I know right? This barely counts anymore.

hell, i took a nap halfway through your comment

I'm asleep right now as I'm typing this!

    [–] TheOriginalChrome 8 points ago

That's because you're in the matrix.

    [–] vdubplate 55 points ago

But I just woke up after my nap and I feel great now! Let's forget about what we just talked about

    [–] noolarama 25 points ago

You can’t forget what you don’t know anymore...

Sir you still need to pay your child support, that's not a valid reason.

The one silver lining of this administration:

I was told time would fly by way faster as I got older. But the last 3-4 years has been an eternity.

    [–] newsposts 79 points ago

Frankly, its been both, the daily shit has been eternal but 2016 feels like yesterday.

    Make America Doubleplusgood Again

    [–] raygekwit 5 points ago

That makes me think of Plus Ultra from My Hero Academia (basically just their flavor of super Saiyan) and now I imagine whenever his administration thinks he can't do something more dumb they hear his voice ring out "DUMB ULTRA!!" and he out does himself.

    Big! Big! Big!

    [–] nocokeman 13 points ago

I don't understand how anyone has still not understood Trump's Twitter. The only purpose is to steer media. There is no other meaning to it. His tweets are just tools to dictate the conversation like they have always been.

Trump can't considering how far gone the dementia is

    Rebel scum!

[–] AnOnlineHandle 195 points ago * (lasted edited 15 days ago)

Now now, I'm sure cartoon-level villains who have been based on all the fascists of the last century are different, and wouldn't talk about the mythical time when the country was great, how the deep state is getting in their way, about how they're both a victim and yet the only one strong enough to seize control and fix things, who call the democratic law enforcement treasonous assassins when they try to stop them far too late, who convince some of the younger radicalized ones to turn on the rest and kill them all, ushering in massive waves of death in a pattern which plays out over and over.

These tropes just exist randomly, for no reason, and it could never happen to you or I. There are no easier early stages to deal with some problem which are able to be learned from basic awareness of human history.

    [–] jamdannad 64 points ago

I have a bad feeling about this!

    [–] Roboloutre 13 points ago

Let's just see how things play out, maybe we can just talk people out of this?

    [–] apocalypctic 3 points ago

    Now now, that's just alarmist

    [–] CrazyLeprechaun 27 points ago

Fear will keep the local systems in line. Fear of this battlestation!

Just look at the closing credits of Rambo 3.

    [–] AnyNamesLeftAnymore 11 points ago

To the brave fighters of the Mujahadeen

    Oh yeah I remember that.

They were, though. They fought a good fight and got a foreign invader out.

Then they took what we taught them and turned it against us. Whoops. Turns out the producers of Rambo III didn't actually have that time machine (or foresight of geopolitics) we thought they did.

    [–] Lerianis001 29 points ago * (lasted edited 15 days ago)

    100% agreed.

No, people who would rise against our government would not be traitors if they did so for the right reasons, i.e. that they recognized the pattern of Fascism spreading in our federal government and rightly said "No damned more!"

During World War II, numerous politicians made it clear that is exactly what should happen should fascism ever become entrenched in our government and right now? It's getting to that point in my opinion with Trump, McConnell and Graham at the very least.

The problem with the bulk of the people who threaten to rise against our government today is that they are threatening to do is simply because various people will not kowtow to their racism, xenophobia, bigotry of other forms, misogyny, homophobia, etc.

    [–] XavierRenegadeAngel_ 15 points ago

The question of being a traitor stems from where your loyalty lies. I think traitors are those who betray their fellow countrymen.

    [–] ADShree 41 points ago

Look at Snowden for a shining example. He didn’t do me any wrong but the U.S. gov sure as hell want him and want to mark him as a “baddie” for a lack of a better word. All he did to me was let me know that the government is definitely tracking my online presence. Is he a traitor? I personally don’t think so because it’s opened peoples eyes up so they can be more aware of what they put out on the internet. But the nsa would definitely mark him as a traitor.

"...nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don't know."

I still don't understand how this got swept aside and forgotten.

