[–] Ed Whelan Started Researching Brett Kavanaugh Accuser Christine Blasey Ford Before Her Name Had Been Published Eraticwanderer 1 points ago in politics

It ain't you, friend. There are a lot of things the GOP has thrown out that don't add up (beyond their firm stance on not allowing an actual investigation)

[–] So … Who Tattled on Rod Rosenstein to the New York Times? Eraticwanderer 1 points ago in politics

I really don't other than the "who would you LEAST suspect" angle and trying to see if there might be some benefit. I consider myself fairly savvy when it comes reading a political chessboard and understanding motivations, but this one is a bit puzzling.

The speculation that the WH would leak this to the NYT just after saying it should be ignored leads me away from Trump himself directing it. Also, the WH and the GOP is desperate to move past the 25th Amendment topic because that news cycle seemed to impact his favorability.

The only conclusion I can come up with is someone outside both the DoJ and the WH. Bannon, maybe?

Whatever the case, it's going to be one hell of an infrastructure week coming up.

Ok, just throwing this out there but:

Would there be any circumstance that Rosenstein was the one who wanted this leaked?

I did legal compliance and was a LEA liaison for two major internet content providers. In one instance, a user had set up a CP server on their home connection and the FBI tracked it down from a tip. Scumbag was in cuffs, feds took control over the domain and traffic and would reroute it to another site that on the surface looked identical, but all actual images were removed but plucked off a dozen or so more people trying to solicit URLs or images since the "site was broken".

Did you look at the history of the people who claimed they posted it before and it was removed? Because it'll be in their history:

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but:

A user began to track a specific set of suspicious URLs that were pushing Russian agitprop all over the far right subreddits. Maddow even brought up the site a few weeks back because their USANews (or whatever the site is called) was ridic obvious it wasn't legit. (*She did NOT mention Reddit in that story FWIW)

When that came to light, it seems like Reddit blackisted the domain, but all the posters did was start using a URL shortener.

Reddit has been well aware of this for over a year that we know PUBLICLY.

They are complicit. Don't let them cover this bullshit up. Hold them accountable.

Also, Reddit tip for those not aware:

If you take any Reddit URL and replace the R with a C, you will be able to see comments / articles that have been removed. It's an autoarchiver.

This isn't going to go away, mods. You might as well let one stay, otherwise I suspect based on the discussions among many other users they will flood your queue until you leave it.

I don't encourage that in ANY way. I'm just saying what I would do as a mod.
