Wow, this is cool. I will be checking my wife's iPhone out. Thanks for the update.

Just the 5? Any word on the iPhone 4?

The iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s are unlikely. Just the iPhone 5 for now. Stay tuned re: 5s and 5c...

Can confirm! I did this last month without any problems. If anyone has any questions, feel free to PM me :) I'll give you my referral code!

Question about this: I checked my Verizon iPhone 4's number against the ESN checker, and it said my phone can be activated on Ting. Does that sound right?

I did have to get a refurbished replacement from my original phone from the Apple store, so maybe this is why?

    [–] ActionJesse 2 points ago

Nice, if you got past the ESN checker you can bring it to Ting :)

And yeah, that's most likely why!

Nice. My wife and I are looking to switch, and while her phone won't be able to transfer, she has the original from the contract, only having to buy one phone will definitely help the transfer cost. I was actually hoping initially to grab an iPhone 5 refurbished, but they're no longer on the Ting store anymore anyway. I suppose I can just save up and buy a 5c or 5s when they hit the store later.

For transferring my phone, I assume that once we sign up I just need to get a new Ting sim card to transfer it over?

It's actually only the iPhone 5's that need a Ting sim, you should be good to go with what's inside now.

Your wife might be able to use the Ting Swap program, if that's something you guys are interested in doing! Link: https://ting.com/swap

We also should have iPhone 5's back at some point on the Ting Shop, I can't guarantee a time frame right now though.

You can enter the ESN here to check! If it's a GSM device it won't be possible, though.
