[–] Florida House aide fired after claiming Florida shooting survivors are 'actors' FryTheDog 2 points ago in news

I was talking about the electoral college. The house is pretty fair and allows for red and blue districts while the EC in practice makes for red and blue states which does not represent the ballots cast, other people brought up the house

That one house vote in California represents more than 25% more people that the Wyoming. That’s massive

The left was offering job training in new jobs. The right sold lies that the market would never let happen. Coal is expensive, solar is getting cheaper. Trump said he’d save coal. He had no plan, no backing. He lied, and coal is still losing jobs. And now we have a congress and executive that don’t believe in job training

That’s democracy though. The majority gets to decide. We preach democracy across the globe but don’t actually have it here. Here the minority has gerrymandered the system to maintain power, and special interests pay for votes. It’s wildly broken

That’s where the people are. The people are the ones that matter. 1 person 1 vote. It’s the only fair way

Yes thus making the electoral college representation in California 1 EC vote per 709,000 people. In Wyoming each EC vote represents 195,000 people. That is unfairly skewed towards rural less populated areas

And they get 1 house seat too, and skew the electoral college, making a presidential vote from Wyoming worth more than a vote from California. It’s a broken system that no one wants to change

[–] New bill would allow Georgia adoption agencies deny service to gay couples FryTheDog 11 points ago in Atlanta

So you’d rather a bill that discriminated against your neighbors than a multi billion dollar company come to Atlanta and spark growth and increase the tax base? Amazon would more than likely be a net good thing even with the tax cuts and incentives we’ll throw at them. Just like the movie industry has been a positive. All that bill will do is piss people off. Me included

[–] Senator Perdue: Net Neutrality laws were "monopoly-style regulations." FryTheDog 5 points ago in Atlanta

That might have been true in the past, but those days are changing. The younger part of the party is much further to the left than the old guard

The governor could flip this year. Nathan Deal did a good job of staying out of contentious national issues, like religious liberty. While one of the current front runners in the GOP, Cagle, is going after Decatur over perceived “sanctuary city” issues. That will not play well with moderates or independents.

[–] 5 reasons the Bills could stick with Tyrod Taylor as their QB in 2018: (He's signed, address other needs, chemistry, no more Dennison, & a good bridge plan) FryTheDog 2 points ago in buffalobills

His stock can’t be too high after that playoff game. I can’t see any team, Bills included, that wouldn’t want at minimum a true QB competition in the pre season before making him a starter. He’s shown an inability to win games consistently. He might not lose you games, but with a game on the line I do not want him leading the charge. What team would?

The name and numbers were really hard to see on TV. I could see American Family Insurance easily enough, but the back all blended into the white for me
