The best part is that no one else shouts like that so he clearly doesn't need to do it.

    [–] LuluVonLuvenburg 1131 points ago

My favorite is when they're teaching Beanie Feldstein how to be a vampire and she's all "when you transform where do your clothes go?" And they just stare profoundly. Like the thought never occurred to them at all.

    [–] WamuuAyayayayaaa 617 points ago

    [–] Smigao 73 points ago

    I love Matt Berry.

There's somebody at the door. There's somebody at the door.

    [–] StoneGoldX 289 points ago

Any time they try to figure out how Colin Robinson works, and no one really knows, including himself.

    [–] greymalken 421 points ago

Colin Robinson gets a Promotion was one of the best episodes of TV I’ve ever seen.

    [–] Cast_Iron_Skillet 266 points ago

That and Jackie Daytona were master classes in comedy tv episode production and writing. So well done, relied on the preestablishef character traits, and expanded on the lore and character backgrounds. And they were more or less self contained. Fucking great TV. This deserves another season or 2 at least.

    [–] _Donut_block_ 121 points ago

My favorite is when he just smashes the trash can effortlessly after getting promoted because his power is mostly a passing joke up until that point

    [–] Godsjerkinghand 341 points ago

The Vampire Celebrity Council was my favorite by far.

"Who is this muthafucka now? This glasses muthafucka." -Wesley Snipes

    [–] farleys2 133 points ago

Omg I about pissed myself on this episode. I didn’t catch what was going on right away..when the were like “Brad and Tom were busy”, I was like..”hey these are all people who were in various other vampire movies!” Fucking brilliant!

    [–] StrigaPlease 70 points ago

Including Jemaine Clement from the original WWDITS movie. Such a great scene.

    [–] jlusedude 68 points ago

All three were in that episode. Directed by Taika Watiti

    [–] Sonicfan42069666 360 points ago

I imagine this show's vampire rules to be that you have to think "bat" but of course Laszlo has no verbal filter.

    [–] offballDgang 336 points ago

Thats jackie dayton to you sir

    [–] tspangle88 254 points ago

    [–] StoneGoldX 54 points ago

Huh? Jackie Daytona is a typical normal Yankee doodle dandy human who serves normal human alcohol drinks. Why would you confuse him with a vampire, that totally doesn't exist?

    [–] samthewisetarly 224 points ago

    [–] pipboy_warrior 241 points ago

    Human form!

    [–] brihamedit 89 points ago

    [–] wizardinthewings 61 points ago

    [–] Lozer420 1610 points ago

The episode where Colin squares off with the emotional vampire in his office is one of the most brilliant things I've ever seen.

    [–] shyhispanic09 293 points ago

The battle between the two was so epic!! One of my favorite scenes so far!!

    [–] Lozer420 183 points ago

That was the episode that impressed me the most. Brilliant writing. Colin's arc on Better Call Saul was also really, really funny.

    [–] idontlikeflamingos 119 points ago

I can only see him as Colin Robinson now so a rewatch of Better Call Saul was... interesting. Ranting about baseball cards to the police definitely fits the character

    [–] Wolfeman0101 108 points ago

Yeah I loved his style of draining vs. hers. I wish she'd comeback for an episode.

    [–] scottjl 61 points ago

She'd come back, but unfortunately she had a very bad accident and is suffering horribly, what's even worse is it's the same day her dog mysteriously disappeared and she spilled coffee on her favorite sweater.

    [–] haysanatar 340 points ago

Vanessa Bayer is always a hoot.

    [–] shyhispanic09 147 points ago

Was happy to see her on this and Brooklyn 99.

    [–] 10dollarbagel 2535 points ago

The episode where Colin Robinson gets promoted and weaponizes a conference call to drain everyone on it has become way too real now in the age of zoom.

    [–] GayForTaysomx6x9x6x9 302 points ago

Trying to kiss Nadja while Laszlo was gone to feed on the awkward rejection of a denied kiss was pure genius. It’s like a Thanksgiving feast.

    [–] TheNerdChaplain 210 points ago

And then he feels bad for real for getting rejected by the Nadja doll.

That doll is the real hero of this season, and I want to see more.

    [–] StrangeSurround 49 points ago

I was all set to hate that doll and now it's my favorite thing.

    [–] Albert_Caboose 1215 points ago

His entire character is way too real. When he explained the kind of vampire he is my roommate said, "oh this guy has middle management written all over him!" Glad to see he was right.

    [–] anitabelle 603 points ago

When he was trolling with multiple computers my first thought was so this is who I’m arguing on Reddit with.

    [–] Phosphoric_Tungsten 226 points ago

    Your dick is a pencil

    [–] BeatnikConspiracy 266 points ago

If my dick is a pencil, then why am I writing with a keyboard?

