[–] 6 months, what happened?!?! And what to do? Fdeeps428 1 points ago in puppy101

Yea he was neutered by the rescue at around 4 months

[–] How many hours of sleep??? Fdeeps428 2 points ago in puppy101

I am no expert but our puppy is approaching 6 months now and his worse behaviors and "zoomies" occur when he has had the most exercise. like you he normally gets around 1.5 hrs of walks or play combo a day but days where he is up and stimulated constantly and doesn't get time to rest, he turns into a terror in the evening.

We started enforcing crate nap time and he settles so quickly in there when he is in that mood and falls right asleep. he has started to learn to self settle a bit now but there are still times where he gets to be a terror when he is overtired.

[–] Is it a bad sign if my puppy licks his paws? Fdeeps428 1 points ago in puppy101

Are you in an area where it is currently winter with salted or previously salted sidewalks? Our pup licked his paws when they were salty. We drew a warm bath just like an inch of water and let him stand there and it dissolved salt and he stopped licking

They have been receiving increasing levels of care for about 5 years now. Currently we are about 4800 dollars a week between care, and living expenses. The go fund me was created to extend the runway. They both lived past any savings they could’ve estimated and will be running out of money shortly.

We have a rotation of caregivers some who have been with them for 4 + years and have become as close as family.

Nursing home care would be covered for both of them but they would be forced to be apart from one another due to their drastic care differences.

This article may explain a bit more

[–] Gave my wife this stuffed puppy as a joke on our first Christmas together, 7 years later we stumbled upon a rescue that happened to look a bit familiar Fdeeps428 122 points ago in aww

He was supposed to be someone else’s Christmas puppy and was surrendered. He seems satisfied with the amount of exercise thus far and is usually hanging at our feet or he will put himself to bed in his crate.

[–] How do people do this? This dog is breaking me down more than any work/life/financial stress ive ever had. Fdeeps428 2 points ago in puppy101

I'm a 26 years old, my wife and I just got a puppy and we just finished our second week with him. The first week and beginning of this week I would hit a point in the afternoon where I was exhausted and worried and felt like everything I did was wrong. I was in tears multiple times in the beginning, I felt like I made the biggest mistake ever. When we leave for the day he cries and I feel like a horrible person. But it is getting better. We are starting to make him fit into our schedule, my wife is getting to run again, were making real dinners and sitting down to eat them. Instead of being annoyed by being outside in the -20 degree wind chill, I spun it in my head to think of all the steps i am getting from walking when my coworkers aren't for our work health program. My life is nowhere close to what it was 15 days ago, but its about accepting the change, working as a team with your fiancee and spinning the difficulties into positives.

We just rescued him on Thursday night. He is a little mouthy with a couple things that aren’t his but not terrible. We use a squirt bottle and one squirt in the face has done a great job of slowing him

Went to the game in 2016 with 3 buddies from OSU. Before game tailgating was awesome with the students and alumni alike. Most people at PSU at the time talked about how much they sucked, not sure how they will be now that they are smelling themselves a bit. Played drinking games and were warmly welcomed into most tailgates.

During the game everything was awesome, we had good seats so away from students, even when the game turned, most people left us alone walking out. A few drunks on walk home gave us crap, but were reprimanded by their more sober friends.

10/10, 100% would recommend going and would be going again if I didn't have a wedding. Shes a PSU grad and him an OSU grad... go figure..

[–] Penn State–Appalachian State Was a Crash Course in What Makes College Football Great Fdeeps428 2 points ago in CFB

I don’t think either of those teams are better or worse. I think they would play a very close game on a neutral field. I think they were both well prepared. The only difference I saw that made MSUs margin of victory a little less worrisome was it was the hurry up that gave them fits when app state was lining up and playing football, not as gimmicky.

App State was very impressive, as was Utah State especially when they ran tempo. Too me the difference in the 2 wins was Penn State looked to have zero answer to 4 fourth quarter TD's the last of which was atrocious tackling.

FPI: App State: 74 Utah State: 63 Don't allow these facts to get in the way that Utah State is a much worse team.

According to BTN it was “wow, what great pass defense”
