[–] I like to think we’re the home of “Ope” G19Gen3 2 points ago in Michigan

I just made a comment above that I’ve heard it all over the country. I’ve got a coworker born and raised in San Francisco, lived there until he was in his 50s. Says it all the time. This sub is SO CONVINCED that it’s a Michigan thing for some reason.

I grew up closer to the thumb. I’ve lived there, mount pleasant, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Utah, Idaho, and visiting California, Florida, and South Carolina a ton.

I’ve heard “ope” in literally all of those places. It’s not a Michigan thing. It’s pretty common everywhere because usually it’s when you awkwardly run in to someone and most people don’t get out a full, “oops” or “whoops” or whatever.

But this sub thinks it’s a Michigan term for some reason.

Wow. You have all the investigative prowess of Inspector Gadget.

The minuscule fun of the lottery ticket is better than the minuscule return.

That’s the “other things aside” that I was talking about.

    [–] Anon's mom buys a ticket G19Gen3 8 points ago in greentext

Exactly. I could buy a few more bottles of pop, or I could buy a lottery ticket and no pop. What’s the big fucking deal?

    [–] Anon's mom buys a ticket G19Gen3 5 points ago in greentext

The lottery is an investment. Anything that you put money in to with a chance of profit is an investment. It’s just an extremely poor, infinitely high risk one. But I’m risking a few bucks. So while the risk is insurmountably huge, the actual loss is nothing. I spend that by going back to the store because I forgot milk.

    Living the dream.

I have stocks, I’ve got retirement, I make good money. The cost of a candy bar every year / couple years is worth it even for the remote chance of being a multimillionaire. The “investment” would be less than a drop in the bucket, so it doesn’t matter.

Lol wow, now I see why you’re confused. I’ll clear it up.

I never said I worked for the Libertarian Party, I said I’m libertarian and talk to my reps (as-in, the people currently in office, no matter their party). Libertarian (not a proper noun) is a blanket term for several political ideologies, the Libertarian Party (proper noun) is a specific version of that. I’m not working for a “viable third party” because I’m working toward IRV to change the system entirely, which would allow any candidate (Libertarian Party / Green Party / etc. etc.) to have a chance. Especially in local elections.

The fact that you think political leanings have to be a specific party is pretty telling. You should do some reading or take some political quizzes to find out what you believe in if you’re so uninformed. You’re passionately angry at someone on the internet about politics without understanding anything beyond “omg republicans are bad” Some of us look decades in to the future, not just November and two years from now.

    Does that help?

No, I didn’t. I said I vote my conscience, I said I wasn’t affiliated to parties. You invented all the nonsense about me not doing anything. That’s all in your head.

But I know that you actually vote party lines all the time. That’s what’s really sad.

Yeah but when the lottery gets super high you might as well spend a few bucks on it. I do that once a year or so. Just in case.

So you know you’re wrong and I’ve actually been consistent in what I’ve said.

It’s good that you’ve accepted it.

I work on fixing it, you just want to believe I don’t. I push for IRV non-stop with my local reps. But since it would result in them being out of office they aren’t fans. I also educate people on what that is so they can push for it.

You apparently don’t do anything, given that you’re projecting so hard on me.

I want to like storm thralls, but they’re so big they always get stuck (for me) so I stopped using them. Dremofa lords are OP as shit though.

[–] New Emails Show Michigan Republicans Plotting to Gerrymander Maps - The New York Times G19Gen3 1 points ago in Michigan

You said you weren’t. I didn’t “run” from any threads, they probably got lost in the shuffle. I get a lot of stuff in my inbox.

You used intellectual as an insult. So I assume you aren’t one unless you have disdain for yourself. Although you wouldn’t be the first self hating liberal. Too bad you only ever amounted to a drummer with a dog that falls in love with awful candidates.

I usually run a flame thrall and call a lord as needed. That way I’ve got ranged and close up “fuck you” as well. I’ll add illusion maybe. Sounds fun.

Nobody else is in this conversation. Reddit doesn’t show comments at this level by default. That’s why the only voting is coming from you.

But like you said, you’re not an intellectual, so it doesn’t surprise me that you don’t know that. Probably should have aspired to be more than a drummer.

Does that work? I’ve never tried a build like that. Sounds like fun.

Is there anything you can’t calm though?
