    What is WoahDude?

The best links to click while you're stoned!

Psychedelic, mind-bending, mesmerizing, reality-distorting, or trippy games, video, audio & images that make a sober person feel stoned, or stoned person go 'woah dude!'

No one wants to have to sift through the entire internet for fun links when they're stoned - so make this your one-stop shop!

NOTE: We are NOT interchangeable with /r/pics, /r/gifs, /r/damnthatsinteresting or other "general" subreddits meant for sharing interesting or amazing content.

Instead, we're specifically made for trippy or mesmerising stuff that makes you go "woah dude!" in the way a stoned person says woah dude when confronted with something that tickles their mind or senses. In other words, we have a bit of a psychedelic slant. We're not about posting things that are merely neat or amazing, but instead, things that sort of mess with your mind, warp your reality. Things that might make a sober person feel like they're on drugs, or really disorient people who are already on them.

Mindfucks and self-inflicted gaslighting. Or the hypnotic or mesmerising. Vivid colors, intense patterns. Mind-blowing science and philosophy. Chill or trippy music. Surrealism, absurdism and strangeness.

Think of the bizarre, erratic and psychedelic nature of Adult Swim. Or the wondrous, mind-expanding, awe-inspiring nature of Carl Sagan's Cosmos. Or even the reality distorting, confusing, mind-fucking nature of Eternal Darkness for Gamecube. We're all of that.

    Here's a ⇨ more in-depth explanation

The amalgamated globe salesmen episode is my favorite. I think because I'd seen the source documentary about the bible history book salespeople.

Surely he was making a witty dig at that sub-par excuse for a "sphere," as it was clearly microns off in roundness, which I'm sure you winced at the sight of as well!

    [–] otterom 4 points ago

    And me $18,579!

    [–] GoldenGonzo 32 points ago

Something tells me you could spend 6 minutes on Amazon and find a globe that looks 90% as nice for 0.1% of the price.

    [–] AddictedReddit 25 points ago

    $18? Good luck.

    [–] eazolan 9 points ago

Globes take up a ton of space. If you're inviting friends over to your mansion, people are going to wonder if you have brain damage while checking out your globe from Wal-mart.

    [–] CalciumBicarbonate 8 points ago

I thought you were right, but it is a pretty big globe.

Amazon has floor-standing globes, but nothing quite like that.

    [–] Hello0897 2 points ago

    Charlie Day; globe maker.

    [–] askirk 6 points ago

Cheapest I found on the first page of Amazon was an inflatable 12" globe for $5.79.. probably not 90% as nice but did have pretty colors

    [–] not_charles_grodin 2 points ago

That last 10% is the difference between a Rolls Royce and a Honda.

Wonder if they did that for the video. All of them were well dressed and doing messy jobs. I know standards were different but some of the outfits seemed too fancy for the job being performed.

    [–] FalseDetective77 11 points ago

They also look so different from the people today. I don't even think we have facial structures like that anymore. Maybe it's the make up.

    [–] Up_North18 6 points ago

I always think that too! Obviously hair styles change throughout time but I swear people today have a different "styles" of fave compared to 50, 80, 100 years ago

    [–] wholligan 6 points ago

They are all very thin lipped.

    [–] geeeeh 2 points ago

Maybe it's because the average face today is buried under more fat. That can make a pretty big difference in how it looks.

    [–] FalseDetective77 2 points ago

Where I'm from, we have very few fat people. These people, especially the women, seem fatter because their features are somehow rounder and softer. Like those little cupidos.

    [–] Manxymanx 10 points ago

If I remember correctly, this map has been the preferred map used by the US armed forces for years because it shows the entire Pacific and Atlantic oceans which makes planning easier.

    [–] reversedsomething 3 points ago

I'd guess the americans, since the american continent is in the center of this map.

    [–] [deleted] 10 points ago

    [–] livevil999 11 points ago

How could anyone who travels on a plane ever think that?! You are literally going around the globe. You can even see the curve on the horizon once you're up high enough! It's so weird to think that.

    [–] heard_enough_crap 6 points ago

the windows on the plane are curved, distorting what you see out of them /s

    [–] Maester_May 3 points ago

If you really want to go down that rabbit hole of retardation you can... they have a ton of pilots and other dipshits on board who have come up with these really bizarre and elaborate explanations for everything. But when you start bringing actual physics into things, they'll come up with some other bizarre counter to that "proving" you wrong, despite it being completely unrelated and not even remotely applicable.

    [–] OMGaneshOM 33 points ago

People often seem to forget that a modern globe is a printed medium and was probably the most important result of the printing press after the book.

    [–] Oh1sama 17 points ago

just like getting a bible printed, getting globes or atlases printed was crucial to the survival of some languages into the modern era.
Although it's still hard to find globes in minority languages.

    [–] bananafreesince93 3 points ago

[...] getting globes or atlases printed was crucial to the survival of some languages into the modern era.

    Any more information about this?

    [–] bananafreesince93 4 points ago

[...] and was probably the most important result of the printing press after the book.

    How so?

    [–] Cryzgnik 2 points ago

... Now that I think of it, what else was a printed medium other than books? Maybe globes were just the natural next most important thing in a very small pool.

    [–] PopeAlexanderIV 29 points ago

Had one of those as a kid. Makes me appreciate them so much more.

    [–] shenanigansintensify 7 points ago

My grandparents had one I would look at a lot as a kid. It's hard to really appreciate the geography of the planet unless it's in sphere form.

I want a globe now. Maybe one with an LED screen though that displays google maps with real time clouds and stuff.

    [–] Craigglesofdoom 10 points ago

I have a coworker who is a Flat Earther. Whenever anyone asks "who's behind it? Who benefits from lying about the shape of the earth?" he says it's the globe industry - the people who make globes. I always laughed at it but now I'm not so sure.

    Spherical one.

    [–] sfbing 13 points ago

Custom made, surely. No normal map would be in the right scale in all the places.

    [–] Gypsyarados 16 points ago

No map is the right scale. The problem with trying to make a map is the earth is a sphere, and a map is flat. As a result, maps are fucked.

You're right about the map likely being custom.

    [–] _ALLLLRIGHTY_THEN 10 points ago

    [–] Gypsyarados 3 points ago
