[–] Adore's instagram story is something. CupcakeofDeath 19 points ago in rupaulsdragrace

I can't believe Adore's Instagram was live while Adore was dying

[–] Blocked him for repeatedly spamming me with unsolicited ass pictures... Got this in return. CupcakeofDeath 1 points ago in lolgrindr

Yeah, I know most of my coworkers and I (Starbucks, so lots of gays) block each other just so it's not awkward. I don't need to see their profile, and I don't need them seeing mine. They don't need to know if I'm a bottom or top or see whatever kind of thirst trap picture I have for my profile.

[–] I’m really bout to be killed for not saying thank you 🤪 CupcakeofDeath 2 points ago in lolgrindr

bc if you throw a random compliment out there to a stranger, they're not actually obligated to respond, especially if it's one of those "hey you look like you'd be good at sucking my cock" compliments or whatever

[–] Is anyone else loving the new wave of environmental ultimates? CupcakeofDeath 31 points ago in Overwatch

In the museum brawl trailer, when he ults there's a massive black cloud with red electricity. If they had that effect happening up to waist height right up to the perimeter, or with smoke going out getting less dense as he deals less damage, it would be much easier to figure out. His ult is definitely the one where it's hardest to tell when I'm gonna hit someone with it, or whether it's gonna hit me. Nothing else (anymore, now that Mei's is fixed) feels as vaguely defined.

That's fair. I guess I don't follow fashion enough so I forget about it but I know she's made some pretty big steps in that.

[–] Kameron's now an unfortunate casualty in this mess CupcakeofDeath 23 points ago in rupaulsdragrace

Honestly she just needs to basically do what Katya did and disappear for six months. Get some help, go outside, throw your phone in a lake and suspend all your accounts, whatever it takes to find yourself and be sane.

People said during the season that Eureka and Kameron only got along because Kameron never talked and Eureka never stopped talking, but Kameron's talking now, and that's killed it.

You know what, if this is the payoff we get for dealing with Eureka again, I'm at peace with it

Honestly out of all of these I'm most excited for The Bi Life. It has so much potential to be exploitative and horrible but I'm confident that Courtney will keep it on that balance of being socially conscious and respectful while entertaining and trashy like any good British reality show.

That's just gatekeeping bullshit. Hockey's mainstream, even if not everyone knows that Wayne Gretzky holds the career-wide record for NHL points even if you don't count any of his goals, or that Sidney Crosby was the youngest player to record a hundred points in one season. Basketball's still mainstream even if you don't know about Naismith, or if you don't know Kobe's full history. Like, you don't need to in-and-out know the details of something for it to be mainstream - it just has to be something popular that people are aware of, which drag absolutely is. Ru winning a double emmy for reality competition show and reality competition show host, first time it's happened in one year, is evidence of that; Alyssa's show, Courtney's shows (plural, bc she also has a show on Channel 4 in the UK), Trixie and Katya's show, are all evidence of that; the SNL skit about manly men who are secretly drag race fans talking about season 9 is evidence of that; the fact that tons of drag slang has entered the popular vernacular is evidence of that, and the list goes on.

Drag is mainstream. It should never be conformist, and I don't think it is, but to pretend that drag and drag race has not entered the mainstream is just patently false. You don't need to know the intricacies of hip hop culture to recognize that hip hop is, in fact, mainstream. Same for most of the big genres of music - people don't know where it comes from, who the major figures were beyond maybe the last couple decades, but they're objectively mainstream.

If your rule for "mainstream" is everyone being able to write a dissertation on the subject, then very, very few things are mainstream. It just means that the general public is aware of it, and that it's fairly popular. That's it.

She agreed to be Bob's VP bc Bob financed their run, and Bob agreed to support her when she ran for president in 2028

You could even go a step further and ask which winners actually reached this level. Bianca's the closest, with the Hurricane Bianca movies, but we all know that those aren't exactly massive movies. They pretty much exclusively have an audience of Drag Race fans, and even among us, a lot of people don't love them. Trixie and Katya were massive on YouTube and now on TV, Courtney won CBB, got a Channel 4 show, and now is hosting her own reality show, and Alyssa's got a Netflix series about her - which winner has any of that?

Maybe that's it, they definitely look a little more real. They're good either way.

[–] 6 months ago AS3 finale happened. What is you’re feeling about it right now that producers need to take into account moving forward? CupcakeofDeath 3 points ago in rupaulsdragrace

Reportedly she did fuck up pretty badly. She was slipping around, off beat, and I think she fell one time? Idk, a lot of people who were there live said that the double save saved her more than Eureka.

You know, before AS3 I would've thought this was a reach to say that they had a full elimination order planned, but considering what happened with Aja and Thorgy in particular it's hard to say that they weren't fully expected to go home that episode.

Idk if we need 4 episodes, but I wish we had a situation like in S9 where the first episode is just a showcase of all the queens. Especially if it's gonna be a lipsync for your legacy AS season, just have the talent show, do a lipsync, and don't eliminate anyone.

Survivor has this and it makes it no fun. "One tribe, you get to give up all your food to make the other tribe suffer, but then, five minutes later, tribe swap, then, in two episodes, we divide two tribes into three, then merge them back into two, then merge the tribes, then have a double elimination, then one male and one female immunity winner, and then we're doing a final 3 instead of final 2, and also you have to eat a whole live rat to win"
