[–] Pro-pedophilic questions and discussions are not allowed in TooAfraidToAsk per our harm-of-others rules. Pedophiles, and their defenders, are not welcome in this community. Hospitalities 182 points ago in TooAfraidToAsk

I’m defining pro-pedophilia using the threads I’ve linked in my comment above this one. People advocating that it’s okay to have sex with children or stating that children can give consent.

People seeking help or simply discussing pedophilia is a fine line that always requires further looking into to assure the conversation is both appropriate and not “pro-pedophilia”. I support non-offending pedophiles who seek help for their issue and believe no crime, no criminal. That being said, I don’t want this sub to become too friendly to it and end up the next haven for people trying to push outright acceptance or integration via LGBT+ groups.

I hope that my links above clarify for you what I mean, but if they don’t please let me know.

Yeah and between that, pedophilic posts and “Corona ain’t real”, we’re pretty busy at the moment. It’s been a shitshow for a few months now.

I just want you to know that we are trying.

[–] Why is it that COVID-19 now kills more Americans than 9/11 every week, but America has not had even one half-mast flag? Hospitalities 6 points ago * (lasted edited 15 days ago) in TooAfraidToAsk

How does this downplay the severity of this?

It's not saying only 6% of people have died from COVID-19. It says that 6% had no underlying health conditions. That means 94% of deaths have comorbidities and approx 60-70% of Americans have an underlying health condition. 6-7 out of every 10 people in America are considered high risk if they catch COVID-19.

As I've clearly stated above and based on your private message, you've been banned for spreading misinformation.

I want to remind everyone that the spreading of COVID-19 misinformation is an ongoing bannable offense. If you're going to post something, please be sure to have a scientific citation to back it up.

Inability to interpret data through gross negligence or even maliciously to twist it to your argument, especially in the context of your argument being to downplay C19 or suggest that significantly less deaths have occurred than reported will constitute your removal from this sub.

[–] Why is the LGBQT community so vocal about using the correct pronouns & respecting someone's identity but continuously force CIS as a title onto straight people? Hospitalities 1 points ago in TooAfraidToAsk

As a point of clarity, OP has been temporary banned for his use of slurs when discussing homosexuality, seemingly finding the word “faggot” to be funny. I’m considering simply removing this post but the comment section seems alright and educational. Please report anything that violates our rules so we can direct our attention to it, thanks.

The removed comment would align with my beliefs.

I took an uncomfortable amount of pleasure in seeing that you've downvoted me 51 times since you were temporarily banned for breaking the rules. Obviously someone who takes their rage out by going into the comments of a moderator and downvoting everything they can should consider the level of emotion response you're taking on about a temporary Reddit ban.

[–] Why are people trying to justify a cop shooting a stumbling man 7 times point blank? Hospitalities 4 points ago in TooAfraidToAsk

Well it’s disabled now but the threshold is significantly lower. Anything that hits a couple of reports makes it to our inbox and if it’s a LOT of reports over a short period of time, automod removes it and inboxes us to take a look.

For sure, hopefully we'll be able to find a happy medium or bring in more mods to fill the gap. I'll get some ideas bouncing around our discord and I'm going to mention the automod reply so we can at least keep everyone in the loop. My concern is report abuse in the future.

Definitely a good suggestion, we're trying to come up with a solution so this doesn't happen in the future but it might be time to just get rid of the report feature, even though it's done phenomenal work outside of 2020. Feels like things have just been really divisive lately.

I'm exploring alternative ways a post can be evaluated robotically but for now, it's disabled.