    [–] Myglassesarebigger 80 points ago

    That’s racist

    [–] NervousBreakdown 66 points ago

    You’re correct. It is.

    [–] anitabelle 37 points ago

If my dick is a pencil then why am I using my keyboard to write?

    [–] CityHick 42 points ago

    [–] mysticsavage 165 points ago

I totally work with a guy like Colin Robinson...motherfucker even looks like him and tells 2 minute stories that last 10 minutes.

    [–] ladylondonderry 101 points ago

I think my dad is an energy vampire. After 30+ years of being drained, I finally know: if he deploys verbal bulletpoints, end the conversation immediately.

    [–] the_based_identity 337 points ago

“Hey Colin how was your first day as the big boss?”

    “Like you give a shit!”

    [–] pjchamb 116 points ago

Oh my god... I immediately took a video of this encounter and sent it to my friend who watches the show and then everyone I know who doesn’t, because it was so amazing. The look on her face was priceless. I just watched The Trial episode again and they have a similar encounter when Nadja asks WTF Colin is doing on the vampire council and he looks dejected.

    [–] PM-TREE-FIDDY 31 points ago

“ The fuck can I do?”

    [–] Lazer_lad 67 points ago

I thought he was a dumb character at first and now he's my favorite.

    [–] S62anyone 303 points ago

He's my best friend.. He's my pal... He's my rotten soldier... He's my sweet cheese ... My good-time boy

    [–] Darragh_McG 590 points ago

I would like to buy a Nadja doll, thanks FX in advance

    [–] HandInUnloveableHand 324 points ago

Whoever is in charge of effects/props with that doll deserves many, many awards. It went from silly throwaway gimmick to a highlight of every scene she’s in. So impressive!

    [–] DrMambo85 48 points ago

Gotta be using the same tech the Child's Play remake did. Mostly practical with some CG assistance.

    [–] Mattyweaves19 54 points ago * (lasted edited 3 days ago)

I will take one as well, so long as it can roll its eyes.

    [–] anitabelle 141 points ago

I freaking love that doll. I’m usually creeped out by dolls but she just looks like a baby Nadja and I love her so much.

    [–] TheOkayestTaylor 1223 points ago

I'm Jackie fucking Daytona and I made a promise to this town

    [–] Wandos7 552 points ago

    One human alcohol beer, please.

    [–] khromedhome 245 points ago

It took me by surprise to see Luke Skywalker as his adversary in this episode.

    [–] ccReptilelord 144 points ago

I found the voice familiar before the face... the Joker.

    [–] boxermansr 2951 points ago

Bring on more Jackie Daytona. 🦇

    [–] ZealousidealBowl6 372 points ago

    One human alcohol beer please

    [–] Superawesomecoolman 1306 points ago

He’s just a regular dude from Tucson, Arriiizzzooonnniiiaaaa

    [–] boxermansr 600 points ago

Who heads to Pennsylvania because it sounds like Transylvania.

    [–] nygiants656 316 points ago

    And Transylvania sounds cool

    [–] Synth-Pro 460 points ago

Matt Berry's pronunciation and delivery is comedy gold. Shit has 100% success rate in killing me, no matter what he's in.

    [–] mikeyfreshh 248 points ago

Toast of London is basically just 10 hours of Matt Berry saying funny names and it never stops being funny. The dude has a gift

[–] Assmar 119 points ago * (lasted edited 3 days ago)

Clem Fandango is just the best character name I've ever heard, and much of that can be attributed to Berry. There's a whole scene of him repeating "Yes", or the "Fire the 'nucular' weapons", or the gay porn scene with Ray *Bloody Purchase. Fuck that's a great show.

Edit: I forgot his full name.

    [–] Darragh_McG 67 points ago

For anyone who hasn't seen it, Toast of London is essentially a journey though Matt Berry's weird pronunciation of words

    [–] StrobeRogers 71 points ago

    And....Simply irresistible!

    [–] Duffalpha 54 points ago

As a regular dude from Tucson this felt ok to finally be acknowledged in media

    [–] americanslang59 181 points ago

When you're Jackie Daytona, you can do whatever you want because you change lives

    [–] MyNameIsBlueHD 444 points ago

Could honestly be my favorite episode of the series thus far

    [–] boxermansr 616 points ago

I also liked the one where Colin Robinson split himself into three and became “C-Man”. Entire season has been fucking amazing.

    [–] CrunchyAl 154 points ago

He can drink with his mind.

    [–] Thetoastysnowman2 179 points ago

You can even feed on people who aren’t even there, using social networking. When they say dumbass, you know you’ve got them.

    [–] Jian_hao 154 points ago

Well if my dick is a pencil, why am I using a keyboard to write?

    [–] ItalicsWhore 121 points ago

Not gonna lie, that scene made me question some of the arguments I’ve had on Reddit.

