[–] Diet Sodas Linked To Stroke, Heart-Attack Risk, Study Says BackBae 1 points ago in Health

This is true. The association with carcinogens i not strictly relevant to this particular discussion. We can’t take this study to mean “diet soda leads to strokes”, we take it to mean “diet soda is correlated with strokes, let’s learn more”.

Or people of science who despise the correlation=causation mindset.

Okay just focusing on the cartoon part: if I was on a bus traveling a ridiculously narrow cliffside road I’d also sit far away from the edge and be nervous the entire time. Maybe dude on the right is just terrified of heights.

As opposed to private sector jobs, where no one is in it for the money.

They apparently used to be! One of my friends had a random gas hookup in her kitchen and we assume that’s what it was for (her oven and stove are still gas)

Source: fun fact from my microbiology professor from college 😂

My thoughts exactly. Probably an oven or a fridge- my money’s on fridge.

[–] Exposure to weed killing products increases risk of cancer by 41%, finds a new study that provides evidence that ‘supports link’ between exposures to glyphosate herbicides and increased risk for non-Hodgkin lymphoma. BackBae 2 points ago * (lasted edited 2 days ago) in Health

Thank you for the example. Please give a source on it, as google was not able to find an article on this particular instance for me.

You still haven’t answered my question. The personal attacks also aren’t appreciated. Your entire argument is weakened when you attack the person you’re debating with instead of sticking to facts.

[–] What books would you recommend someone who has a broken heart and is actively trying to make themselves better? BackBae 2 points ago in suggestmeabook

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. It's a classic and although it's a coming of age story, there's some really poignant reflections on first love and broken hearts, revealed through mother-daughter discussions.

So... them being pollinated by ANY other plant would also pose the same risk.

Let’s take tomato plants. We have our Organic WholeFoods Tomato, our GMO Tomato, and our Control Tomato. Control Tomato cross-pollinates Organic WholeFoods Tomato, isn’t the lineage of the OWFT now “contaminated”? Isn’t that the same as if our OWFT was cross-pollinated by our GMO Tomato?

Ah, you should’ve been a bit more clear in your initial comment. Yes, they are able to cross-pollinate. As of now I’m unaware of what risks this introduces, save for the often discussed patent problems. There does not seem to be any peer-reviewed source discussing that this is a risk.
