[–] TIL that in 1946 John Boyd Orr, a Scottish scientist, proposed the creation of a World Food Board to repel world hunger and protect global peace. The proposal was rejected as UK and USA refused to support it. As he resigned from his role in the UN, he warned that “food is more than a commodity." BoneHugsHominy 3 points ago in BasicIncome

My Grandfather was a lifelong Republican, a true conservative. But he also not only supported the food stamp and welfare programs, he felt they didn't go far enough. He said that once a man sees, with his own eyes, the suffering of people from hunger and disease, he understands it's our duty as human beings to ensure everyone has food, shelter, and doctors. He had decided that during his time in WWII Europe.

What many don't know because it's hidden quite well, is that during the time the Nazis were taking power in Germany, and throughout the war, a very large percentage of Americans thought exactly as the Nazis did regarding other races, other religions, and towards the disabled, mentally ill, and incarcerated. It's just that most of those Americans drew the line at extermination. They felt all of those "lesser" peoples were fair game for experimentation, and so they experimented.

The hoaxes are attention whores. There doesn't need to be hoaxes to show the racism. Have you already forgotten the giant "Jews Will Not Replace Us" march or the multiple mass shootings by White Supremacists or the asshole driving his Dodge Challenger into a crowd of people?

Most of America doesn't have bakeries, delis, of sandwich shops unless Subway counts. We have cardboard crust pizza joints, frozen pizzas, and fast food. City life is much, much different than rural life. Ain't nobody driving 100+ miles round-trip to buy some bread.

Socialist, no, COMMUNIST children! We need a big tough leader to carry the world through this difficult time. Someone who can Make America Great Again, comrade.

It is amazing, but go ahead and set a reminder to make an appointment to get your cholesterol checked in a few months because once you go down this road, there is nowhere to turn back.

Is he supposed to be intimidating? My arms are bigger and just as "ripped" and I haven't lifted weights since junior high, in the 80's.

[–] Buy into this MLM or my cat will starve! BoneHugsHominy 20 points ago in antiMLM

My cat loves her some Fancy Feast wet food. She hates dry food and won't eat it...unless I trick her.

So I bought a 30oz jug of Temptations cat treats and give her a 1 tablespoon serving twice a day. She LOVES those treats. I ran out one time so I filled the empty jug with Meow Mix Tender Centers dry food that she absolutely refused to eat. She now thinks that dry cat food is her treats as long as it's served from the treats jug. So now 1 can of wet Fancy Feast in the morning, topped off with 2 tablespoons of dry "treats" twice a day and she thinks she's living like a queen.

This is the most productive, wealthiest time in human history, and we have wage slavery.

Corporate Feudalism for the win, I guess.