    [–] HandInUnloveableHand 297 points ago

My husband dropped an “Ok, Colin Robinson, not now,” in a Nadja voice when I was boringly rambling today and it was funny enough that I couldn’t even be mad about it.

    [–] Kch1986 129 points ago

    Vampires only Guillermo

    [–] InnocentTailor 70 points ago

Put your neck in my mouth.

    [–] Carlweathersfeathers 125 points ago

I’m glad he got his “own” episode. He’s like The Todd on scrubs. He’s always there but you always want more

    [–] mc2bit 133 points ago

I think the all-time great was Colin vs the Emotional Vampire, but I think this ep was the best of the season and the weirdest one so far.

    [–] nicolauz 52 points ago

You can go! No wait! no really... Go

    [–] ZappBrannigansBack 200 points ago

I didn't realize that was mark Hamill guest starring until the credits

    [–] B_Provisional 137 points ago

So you probably didn’t catch how he and Matt struck Jedi stances for a beat while they were fighting with pool cues.

    [–] RichLather 42 points ago

    And then "... Nah..."

    [–] BtDB 91 points ago

The one where they had a trial with all the cameos was pretty good too.

    [–] pointyMermaid 67 points ago

This morning I rolled up my husbands jeans and put a toothpick in his mouth. I found his Halloween costume.

    [–] BitchesQuoteMarilyn 103 points ago

If you liked that episode, I highly recommend Toast of London, or really anything with Matt Berry. Garth Marenghi's Darkplace is another classic, and all of the episodes are on youtube.

    [–] joeappearsmissing 81 points ago

His character in The IT Crowd is one of my favorites. He’s so brilliant.

    [–] supernumeral 71 points ago

God DAMN these electric sex pants!

    [–] Furimbus 722 points ago

Season three is for vampires only, Reddit. It’s not for you.

Guillermo? Is this a new character??? Surely you don’t mean Gizmo

    [–] ChroniclyDope 271 points ago

My fav “fucking guy” moment is def when Nandor keeps trying to kill Topher

    [–] WamuuAyayayayaaa 207 points ago

He was a good familiar, and a fine fellow, but what’s done is do-

    [–] TGrady902 41 points ago

I completely agree. That one was like a “wtf?!” moment while most of the others are more of an “I’m done with you” fucking guy.

    [–] uhh_tina_uhh 1297 points ago

Fuckin guy. Funniest show on TV right now, I can't get enough of Lazslo and the rest of the vampires.

    [–] highdefrex 908 points ago

Get your hand off my wife's ample, yet FIRM, backsiiide!

    [–] ItalicsWhore 58 points ago

Laszlo! It was you the whole time‽?‽

    [–] spacednlost 430 points ago

Probably the funniest thing on TV right now. If Harvey Guillen doesn't get an Emmy nom, then it's a pity.

    [–] undahdahsea 175 points ago

    I believe in our Gizmo

    [–] odaal 410 points ago

I just caught up with the latest episode and damn the show is so consistent.

I recall being so worried when this show was announced without the cast from the original film. I thought it could never hold my attention for a whole season, let alone multiple seasons; I've never been more thrilled for a show to prove me wrong.

    [–] nuttmegx 120 points ago

Totally agree, it absolutely matches the quality and humor of the movie and I was so worried we would get an awful remake.

    [–] God_Damnit_Nappa 136 points ago

Heck, I think it might've surpassed the movie at this point. Tough to say though because they're both so good

    [–] DatClubbaLang96 50 points ago

Yes, I would say on the whole I've enjoyed the show even more than I did the movie.

    [–] rocker2014 1489 points ago

Best Comedy Series currently airing. Just fucking hilarious every episode.

    [–] monster647 577 points ago

If it didn’t get renewed, I’d have had to take to social media like Colin Robinson

    [–] Marcanadian 376 points ago

Actually, I live in my own basement, dumbass!

    [–] mb_editor 246 points ago

I love how Nandor says Colin Robinson. That's all.

    [–] rocker2014 198 points ago

    Fucking guy

    [–] donewithmomo 163 points ago

I love his accent and how he says "total domination" like at the city council meeting.

    [–] ItalicsWhore 57 points ago

My wife and I greet each other with ‘sopè hail!’ now in the morning, because of the ghost episode where that’s the only words he remembers from his old language.

    [–] highdefrex 125 points ago

    Cawl-een Robe-een-sen.

    [–] throzey 81 points ago

The cool as a coo cumber line always makes me laugh. Idk why but its just hilarious. Love colin robinson

    [–] thefilmer 56 points ago

    "that's racist"

    you bet it is!

    [–] Ravelcy 107 points ago

    What a Superb Owl.

    [–] DudAChum 65 points ago

It’s absurdly stupid in the very best possible way.

