[–] Is there a friendship besides like the German- France friendship between countries? Maybe Hungary and Poland? AdamB1706 24 points ago in AskEurope

Ireland is somewhat suspect, there are plenty of people there, who with good reason, have a hatred of the English, less so with the other members of the Union.

[–] What other country's national team is also popular in your country? AdamB1706 11 points ago in AskEurope

We often feel the same. A lot harder when the underdogs are knocking you out though.

The thought makes me sick. The only thing decent about being an England fan until recently was that Scotland were worse.

[–] do you feel really connected to your city or region as opposed to say your nation? AdamB1706 3 points ago in AskEurope

This comment was ironically inspired by a comment I saw made by a Scott a few days ago. But it's definitely more common in English people.

It really depends on who I'm speaking to.

If I meet someone from my county I'm from X city. If I meet someone in the UK I'm English. Once I leave the UK I'm British.

My sense of identity is somewhat fluid I don't rigorously stick to one label.

[–] Is it common to drink alcohol in public places like squares, parks, ecc.? AdamB1706 36 points ago in AskEurope

Are you even British if you didn't spend your underage years getting pissed in the park?

[–] Are there many regional accents in your country? Do you like them? AdamB1706 1 points ago in AskEurope

My dad is a manc and steadfastly refuses that there's one that sounds Scouse. Rattles his cage everytime I mention it.

They use words we stoped using a 100 yrs ago

    Do you have any examples?

It was thinking about the different Yorkshire accents near me that inspired the question.

[–] How's the quality of your cursive handwriting? AdamB1706 3 points ago in AskEurope

Terrible, I was advised by my teachers to give up on it in the hopes my writing would be legible.

At that point in my time at school everyone had to always write cursive.
