[–] 'Captain Marvel' Enlists Pinar Toprak as Composer, Becoming the First Woman to Score a Marvel Studios Film G-San83 6 points ago * (lasted edited 3 months ago) in movies

Not as rare as you think and have composed great film music:

    Anne Dudley

    Rachel Portman

Shirley Walker who died in 2006 and wrote what many consider to be the best Batman theme of all, along with the music to the animated series

Do you have a source for that Zanelli claim because all album notes and details for the score that I've found don't back that up.

As for the Pirates scores, the reverse of has been claimed here happened with the first film. Zimmer wrote themes and Klaus Badelt received credit for the work.

Post Malone's Psycho has this. A faint, distant siren that has thrown me off so may times whenever I've heard it in the car

[–] The Thunderbirds (2004) trailer has music in it that is almost identical to the Pirates of the Caribbean main soundtrack. Both movie's scores were conducted by Hans Zimmer. G-San83 1 points ago in movies

That wasn’t John Murphy reusing themes, that was Matthew Vaughn using tracks from Sunshine and 28 Days Later either uncredited or with a different name.

Michael Mann did the same thing with Moxica & The Horse from Vangelis’ 1492 score used in Collateral, as well as a couple of Elliot Goldenthal tracks from the Heat score in Collateral and Miami Vice.

[–] What movies had the worst marketing? G-San83 25 points ago in movies

That's exactly what they intended with their marketing because the results of testing showed that people would watch it if they knew he would eventually get off the island.

See Zemeckis talking about it in this article

[–] First paid job, client unhappy. What would you do? G-San83 7 points ago in photography

Your composition is a little flat in some shots but not a disaster, especially given that you didn't have prep time for the shoot. You haven't done a bad job, she just may not have clearly stated her expectations.

What stands out the most to me is that you've taken the shots in the daytime, in a dark restaurant that needs artificial light. This results in shots with two colour temps that may be jarring for the owner. The original shots are in the evening and only use the warm restaurant lighting that gives it a cosy, inviting feeling. The colder daylight temp takes away from that and may be why she says it doesn't "feel like her restaurant".

Talk to her and see if perhaps this is what she hasn't been able to articulate. You may just have to go back and reshoot, take a hit on the fee but gain knowledge and experience that will help you with future work

[–] 'Blade Runner 2049' to feature music by Hans Zimmer G-San83 2 points ago in movies

It wasn't Hans Zimmer who helped arrange the score for Tron: Legacy but Joseph Trapanese.

He later did the same with M83 for Oblivion

Godzilla ending? I thought The Lost World was supposed to be a thinly veiled homage to King Kong

[–] The major issue I have with Logan (Spoilers) G-San83 6 points ago * (lasted edited a year ago) in movies

Wasn't X-24's healing factor lower as a means to control him and avoid another escape like X-23? He's dependent on Dr Rice to recover from any damage so no matter how savage he gets, he always returns. this would explain how the bullet made so much irreversible damage to him.

As for Logan, the adamantium poisoning deteriorating his healing ability makes the bullet the quick and sure method that he wanted to end it all

The Mach Loop in Wales. A popular spot for photographers for obvious reasons.

Here's some footage of the flybys in action

Fritz Lang's M doesn't have a score and the use of sound, such as voiceover, was considered groundbreaking for the time it was released. The closest to a score in the film is the song In the Hall of the Mountain King, whistled by a character and used as their theme.

I've seen them only once a few years ago and it was amazing. So glad they reformed and I'm looking forward to seeing them again

I always used to note it as just plagiarism with James Horner but more and more it seems as though may have been a victim of the temp track as well. Listen to the first 3 minutes of this track from Gladiator and then listen to the opening and from 2:28 on this track from Avatar and note the similarities.

How much sense does that make when Murdoch backed Tony and the Liberals so vigorously in the last election?