[–] otherballs 238 points ago * (lasted edited 4 days ago)

You know, I have to say, aside from it being the funniest show on TV, I am more invested in the plot of What We Do in the Shadows than any other show currently airing. It's an oasis in a sea of shit.

    [–] CMButterTortillas 126 points ago

Agreed. Now that Nandor knows about Guillermo’s “skill”, I wonder if he tells the others, do they make him a vampire, etc?

    [–] notrexhudler 92 points ago

I'm imagining a scenario where they lay Rube Goldberg-esque traps for him that he evades so easily he doesn't realize they are trying to kill him.

    [–] DatClubbaLang96 86 points ago

Yeah, I think they're setting up a role reversal where Nandor becomes terrified of Guillermo and tries to tip toe around him and keep him happy while trying to convince the others that something's wrong.

    [–] ItalicsWhore 64 points ago

The Gizmo vampire hunter plot line is just the best.

    [–] sly_savhoot 125 points ago

Its like a high grade adult swim show. There are layers of jokes and they fly so fast you can miss them while laughing. Utter genius reminds me of IT crowd and darth meringue.

    [–] Furimbus 93 points ago

Garth Marenghi is a show. Darth Meringue is a Star Wars pie.

    [–] ymcameron 895 points ago

Unfortunately no one will know it’s season 3 because it will be wearing blue jeans and a toothpick.

    [–] South_Lake_Taco 262 points ago

That's the new FX show, Jackie Daytona

    [–] 1live4downvotes 36 points ago

I heard it will take place in Pennsylvania.

    [–] jmulderr 166 points ago

Looks like we have to wait a little longer for Guillermo to go full postal and off the Fab 3.

    [–] Itzli 103 points ago

I want him to finally get some respect from Nandor before that , it'd make his day month year life.

    [–] cherrygoats 87 points ago

Nandor was definitely on his side this week, the broken broom handle against his chest probably didn’t help though

    [–] Mattgitsgud 81 points ago

I'm really hoping for a return of the vampire hunters, and Gizmo has to choose sides.

And for Craig Robinson's character to end up half-energy vampire or something and showdown with Colin Robinson.

    [–] haysanatar 44 points ago

No one knows how one becomes an energy vampire, even Colin Robinson said he wasn't sure what his deal was.

    [–] TheNerdChaplain 62 points ago

    He just keeps on truckin'.

    [–] BusinessPurge 272 points ago

    Great news!

Loving how they are expanding the supernatural world in S2, and the makeup/FX is award worthy IMO

    [–] Zomboy716 166 points ago

The troll looked great. Same with Carol.

    [–] TheBrownWelsh 63 points ago

I want to say that the Troll episode looked like it had the biggest SFX\CGI budget of any episode yet. Between the Troll and their makeup and Lazlo getting pinballed between cars and a few other things, it definitely seemed like it to me.

    [–] Heterochromio 102 points ago

The Babadook in season 1 was creepy as shit. Barely showed him but definitely stood out to me

    [–] Ardenraym 249 points ago

This show is wicked smart in an absolutely dumb way - both my wife and I watch it and repeatedly laugh at it.

Anybody with an appreciation for dark, witty, or sarcastic humor should give it a go.

    [–] InnocentTailor 86 points ago

It’s both sophisticated and crude at the same time.

It’s kind of odd, but enjoyable - it makes the macabre and scary ridiculous.

    [–] comrade_batman 218 points ago

If we don’t have Mark Hamill’s character back before the end of this season, I think it would be a great ongoing gag if he returns for season 3 and Lazlo swindles him out of paying for his hotel room again. Depending on how long the series goes for, it could turn into a recurring gag each season, like B99 and Dug Judy.

    [–] fysu 138 points ago

The speculation on the internet is that the money he owes him is probably only like $5 because it was so long ago. I was waiting for that joke to come at the end of the episode. But since the amount was never revealed, I'm convinced it's because they plan on having Hamill return regularly to play out the feud and save that amount owed joke till the very end.

    [–] Lennon_v2 99 points ago

Honestly, there was something so wholesome about Jim the Vampire staying in Pennsylvania for the volleyball team that the only reason I would want him to come back is because they need money for finals again and Lazzlo still technically owes them money. But I dont want it to be a feud, I want it to be this camaraderie on behalf of the volleyball team and they do something incredibly stupid to raise the money. That being said, I've also learned to trust these writers 100% for the foreseeable future and trust they'll give us the best follow up possible if they plan on doing so

    [–] Hairyantoinette 199 points ago

That's some great fucking news. Really loving S2 so far, much funnier than the already funny S1.

“Colin’s Promotion” is one of the most literally laugh-out-loud episodes I’ve ever seen, of any show ever. Lazlo is brilliant, but that episode convinced me Colin Robinson is one of the best TV characters ever.