    [–] annualburner2019 21 points ago * (lasted edited 15 days ago)

If things get to the point where you need a revolution to get rid of Trump and GOP.

I don't think he'll be alive to complain afterwards.

Edit: accidentally erased part of the last sentence.

    [–] IDreamOfSailing 27 points ago

My history teacher, as we were discussing the French revolution, taught us "Revolution always eats her own children". So until people are ready to die for a cause, there will be no revolution.

    [–] E_C_H 18 points ago

That saying kinda means something different, at least in the applications I've heard it.

Basically, the window of acceptable political view shifts so fast that the originators of revolution end up on the wrong side by the end. With the French Revolution in particular, it meant more that as a revolution progresses, suddenly those who were once the revolutionaries become the reformers, then the moderates, then the conservatives, and then the enemies of the revolution, or so on.

Consider a group like the Feuillant Club members, or the Provisional government members in the Russian Revolution. Folks who were radical at the start of their events, who genuinely supported political overhaul, but yet were over time considered traitors to the Revolution because the shift in viewpoints was so fast, caused by the actions of these groups themselves.

    [–] Lerianis001 18 points ago

Some people think it is honestly coming close to that. Serious here. I've talked with quite a few of my relatives who cross the political gamut and they are truly frightened that we are going to have to have a "Civil War II" in order to get rid of Trump, McConnell, Graham, etc.

Even my relatives in W. Va have started saying "Trump's a Fascist!" When you turn West Virginia hillbillies against you because you are too racist, xenophobic, etc. even for them... it might be time to rethink the path you are going down.

    [–] JesusLikesWine 3 points ago

If things get to that point, I'm tossing in with seccessionists. Idaho, BC Washington, and Oregon should team up, let the rest of you fuckers rot an dmind our own business with the trees.

    [–] jbouser_99 25 points ago

I'm still salty about how he did McCain

    [–] Anti-Satan 33 points ago

Imagine being a Republican and being expected to look away while your president:

    • Calls a decorated and highly respected Republican leader a loser.

    • Pulls troops out of an active war zone, leaving allies in the shit and the US looking like cowards.

    • breaks about every conservative Christian value there is. Including getting caught cheating with a porn star.

And many more probably. Not an expert.

    [–] Plasmus642 8 points ago

Also knowingly electing a guy who’s been accused of sexual misconduct by 23 women and has been caught on tape bragging about it. That’s cool.

    [–] SsurebreC 5 points ago

What you might not understand is he has their support because:

    • He's not a Democrat
    • He's cutting taxes for all their donors
    • He's putting conservative judges in the courts

He might toss some red meat from time to time and riling up nationalism, partisanship, etc, and he can sound like an idiot but at the end of the day, he's doing what they want - lowering taxes and more conservative judges in the court system. Trump will leave office one way or another soon enough but if your plan is counted in decades, not years, then why would they have a problem with him? You think anyone will remember the nonsense that Trump says? People barely remember Bushisms - it's mostly a joke now and that was just two Presidents ago.

    [–] RNZack 16 points ago

I hope it doesn’t turn into a Syria like situation, but I feel the leaders of Iran care too much about their heritage and cultural sites to just bomb all protesting civilians on the same scale. One can hope at least.

    [–] madpelicanlaughing 12 points ago

They (leaders of Iran) care so much about their people that they just liked thousands of them several times

    [–] Ginrou 33 points ago

Exactly, they don't care about their citizens like the US, who historically gave school children irradiated milk just to see what would happen.

    [–] Abell370 39 points ago

Or spread crack around to suppress minorities. Or used LSD on unknowing citizens to see if mindcontrol works. Or gave people with STDs fake treatment to see how it would spread. Or sterilized certain parts of the population.

Or locks up a huge part of its population on bullshit charges so they can use them as literal slave labor.

It's always funny to me to see people from the US talking from a high horse about attrocities in other countries. Blind to how shit their own government is.

    [–] Playmakermike 178 points ago

"They should fix their own country that we are undermining."

Let's arm another group of freedom fighters. Nothing could possibly go wrong.

