    That’s a balance wheel.

    Absolute unit.

So does it slide out or spin or what?

A guy was in an airport and his flight was delayed. He went on ask Reddit (I think) and said there HAD to be other redditors in the same airport, and online, but how to find them? And someone said that should be the secret code. Since it was so randumb, people latched on to it.

I think that’s pretty much exactly how it would have gone. People say, “but Congress would have been republican and stopped it!” to which I say if people had shown up to vote for Clinton congress would have gone blue.

I’m curious to see how midterms shake out.

Yeah the Supreme Court is what I cared about in the general, and the sole reason I voted for trump. Which I don’t regret given what’s happened. Imagine if Clinton had these picks PLUS RBG.

I just don’t think you understand how hard it is for me.

Yeah but I believe the predictions that he had zero chance were a catalyst of people not bothering to vote for democrats. Trump had no chance. If you were in a swing state, why bother? If you were in a typically red state, why bother? But Trump voters were turbocharged to go vote, mostly because “fuck $hillary Clinton.”

If they put up a “cool” democrat like Obama that says they’ll pay off student loans with free money, and they go up against Trump in a debate being well spoken, charismatic, and super cool, I don’t see us winning. Because they’ll be so cool. Which is what a LOT of democrats vote for, and almost every college democrat falls in love with. People didn’t want to vote for their screechy mother in law that stole the primary from their friendly grandpa.

I believe we’ll swing as hard toward liberal democrat as Trump was to conservative (sorta) republican. I don’t want to. But I think we will.

Seriously. I try to explain, but they just don’t get it. I’ve been in both oceans (in the U.S.) and I’ve seen the Great Lakes on a rough day dwarf the coasts on a calm one. People just assume freshwater is never that rough.

Or we could be realistic and say that like 80% of voters are pure emotional voters. All they have to do is not be as lazy and vote against “that big meanie” and we lose. Have you ever talked to someone that voted for Hillary that wasn’t voting purely on feels? Because I haven’t.

I wonder if we’ll have eight or if it will flip back in 2020. I’m guessing a flip. I think a lot of democrats didn’t vote in 2016 because they just assumed Hillary would beat Trump. But they really hate him.

I believe an angry German with a dumb mustache took weapons from a populace right before attempting to exterminate them.

Couldn’t he just put his thing down, flip it, and reverse it? I’m not sure if it’s worth it to work it.

    [–] Kayaking in a boat's wake G19Gen3 6 points ago in boating

Nobody should do this without knowing the captains and planning it. This video was clearly planned out given the two boats matching speed and splitting around the kayaker.

I live in Utah now. One time a guy told us that Bear Lake was just as dangerous as the Great Lakes and had waves just as big.

Pretty sure he’s never actually seen what the Great Lakes can do.

More dedicated than people who are getting paid a bunch of money and get performance reviews? I doubt it.

But robots that were conscious likely would only do logical things. Humans are happy to do illogical things. That’s how we win.

For a lot of what I do I run a fedora vm and do work inside of it. I like full blown installs.

    Found the Linux die hard.

“Just install this library and roll this fix back and it works fine!”

VMs still don’t run anywhere near as well as native ESPECIALLY when it comes to graphics.

[–] Anon installs Linux G19Gen3 1 points ago in 4chan

That’s a lot of misinformation for such a short comment.

Mac has become its own flavor at this point. It deviates way too far from Unix / Linux to be considered part of the family. Linux desktops are great if you want something barebones and fast, but still want GUI editors to use. Servers only run cli by default so I’m not sure why you added that, and Macs aren’t better for development / graphics work / whatever. Windows or Mac both do the same jobs just as well at this point in time. Just depends on which one you like better. Both will run editing software fine.

I realize that but most big stuff that needs to work for day to day users isn’t paid work. Certainly not well paid.
