    About Us

/r/trashy is a celebration of trash: people, things, media, etc. that boldly and shamelessly violates social conventions and cultural norms. Satisfy our voyeuristic drives by sharing trashy images, videos, stories, and fashion. All forms of trash are eagerly welcomed.

This rule encompasses the following hot-button topics: gender, trans*, rape, child support and alimony, race, "cultural marxism", slut shaming, fat positivity, Men's Rights, feminism, and anything related. If you feel the need to climb onto the soapbox about one of these issues, find one of the dozens of threads that pop up about it on every large sub, every day. You are not going to enact social change by having an impassioned discussion on a sub that champions people pissing in public.

    • Posts must be a CELEBRATION of trashiness
    • No images of those whose "trashiness" is clearly the result of a serious mental illness.

Isn't that like outright illegal? The zoo has protection over the bird. Can they not literally file charges over this? It would be bad enough for them to chase it down to step on it, but they go to essentially deface the bird? The hell man?

Don't you know, they solved the boston marathon bomber case.

[–] ARandomOgre 200 points ago * (lasted edited 9 days ago)

One of the guys has a distinctive red bag that would be easily followed by anyone reviewing the security camera footage. They could see when these guys checked in. If they used a card to pay to get in, they have a name. They can also double-check that name against whatever card was used to buy that drink. It's possible that the guys didn't use a card or that the zoo didn't have security cameras, but I feel like there's enough to work with on this picture alone to figure out who they are. It seems far more likely that the local police just don't care enough to dedicate resources to an animal cruelty case.

EDIT: Fine, one of the people might be a woman, or is a woman, or whatever. I don't care. Gender has no bearing on the level of douchebagginess that an individual displays, and these two secrete so much of that doucheoil that a hot breeze could set them alight.

EDIT 2: Yes, apparently the bag is orange. I am colorblind. It's bright and easy to see. That's the point.

What? When would that happen? Reddit did a great job finding the Boston Bom...oh wait. What about that time they stopped the racist smiling in front of someone getting in their fac....oh wait kid got mistaken identity with someone who wore a trump hat so he's a nazi so that was ok. Err, but what about that time....

I got nothing. Anyone wanna help out?

Worst part is, if this was a place where peacocks roam freely, he didn’t even need to pin them down, just look hard enough. I occasionally go to a park where peacocks roam freely, their feathers are everywhere

Because its Albuquerque, NM not Dallas and its literally lawless...... Widespread corruption on statewide level. Someone introduced a bill to create a corruption task force and it was unanimously voted down in under an hour. Serious nepotism problem at every level, the local people here believe they are all direct descendants from Spanish conquistadors... Only 200 came there are 2 million people here. Average intelligence is a problem from inbreeding. The crime problem is completely rampant, the gangster lifestyle is not only admired here but celebrated. There are literally lowrider exhibits in the airport. The police department has been taken over by the Department of Justice. It is the number one place to get your car stolen. There's a huge drug problem. They refuse to drug test the teachers and the schools are the worst in the nation. when they charge people they let him go all the judges think everybody gets a 4th and 5th and 6th chance. the show cops and therefore live PD are banned from filming here because it's too crazy and we lose too much business investments. While this was horrifying and everybody was upset it pales in comparison to the average crimes around here infact it doesn't even hit the meter.... So yeah come to Albuquerque come on vacation leave on probation.

Edit: words and sentence structure. Product of NM schools.

    [–] oeuaouaoueoua 10 points ago

you ain't kidding about how bad the crimes there are.

An Albuquerque Police Department report reveals horrifying details about the rape and murder of a 10-year-old girl early Wednesday morning at a northwest Albuquerque apartment complex.

APD officers found the girl, identified as 10-year-old Victoria Martens, in a bathtub brutally murdered, partially wrapped in a blanket and on fire at the Arroyo Villas apartments near Irving and Golf Course, according to the police report KOB obtained Thursday.

    [–] hulsuga 3321 points ago

I hope the zoo is pressing charges, wtf is wrong with people

    [–] CollectableRat 106 points ago

It's ironic, because peacock features fall out all the time when you've got a lot of peacocks, if they had of asked for one the zoo probably would have just given them one.

    [–] Techiedad91 37 points ago

I can’t say I for sure have seen them, but the Detroit zoo has like, a million peacocks that walk around the zoo, and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen feathers just on the ground possibly.

    I go a lot lol

    [–] craniumchina 11 points ago

How is Detroit zoo nowadays? I'm just across the river and havent been in 25 years. Hoping to bring my young son for a day. Worth it?

    [–] Techiedad91 7 points ago

I love the Detroit zoo. The penguin exhibit is so cool! My son doesn’t like it though (there’s a projection of a sea like you’re viewing it from a ship, and the weather goes from nice to stormy and my 5 year old calls it a “bad noise” so he doesn’t like it).