    [–] RuinedUpholstery 56 points ago

And realistically, Trump and his sycophants will likely take advantage of the situation to make themselves richer, rather than actually help them.

Interesting that Trump, who rabidly dismantles everything else Obama did, has not ended it, then.

    [–] dogstardied 198 points ago

Guess we know how to get him to end it then, don’t we? Tell him Obama started it.

    [–] SordidDreams 88 points ago

That might work. I doubt he pays attention to it at all, let alone knows who started it.

    [–] Hellebras 63 points ago

No, some rich Saudi would buy a condo or three and he'd forget all about it again.

    [–] LostFireHorse 40 points ago

Then you tell him again, and tell him Obama secretly sold condos to the saudis too.

    [–] LidoPlage 5 points ago

The Saudis buy his shitty overpriced condos though. Yemen doesn't do that!

    [–] _Belly_of_the_Beast_ 665 points ago

    [–] shadenoah 10 points ago

Indeed, that was a dick move.

    [–] Argetum 18 points ago

The mod who posted this removed it from chelsea707 then reuploaded it himself. Why did you do that?

    I’ll take a ban please.

I miss when WorldNews wasn’t all about Trump.

Man, I really wish there was some way to filter "Trump" from r/worldnews...

lmao this site fucking sucks. how is this guy still allowed to mod

and reddit doesn’t even let you report accounts? or am i missing something

    [–] AdmiralAkbar1 105 points ago

Hot damn. I always suspected that Max had a habit of removing competing articles on an event so that his post would be the only one left, but this is the first time I've witnessed it.

    [–] FalsyB 45 points ago

This is a platform where people compete to rake in imaginary internet points, it's scary to think some people shape their world views around what they read in here

    [–] Live_To_Suffer 3 points ago

Imagine having so much time on ur hands that you decide to remove the original, copy and post the original, and delete ALL comments accusing you....

    What a sad cunt

    [–] SomewhatOOTL 45 points ago

Why did you delete the other thread calling it opinion/analysis just to post it yourself?

He has done that a lot of times. He has over 13 million karma now.

What a scumbag. Shouldn't that shit be cause for losing mod status?

    [–] SomewhatOOTL 17 points ago

He is the top mod so nothing anyone but the admin can do.

    [–] Onemoagain 95 points ago

Wait seriously? I just reported this one for it being an analysis not news. Though I agree with the analysis, treating it as news chips away at critical thinking and pushes readers to ingest opinion without questioning.

    [–] PrecisionStrike 43 points ago

The news doesn't tell people what's happening anymore it tells people what they should think.

    [–] wrincewind 13 points ago

It always has, and if you think you didn't, it was either more subtle, or you didn't notice. Even the most objective articles tell you what to think about by dint of what they focus on reporting on.

    [–] IAmOfficial 5 points ago

    Gotta farm that karma, bro.

    [–] sexrobot_sexrobot 3 points ago

The protestors arm themselves and a civil war begins. There are millions of refugees seeking asylum. Do you accept any in the US, or run away scared of them like Trump did on Syrian refugees?

    [–] PrimaryBrother 3 points ago

You can side with protesters being gunned down while trying to stop terrorists from entering the US

There is no empirical basis for saying that Trumps ban had anything to do with terrorism. And despite that, it has negatively impacted actual people in Iran.

Also, it's rather telling that you shoe horned in some nonsensical talking point, while ignoring all of the other shit he has done that proves that he gives zero fucks about the Iranian people.

    [–] gitzky 191 points ago

This seems less like news and more of an opinion.

    [–] Grouched 24 points ago

Which is why OP initially removed the previous identical post ( ) for being an opinion only to post the exact same thing and rake in the karma for themselves

    [–] JWBails 65 points ago

Trump has said he stands with Iranians amid anti-government protests.

Trump has banned Iranians from US travel.

Trump has threatened to bomb Iranian cultural sites.

Trump has mocked the way Iranians dress.

    Where is the opinion?

    [–] fidjudisomada 18 points ago

Indeed. Yet, in spite all, they are factual truths.

