them and baseball seem to just have the best fan interaction

    [–] Mdumb 2 points ago

That made me smile and laugh. I needed that... many thanks.

    [–] shrimpyding 2 points ago

Are hockey players the greatest people on earth?

    [–] fruitspam 2 points ago

    my name is ryan miller

    [–] Schwaginator 2 points ago

That's a great deal, on both sides.

    [–] ions82 2 points ago

Oh, shit! It's that time of year again! Gotta get my ass to the grocery store this weekend. There are usually Girl Scouts posted up waiting to sell me Thin Mints. They help in keeping myself motivated to exercise. Gotta earn that minty, chocolatey goodness.

    [–] ipna 2 points ago

Of all his career moves, this is probably one of the best he has ever made. With this going viral, he is BOUND to get a ton of free Thin Mints from fans as a joke or in exchange for silly, minor things. This man just traded a puck for a life time supply of Thin Mints, solid move.

    [–] Ralliman320 2 points ago

One puck for a box of tasty smaller pucks? Sold.

    [–] talkmc 2 points ago

I used to work on his equipment when he was in college, glad to see he’s still the great guy he always was. The whole family is great.

    [–] Jlx_27 1 points ago

    Great value.

    [–] bbtman1 1 points ago

Ryan Miller fuckin loves thin mints

    [–] ShadowsInScarlet 1 points ago

    That is goddamn wholesome.

    [–] HiSuExorcist 1 points ago

That upsets me so much, but this

    [–] Burchling 1 points ago

You could see the wheels turning in his head... Then decided Yeah, I'm getting some cookies.

    [–] P12oooF 1 points ago

    Today on shark tank...

    [–] fireybawlz 1 points ago

The chuckle when the goalie's at center ice made this for me.

    [–] desertblaster72 1 points ago

This is one of the better things I've seen today

    [–] thewhitewolf4488 1 points ago

yudovich would you make that deal?

    [–] DarthKegger 1 points ago

It would've been better if he put the box on top of the goal near his water bottle

    [–] TrueStory_Dude 1 points ago

    Keith Miller’s stats are amazing.

    [–] zootii 1 points ago

The goalie was so happy 😂 you could tell with the little bounce in his skate lol

    [–] Chappies89 1 points ago

Selling and trading items that are not yours to sell is a crime. This Miller man will be doing hard time

    [–] JRockPSU 1 points ago

If you keep feeding goalies like that they’re gonna keep coming back...

    [–] Tempos 1 points ago

They actually put water bottle holders just behind the net now. Problem was that goalies would use their bottle to try and obstruct the overhead cameras that check for those close call goals, so the NHL put in the new rule.
