[–] Any of y'all ever get called bandwagon fans even though we haven't been good in 10 years? Andrew_Korenchkin 1 points ago in lakers

This is why I love watching Lakers Basketball. It's fun and it gives me excitement and joy. Nothing else. We don't even have to win or be in the title every year. Just give me exciting, competitive basketball that makes me love the game.

Yep, it's why I consider New Orleans among the most historical cities in the US.

I know that Philly and Baltimore carry very similar accents.

Did the Metro Areas you are citing exist during its economic zenith? Baltimore seemed to reach its economic zenith sometime before WW2. The advent of Suburban Sprawl did not start to occur until after WW2.

Did I mention how much I hate the Kings? Can't stand that team, and especially their fucking fans.

[–] Planners: what do your peers actually believe? Andrew_Korenchkin 1 points ago * (lasted edited a day ago) in urbanplanning

I've noticed this as well. On the positive side, we get a lot of folks who are interested in the field, and add their experiences on how planning may impact their own lives. On the negative side, we get a lot of hot takes and, worst of all, people who are among the last who should be involved with the field (urbanists who see it as some kind of "virtuous" trait, some doomers).

Planning is not a monolith, so you will get different views and beliefs on anything.

[–] Wanting to get off dexamphetamine Andrew_Korenchkin 1 points ago in Drugs

Dex, although not to diminish how hard smoking is to stop. Good luck on quitting, friend.

Good luck man. I was addicted for a year, it's a fucking miracle I was able to stop. I don't know how I did it, no platitude.

[–] Are funerals really held outside? Andrew_Korenchkin 3 points ago in AskAnAmerican

I know New Orleans usually holds their funeral outside.