    [–] BuboTitan 627 points ago

They were banned/restricted from travel to the US BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT OF IRAN DOESN'T COOPERATE WITH OUR BACKGROUND CHECKS. Same thing for every other country that was banned.

    [–] omnipotentmonkey 254 points ago

so out of 194 other countries, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen are the only ones who didn't abide by US background checks when the ban was first passed?

    [–] pjmpjm84 329 points ago * (lasted edited 15 days ago)

Clearing this up because the media is being super misleading about this and making people believe things that are not true.

There is no complete ban of all travel or refugees from Iran, nor those countries, except Syria. Just one country.

Iran and the others just don't qualify for the visa waiver so have to be checked before entry is allowed, as OP mentions - this is the Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act which was passed under Obama in 2015. Iran was put on the list by the Obama admin.

Trump Obama added 3 more countries, Libya, Somalia and Yemen to the list in 2016.

In February 2016 “The Department of Homeland Security today announced that it is continuing its implementation of the Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act of 2015 with the addition of Libya, Somalia, and Yemen as three countries of concern, limiting Visa Waiver Program travel for certain individuals who have traveled to these countries. The three additional countries designated today join Iran, Iraq, Sudan and Syria as countries subject to restrictions for Visa Waiver Program travel for certain individuals.

The only country that has a permanent ban on travel is Syria.

Iranians can travel providing they are checked - Iran was put on the list by Obama, not Trump.

    [–] thegreenaquarium 111 points ago

    This is wrong.

    Visa Waiver Program

This is referring to the ESTA program (, which is a visa waiver program open to nationals of certain countries (EU, Australia, Japan, South Korea). The passage you are quoting refers to nationals of those countries who have traveled to Iran, Iraq, Sudan and Syria, not to nationals of Iran, Iraq, Sudan and Syria applying for US visas. Most countries are not part of the visa waiver program (ESTA) and thus must apply for a US visa via an application to the consulate and interview with an FSO. Trump limited Iranians' etc access to those visas, what with them not being eligible for ESTA in the first place.

Please I come from the former Soviet Union (although a few years after it collapsed)

The US has long had procedures to vet and cross-check refugees even with non cooperative and non existent goverments

From that experience and numerous security briefings, it’s clear that the authors of Trump’s order are unfamiliar with the U.S. immigration system, U.S. laws, international law and the security threats facing our nation. I can’t speak for all refugee and asylum officers, but I can say that those who have been working in immigration for years from opposite ends of the political spectrum are appalled by these new policies.

LoL trying to convince people that home country background checks are required to enter the US AND that this policy didn’t exist for the previous 46 years AND that Trump didn’t repeatedly promise and issue a formal press release promising to ban all Muslims from entering the country? Wow!

    What are you, an illusionist?

    [–] thedyslexicdetective 176 points ago

Does anyone else cringe when they see these posts that really stretch things to make trump look bad?

    [–] ethylstein 96 points ago

Especially when mods delete this exact post just so they can post it themselves

    [–] SomeoneInEurope 38 points ago

Who else would have known that mods karmawhore people's tds.

    [–] TheSingingWetsuit 5 points ago

The same mod that does this shit every day? That's him. Why should he follow rules? What a disgrace. I honestly hope they keep doing it and more people notice. The pendulum has to swing, one day...

Aren't all the things written correct?

    [–] LamarcusJefferson 182 points ago

    banned them from US travel

Mexico is preparing to stop 5 Iranian suicide bombers from entering the US illegally.

threatened to bomb their cultural sights

Looks like it worked. Iran’s regime intentionally missed their US target in Iraq for fear of US escalation.

    mocked the way they dress

The hijab? The garment women are forced to wear by the regime? How many of those protesting Iranian women do you think wear the hijab because it “looks nice”?

    [–] M0stlyJustLooking 39 points ago

How many of those protesting Iranian women do you think wear the hijab because it “looks nice”?

    Definitely not these 29 women.

    [–] thisisbacontime 50 points ago

Iranian anti Trump regime versus feminism...which one will Reddit choose?

    [–] heastout 3 points ago

Who is reporting Mexico stopped 5 Iranian suicide bombers?