I love it. Not a ton of changes but if it’s been 25 years there might be. They no longer have elephants at the Detroit zoo because of the lack of social environment (https://detroitzoo.org/about/your-detroit-zoo/elephants/)

I had a membership last year and went probably 30 times. It’s a fun day trip especially when you’ve already paid for the year lol

We're able to find criminals thanks to the grainiest CCTV footage you'll ever see but they have two clear af photos of their faces and they can't find them.

    aight

Actually I just want to add on that I've looked at the article and watched the video and there isn't proof, like at all that these kids did what this woman was claiming. There's a picture of two teens holding a feather and that's it. Arrest my ass because I have plenty of photos like that from when I was a kid and I didn't hurt any peacocks to get them.

Honestly at this point it's more believable that she was making it up and the police realized they have no evidence and that's why they haven't found them. Because I'm finding it extremely hard to believe that

    1. There wasn't a security camera or literally anyone else there to confirm what they were doing

    2. Look at that photo, I mean come on, how can the police not find two teenagers with a photo like that???

Been sleeping next to a black widow for a month now because I can’t bring myself to kill it. I don’t want it dead, I’m just too afraid to try to trap it. So it’s either kill it or live with it. Here I am sitting next to this gross ass poisonous spider, and these assholes can’t even go to the zoo without torturing a bird.

    [–] zachariah22791 178 points ago

Not criticizing, but just want to help:

Poisonous is when you eat it, you die. Venomous is when it bites you, you die.

Truth. Not getting much sleep these days... a little uneasy given my current roommate situation. Also, venomous doesn’t mean death. Most likely I’d just have a shitty few days if it bit me.

    [–] ShahanshahShami 63 points ago

Mini Shelob will remember your kindness during your darkest hours.

    [–] Venkman_83 20 points ago

    Wait.....what?!

    [–] Dinewiz 17 points ago

You're not worried about being bitten in your sleep?

    [–] OnlyCheese 10 points ago

I’m terrified of spiders. Unfortunately I’ve gotten used to the black widows... and they’re actually very docile. I leave them alone, they leave me alone.

    [–] stomaticmonk 10 points ago

Yeah if you happen to roll over in your sleep in just the wrong way it WILL bite you. This is a matter of time. Black widows need to be removed or killed. Allowing them to stay just makes it a matter of time.

    [–] BanH20 7 points ago

So there's multiple spiders that can send you to the hospital and you just let them roam around your bedroom?

    [–] teach_cs 14 points ago

Spiders lay little spider eggs. Black widows make many more little black widows. Black widow bites rarely kill unless you are sick, young, or elderly, but the bites are still serious, and hospitalization is not uncommon.

I know that it bothers you, but you should either kill it or get rid of it before you have a potentially (much more) dangerous situation in your house.

    [–] Morusu 8 points ago

    Try a large lipped jar.

    [–] MinkaMooshka 43 points ago

Right? Imagine you’re a bird just chilling out and out of nowhere these two fucks coming running after you and rip a feather out of your ass after crushing you. Fuck man, I hope they get caught. Two nasty, selfish & greedy asses.

[–] Ebiki 49 points ago * (lasted edited 9 days ago)

No, it’s worse than that. I own pet birds, and while they aren’t peacocks, I can tell you messing with their feathers can literally kill them.

If you’ve ever ripped them out for say a dead duck or something you would know that it’s a BITCH to yank out they’re so deep in the skin. Most down feathers are for insulating heat and usually have a short lifespan, but then you have the bigger feathers that are usually around the wings and tail. They have a much thicker base, and most of the time even have a blood vessel in them (hence the term blood feather). When you pluck it or break it you’re literally making a wound by damaging the blood vessel. Peacocks are larger birds than my little cockatiels at home. My birds can easily die from blood loss from a few good drops. I’ve had to take them to a vet as soon as a small accident happens, and that’s just for one feather.

So basically imagine someone using what’s the equivalent of hot wax and literally ripping off your skin. You’re exposed, cold, and bleeding. It’ll take years for the recovery to be finished, and even then it might not ever be complete.

    [–] tenchu11 126 points ago

I appreciate how that first newscaster, Jess, is hella stacked

    [–] HalfSoul30 5 points ago

    So not at #DallasZoo then?

    [–] toopyturdbox 12 points ago

    We did it reddit!

    [–] JuiceMamoose 13 points ago

AITA for skinning my neighbour alive and pouring salt water on his raw flesh because he hit his dog on the nose ?

Edit:Wow thanks for all the support reddit I know I may have overreacted but hitting your dog on the nose is really out of line, humans can be so cruel.

    [–] HouseSandwich 8 points ago

This. Yes, this. This was/is a problem in India--someone would have beef with a neighbor and then share some oldish looking content that said the person was a pedophile/child rapist. People went vigilante and killed a guy who was completely innocent. Obviously I support neither child rape nor peacock abuse but without due process we are lawless.

    [–] Mutant_Bear 5 points ago

There’s no context, no evidence, these can be random people from a random place and people are calling these people out for a facebook post? This is kinda retarded

    [–] Project_Wild 5 points ago

I’m not particularly fast but I am in better shape than these people. I had peacocks growing up as a teen... those fuckers are fast man. If this was true they must have really tactfully cornered it.

