[–] What are the most bizzare passages in the Bible? FuzzyKittenIsFuzzy 5 points ago in AcademicBiblical

Is that actually weird though? To me it seems more intense than weird.

Are you saying the anecdotes you've heard include bishops advising victims against going to police? Because I'm not disagreeing with that.

I'm saying the lawyers tell bishops what the bishops are legally required to do. This is the stated purpose of the hotline, it's rather sleazy, and it doesn't promote a culture of valuing children. But I've never seen a reason to believe the hotline does otherwise.

Advising bishops to break the law is legal malpractice and if you or anyone else is aware (even secondhand) of a case of this hotline doing so, I'm sure there state bar would love to know.

If the abuse occurred at church and the family is interested in suing, that's when a settlement is offered. Or if the bishop covered it up, etc. Certainly not in cases of one member going after another member and not the church.

How many trees get cut and natural areas decimated by grazing cows in that scenario? Free range grazing is absolutely awful for the ecosystem here in the Western US.

Using a thin tube/straw, the ejaculate is directed just barely into (or sometimes directly onto but not technically into) the cervical os. This minimizes contact with the remainder of the vagina and gets them swimming into the uterus ASAP, since the vagina isn't the safest environment for sperm cells. Sometimes it's followed by placing a cap over the cervix to keep things in place.

A turkey baster, syringe, etc. pointed generally toward the cervix doesn't provide the tight control over the specific landing location. That's IVI as opposed to ICI.

I will say though, these terms are often used incorrectly so it's usually not safe to assume anything about what someone means.

ICI is somewhat different than turkey baster. Intra means "into" and that's both difficult and inadvisable to do at home!

Edit: here is a link with a brief explanation. Here is another one.

That sucks. What's sad about the essential oil cases are the ones where people have early stage cancer and they let it progress while "treating" it with oils. Then they have to undergo standard treatment for late stage cancer. Worst of both worlds.

The hotline determines the legal requirements for the local area and communicates them to the bishop. Any actions beyond that are up to the bishop to decide. If that area at that time didn't require reporting, the hotline wouldn't instruct a bishop that he must report. There are probably also cases of bishops disregarding the hotline info and failing to report. But the hotline exists to advise people of the legal requirements in their area.

[–] My husband will not talk about anything important FuzzyKittenIsFuzzy -4 points ago in Christianmarriage

If he won't talk to you, will he talk to anyone else?

I would stop financially supporting him. Literally I would move in with my parents and not invite him, but still hang out with him (i.e. date night) and let him figure out how to get a place to live.

My husband doesn't post here. He's busy this afternoon making money and woodworking. I'm now wrapping up this marathon breastfeeding session with the baby so I won't be around anymore either.

Your problem with reading comprehension is a problem with reading comprehension, not a problem with background knowledge. You're hilariously obtuse and your excuse-making seems to know no bounds.

You're asking a woman to write you a personalized SMV development plan?

I suggest you ask your mommy.

Also, your reading comprehension in this thread is quite possibly the worst I have ever seen on Reddit. I read some exchanges between you and other commenters to my husband, and he laughed loudly at your consistent ability to misunderstand anything you don't want to hear.

What OP means by that word isn't the usual definition of that word...

You're telling me that nearly zero men within 150 miles of you are willing to sleep with a willing 17 year old girl (assuming that's legal in your area), a girl who works out and who is at least reasonably attractive? That she would get only a tiny fraction of the offers a fat 35 year old woman would get? Your assessment of her SMV is full-on delusional. I'm starting to question if you've read any of the sidebar at all.

About her sticking around: Others have already explained this to you and your reading should also have made it clear. But I'll dumb it down for you.

Your open-market SMV in four years will be average at best. You could hit 6 if you work hard and all the stars align. A more realistic estimate is 4.

Her open-market SMV in four years will be fantastic.

After a year or so of marriage it will occur to her that she has the option to enter the open market.

Even if she doesn't want to enter the open market, she will suddenly notice that her open-market SMV is higher than yours.

There are several directions she could go from there, but none of them include her respecting you.

If you can get her to stay for another 15 years after that point, you can out-SMV her and things might improve. Might. And if you can get her to stay. Odds are low that this would work.
