[–] What piece of old technology do you still use to this day? 36monsters 2 points ago in AskReddit

My zune. Still works and has all the old albums I uploaded that later got stolen from my storage unit while I was deployed in the Navy.

[–] What's your "I know it sounds weird but you need to try this once!" Food combo? 36monsters 1 points ago in AskReddit

Chocolate chip cookies dipped in dark chocolate and then sprinkled with crushed potato chips. Mind blowing. Sweet+salty =heaven

Sweet pickle relish and peanut butter sandwiches are also delicious. Bread and butter chips (pickles) are so good with peanut butter

I agree completely. I actually did say my biggest frustration came from the fact that I was sad I was having a hard time getting my recipient to acknowledge they had even gotten the gifts.

[–] OMG the next batch starts on Monday! 36monsters 1 points ago in secretsanta

Oh. I am so sorry! Just thought it would be fun in addition to the reddit gifts. Ok, never mind on the gift exchange. I am doing the Halloween one through Reddit so fingers crossed I get one of you guys!

Once we get 3 uh, victims...I'll set up the details. :)

It was just a random exchange on a random day (hence the arbitrary) and it was really depressing. I spent a ton of time finding something for my match and it took over a month for them to even acknowledge they got it. All I got was an unmarked envelope with a $20 Walmart Giftcard that I'm still not entirely convinced was from my actual match and not part of something unrelated i was working on with some friends at the same time. Just so underwhelming. And my frustration comes more from the fact that i love seeing how the people I send gifts to react...not so much as getting them in return. I wa a just hoping they would be a little more excited. Oh well, I'll keep doing them because for every bad one, i do get really good ones. It's just the luck of the draw sometimes.

Hey, totally didn't mean to break any rules here so instead of the exchange I proposed, I look forward to possibly getting one of you guys for the Halloween one and promise to make sure my giftee gets some really fun and spooky stuff!

    :)

[–] I usually hate wreaths but I made one I like this year 36monsters 4 points ago in halloween

Oooh I like your version! I've been wanting to do one for ages and just have to go out and pick up some damn snakes. Beautifully done!

[–] Silly encounter today 36monsters 3 points ago in pokemongo

There is a gym near my house that is considered off the beaten path. The last time I popped a pokemon in there, it lasted for over 3 month and is often the only Pokemon in there. I've accrued over 170 days in the gym and have occasionally had to have my Instinct friend come over and bust them out for me. I was knocked out about 2 weeks ago by team Valor and I'm giving the one lonely Pokemon in there a courtesy 30 days before I go take it back. It's all so oddly civilized and has become one of my favorite gyms just because the people who do know about it (all different teams) are just so super chill about it.

[–] What are some awful things from the 70s, 80s, and 90s everyone seems to not talk about? 36monsters 2 points ago in AskReddit

I should have been more specific...our KITCHEN was avocado and goldenrod. When we moved in, my room was blue walls with red, white and blue shag carpet, my sisters room had black walls with yellow carpet and giant yellow footprints walking all around the room waist high on the walls and the bathroom was pepto bismal pink with carpet and gold accents. It was like the 70's had crawled in, violently vomited everywhere and then died an agonizing and torturous death.

[–] What are some awful things from the 70s, 80s, and 90s everyone seems to not talk about? 36monsters 5 points ago in AskReddit

I live in Idaho and when we moved into our house I grew up in, it was goldenrod and avocado everything (wallpaper, tile, paint!) with a fully carpeted kitchen and wood panelling in the basement. One of the first big renovations my parents did was to get rid of the kitchen carpet and replace it with hardwood. So gross.

[–] Has anyone here ever had to hand rear orphan rat pups? 36monsters 6 points ago in RATS

I have hand reared wild mice. It can be done. You want to get them eating as quickly as possible. Talk to your vet about a good replacement food for them. Here is an excellent guide: https://www.wikihow.com/Save-a-Baby-Wild-Mouse

Just substitute domestic rat with baby mouse and go from there.

Make sure you feed them on a regular schedule and you have to make sure they poo as soon as they are done eating and this means rubbing their butts with a soft, warm damp cloth. Feeding goes all night so kiss your sleep goodbye. You need to feed them every 2 to 3 hours until their eyes open and then can slowly taper off to 4 to 5 to 6 and then eventually they will be feeding themselves. This is HARD WORK and if you aren't up to it, look into a rescue or reach out to a local rat club for help or a foster momma rat. The rats you raise this way will be amazing, however, and well worth the sleepless nights. They will be friendlier, cuddler and absolutely bonded with you. Good luck!

[–] Feel like a loser for decorating 36monsters 6 points ago in halloween

Girl, you are no loser! I am single, much older than you, and have come to the point in my life where I've realized to truly live means to make yourself happy rather than doing what you think makes others happy. Decorate away, my little Halloween fiend...decorate away!

[–] Cut up a plastic cauldron and turned it into the coolest Howl-o-ween house for my best friend, Lucifur the Lord of Barkness. 36monsters 3 points ago in halloween

It's an 18" cauldron...the largest size we could get from the party store without having to special order. Lucifur is 10lbs and has a lot of room in there.

[–] Keeping a wild mouse as a pet? 36monsters 2 points ago in mice

Cheeky little guy! I'd give a rescue a call and see what they suggest for your area. Or if you have a neighbor you don't like...their back yard.

[–] Keeping a wild mouse as a pet? 36monsters 1 points ago in mice

How big is your mouse? Is it a baby? You can also look into local wild animal rescues and see if they have any room for him or suggestions for where they release the ones they get in.