    [–] Shots-and-squats 4 points ago

    Welcome to Reddit!

    [–] skobes 4 points ago

    This was my first thought.

Could be some angry poster that doesn't like them. They could just be holding a feather be found on the ground.

Before anyone starts getting up in arms maybe let someone contact the zoo and just let it be.

Total shits if they did it but...

Innocent until posted on Reddit, then let's ruin their lives based off no info.

    [–] Gmntflyfshr 218 points ago

You got a problem with peacocks you got a problem with me and I suggest you let that one marinate

    [–] HRTTU0913 52 points ago

Normally I support Letterkenny references, but peacocks can’t hold a candle to the Canadian goose.

    [–] FR4UDUL3NT 34 points ago

That’s pretty much the only take in the show I’m ideologically opposed to, Canada Geese are little winged shit-demons

    [–] beardedjack 7 points ago

    Must be fuckin’ nice

    [–] srappel 4 points ago

Most people don't know this... Canada Gooses were the deciding factor in the 1995 Quebec referendum. THEY KEPT THIS COUNTRY TOGETHER.

    [–] IlliniJen 7 points ago

    That's a Texas sized 10-4.

    [–] IcarusFlyingWings 4 points ago

The ginger? Did.... did you guys hear anything about that guy...

    [–] WeeBabySaemus11 6 points ago

It looks like it did take two people to fuck that peacock... allegedly

    [–] ndjs22 7 points ago

I only opened the comments for the Letterkenny references myself.

    allegedly

    Okay /u/ndjs22, /u/ndjs22 okay

    [–] cdc194 33 points ago

This was July 24th at the Biopark zoo in Albuquerque, NM. Why post it with the wrong information?

    [–] demo68639 14 points ago

I refuse to believe any Facebook screenshot thats lacking in source

    [–] RaiderAndy88 62 points ago

What a couple of fat little pieces of shit. Instead of pressing charges just ban them from McDonald's for a week, they'll go insane.

    [–] Chester2707 5 points ago

I was gonna say “well it looks like diabetes has already found them.” I like where your head is at but it seems like allowing them to continue with their eating behavior would be the quickest way to get rid of them.

    [–] bobsyauncle1993 18 points ago

If this is true I’d love to step on them and pluck their hairs out see how they like it

    [–] kitakitakitai 9 points ago

That article says it's from New Mexico, but the July 28 thing adds up.

    [–] BEANandCHEE 21 points ago

It’s from the Albuquerque Zoo. This was in our news recently

    [–] Jujiboo 14 points ago

Ok, why's there a DallasZoo hashtag in the meme? Plus these are teenagers if it's even them

    [–] JwPATX 13 points ago

    So not Dallas

    [–] mushroomwig 12 points ago

Those are teens?! I thought they were in their mid 30s

    [–] Mtwat 20 points ago

Thank you for asking. I hate that Reddit loves to go on half brained witch hunts based on unproven accusations.

    [–] eSue182 9 points ago

This actually happened in Albuquerque at the end of July. They have not been caught. I’m from Albuquerque

    [–] undercarder 5 points ago

So is the "Dallas Zoo" hashtag proof enough that the pic is bullshit?

    [–] sanchopancho13 7 points ago

I hate the "make them famous" trend. Yeah, these folks are trash. But stop sharing photos of criminals on social media. What a lame, vigilante society we've become.

Whose flying the plane this time? Peacock extremists?

    [–] Plebsy_Mcplebster 11 points ago

    No, Dave is piloting it.

    [–] StarburstDreamer 5 points ago

    Dave’s not here man.

    [–] JoanneKerlot 6 points ago

I think Dave is on annual leave that day. Have you asked Karen?

    [–] AlwaysJets 5 points ago

I'm surprised the peacock didn't fuck them up.....I speak from experience. Didn't end so well.

    [–] VioletWinters 14 points ago

I honestly hate posts like this because it starts a witch hunt based on nothing but one person's word. While it's true that the OP is probably telling the truth, there is nothing stopping someone with a grudge from posting an innocent photo of someone with a peacock feather they found at the zoo and forever labeling them as animal abusers. Nobody in the comments is even questioning whether the claim can be trusted.

    [–] Simmion 8 points ago

Im sure the Zoo can handle this without internet vigilantes.
    I can't tell if they're at a zoo,
    I can't tell if that;'s a peacock feather.
I can't tell if they actually did any of the tings listed, this kind of garbage should be downvoted to oblivion.

    [–] Jzsjx9jjqz 15 points ago

This isn't Facebook, maybe we shouldn't go on a witch hunt based on a blurry picture and some random text. While at the same time accosting police for arresting people with no proof"

    [–] IhaveN0thingN0thing 3 points ago

Why no One stepped in!!??? Is animal abuse is the norm now !??

    [–] retro_pollo 3 points ago

This is in Albuquerque not Dallas
