[–] Mass shooting plot for SoCal high school thwarted by alert security guard AlligatorDeathSaw 12 points ago in news

The key word there is 'some'.

I could say 'some sick people vomit' and you'd be all up in arms 'i didn't vomit when I was sick'

[–] Chemical in McDonald's fries may hold the key to curing baldness, study says AlligatorDeathSaw 4 points ago in nottheonion

It might have a scary and fancy name, but this material has a long and safe history of human interaction. This is the stuff you would find in lube or breast implants

If you're a student, you can likely apply for to use time on a supercomputer. When I was a student I would do my calculations through westgrid from compute canada

You should see what happens with 100 segments as if it were a bullwhip. Does chaotic motion deteriorate as more segments are added or does it get crazier. Also the chaotic motion might get confined to the very ends of the chain. You should do it and let me know.

It's Louise Falls. It's not like it's some secret spot anyways. There's endless options nearby if you're looking for something more private

[–] How not to drive in the snow. AlligatorDeathSaw 40 points ago in WTF

That doesn't account for why the person in this video put the car in reverse and sniped a car 300 meters behind them after the initial accident

Aaaaand you're the worst person. I knew I shouldn't have filtered by controversial. Take my downvote

[–] Thoughts on Scarpa's and La Sportiva's cheaper mountaineering boots? AlligatorDeathSaw 6 points ago in Mountaineering

The most important thing is fit.

So what I would do is see if you can rent some nepal evos or mont blancs and take them on a big day hike to see if they work with your foot. Getting the right size is important. Narrow is down to the brand and size

Then I would spend the next few months rigorously searching kijiji, FB buy and sell groups, etc. until you find somebody selling their boot (probably because they bought a poorly fitting boot).

In the end, you'll likely save $$ and you'll end up with a boot you can use in winter. The summer mountaineering boots are nice but if you're on a student budget, this makes the most sense to me

Glacier water is perfect for a quick dip after some exercise on a hot day

[–] Skier outrunning an avalanche does a backflip AlligatorDeathSaw 0 points ago in videos

'Statistically, you're more likely to die in a car accident on the way to the back country than you are from an avalanche.'

You said it but you still haven't backed it up. To know this you would have to survey how far people drive on average to go backcountry skiing. You don't have access to that data.

'My source was for the deaths attributed to avalanches'---Contradicts the statement you said.

You're so full of shit that it seems to be coming out the front end

[–] Skier outrunning an avalanche does a backflip AlligatorDeathSaw 0 points ago in videos

Warning to anybody still reading this: "Source" doesn't support claim

Nowhere in that article does it claim that driving to go into the backcountry is more dangerous than time spent skiing there.

Here you are again with your intentional deceptive behavior. It's clear that you're yelling into the echo chamber at this point. Nobody is seeing your comments except for me.

Take this opportunity to say to yourself 'Shit I was wrong here. Next time I'll do this' There's no point to try to save face because nobody is listening!

[–] Skier outrunning an avalanche does a backflip AlligatorDeathSaw 0 points ago in videos

It's not patently false. I guess you could say 'all the time' is subjective because its not like somebody dies every second, but I'm so sick of your fucking semantic-arguing bullshit that I'm not going to engage.

On the other hand, you have absolutely no grounds to make that last claim. You literally pulled it out of your fucking ass, you clown. There are no figures that support that claim. So I'm going to call you on it. Where's your source?

[–] Skier outrunning an avalanche does a backflip AlligatorDeathSaw 0 points ago * (lasted edited a month ago) in videos

Just STFU, you have to have the last word, don't you?

An avalanche that size kills people all the time here in interior British Columbia. Its in the news all the time. You already admitted you were wrong. Just give it up

[–] Skier outrunning an avalanche does a backflip AlligatorDeathSaw 0 points ago in videos

You shouldn't argue when you know you're full of shit because people might actually believe that there is truth to what you're saying. The truth is that an avalanche that size could kill somebody