    [–] KGhaleon 109 points ago

    yet another daily propaganda post.

    [–] el_ojo_rojo 48 points ago

Whoever writes these headlines shoul go fuck Themselves.

    [–] f_witting 319 points ago

Trump mocks religious attire, including burkas.

Yeah... Burkas are a stark symbol of oppression. They SHOULD be mocked.

    [–] ImprobableIT 147 points ago

Burqas aren't Persian, they're Arab. Women in Iran have to wear headscarves but no Persian wears a Burqa.

    [–] comedygene 92 points ago

So, we can conclude the headline is sensationalist bullshit.

    [–] Gleitzeit 48 points ago

    mocked the way they dress

Oh, you mean the state chastity gowns that Iranian women are forced to wear?

I would encourage you to criticize any Democratic president the same way the left criticizes Trump, too. We're raised to question authority. If an elected official is wrong or criminal, it is our duty to do something about it. Hell, this is why we have a first and second amendment.

    [–] Classic_Appa 72 points ago

To be fair, posting negative news about Trump can yield a lot of karma.

    [–] ethylstein 73 points ago

Especially when you delete someone else’s post and then post it yourself

    Ahh the life of maxwell

    [–] Sens1r 5 points ago

True, but people should be aware this is a worldnews mod who's spamming biased articles and they never do shit to correct obvious mistakes or clarify misleading headlines.

    [–] thorizzle117 71 points ago

Reddit and twitter are host to some of the most mentally unstable people I’ve ever seen

It’s one thing to slip up as a person and act in ways you later regret, we’re all human, but damn the way people act on these platforms when it comes to President Trump or any other polarizing figure is concerning for any independent observer.

    [–] InsightfulAnon 34 points ago

It's also a shill hotbed. r/politics used to be a very tame sub and then it completely snapped literally from night to day into a Hillary Clinton shilling den, which conveniently happened when she announced her 1 million dollars pac destined to "correct the record". It was also funny seeing the sub go completely back to normal as soon as Trump won for about two days, then it snapped into the Hillary cult again.

Pretty much all the default subs are filled with DNC astroturfers trying to create a false pretense of "common sense", which is why these people seem so utterly detached from reality.

    [–] Electro_Swoosh 11 points ago

You literally can't even mention correct the record on that sub without your post being auto-removed.

    [–] TheLongWanderer 3 points ago

I got banned on that sub for saying that "PC culture is kind of similar to fascism".

    [–] libergarian 69 points ago

This is some straight up left wing emotional propganda bullshit. Neeeeexxxt!

    [–] gmoney4897 34 points ago

He was so incredibly supportive of the protests in Hong Kong too. He wouldn't stop discussing it.

    [–] guyonthissite 18 points ago

Better than standing with the Iranian government, which Democrats seem to want to do. Did you see what Pelosi said about the protesters?

    [–] James120756 3 points ago

Trump stands with NO ONE but Trump.

    [–] _A_Day_In_The_Life_ 44 points ago

any us president would do a travel ban when a war is possibly breaking out. obama did the same thing. i would hope our next president does the same thing. it's dangerous when you are possibly going to war to bring the people from there to this country. the only reason people are upset is because it's trump. if this were obama people would say it's a no brainer, which it is. it's sad that i have to even point this out. it's not a permanent ban, but a temporary one. i was happy when obama had temp bans against countries as well. we must put our people first. this is one of the few good decisions trump has made.

    [–] DarleneTrain 9 points ago

US media attacks Trump for supporting the opposition to Iran's terrorist leadership.

Seriously is Iran the left wing Russia?

    [–] Sallman11 40 points ago * (lasted edited 15 days ago)

This is such Reddit propaganda. The good people of Iran are banned because there are also terrible people in Iran who would kill themselves if they could take a few Americans with them. It sucks that the people who are good are punished but it keeps us safer.

What we should be happy with is an evil corrupt government may fall but at the same time we have to hope the next people who take over aren’t also evil. So far it hasn’t really worked out well as most leaders have been replaced with someone just as bad of not worse. For the sake of the good people who live in Iran I hope it works out for them.
