[–] What is the worst book that you read for school? II_Confused 1 points ago in AskReddit

The public education system wants to instill a love of reading into today's youngsters.

So they force their students to read ancient POC books like Catcher In The Rye, The Great Gatsby, and A Light in the Attic.

    Makes sense.

I actually enjoyed reading this one. Even as a fourth grader I could see that the movies left out way too much.

Anne frank isn’t written very well but I wouldn’t call it bad because it’s written by a child

Yes, but it's been edited and translated so often by so many people you'd at least think that someone would have made it, at least, readable by now.

I literally and openly read the cliff notes version of this POS in class in front of the teacher. He knew my reading comprehension was way above the rest of the class, so he didin't give a fuck.

[–] When was your first time being fucked in the ass? II_Confused 6 points ago in AskRedditAfterDark

    Literally: Never have I ever.

Figuratively: When my Ex-fiance left me while I was in the middle of a deep depression.

[–] How it started for me (7th edition starter)! What was your starter-Edition? II_Confused 2 points ago in magicTCG

My first pack cracked was from The Dark. Still have that [[Book of Rass]] and [[Maze of Ith]]. My actual first starter was from Revised.

    [–] 10:00am EST and no mini-event II_Confused 6 points ago in tappedout

Well the problem with that is that the major events are really just multiple mini events strung together. Now mini events are just going to feel like a literal fraction of a major event.

Honestly I was kind of expecting Gil to pop up again.

Chalmers breaking character. Gets me every time.

Sideshow Bob meeting his raker. It helps that I placed my rakes in amongst piles of radioactive waste.

Parry: X times per day they can call "parry" and take no damage or effects from a physical blow.

[–] People who make fictional movies, how do you like being in prison? II_Confused 1 points ago in AskReddit

Your account is less than one day old. At this point I'm going to assume that you are a troll. I am blocking you, have a nice day.

[–] People who make fictional movies, how do you like being in prison? II_Confused 1 points ago in AskReddit

You're using the wrong words here. You can make "fictional movies" with "fictional people" all you want to. What you're talking about is using copyrighted characters and settings without their owner's permission.

If I wanted to make a movie called "Thog and the Space Whale" I'd be fine since it's an original story and setting.

If I wanted to make a move called "Harry Potter and the Death Star" I'd get sued into oblivion by two movie studios, since I'm using characters not I'm not permitted to.

As for all the fan fiction movies that you've been seeing on the internet, they are (mostly) legally fine so long as they do not seek to make a profit. The lawyers only really get involved when the movie makers start to earn some real money, or they are depicting the characters in a bad light (for example a film called "Superman Molests A Child And Joins The KKK"). Even then it's just a civil issue, which means nobody goes to jail, they just get sued so hard that their grandchildren will still be paying off the debt.

Barbarians. Nothing since Cold Snap. Everything barbarian-ish since then has been a berserker.

[–] The time I got Fired from Target II_Confused 1 points ago in IDontWorkHereLady

There's a two-story Target in my area that used to be a Ward's, and is connected to a mall. Thing is though, it has roughly the same square footage as a regular one story target.

[–] What's something expensive that not everyone has, but you think everyone that can afford it should have? II_Confused 1 points ago in AskReddit

I lucked out since I know a guy in the furniture industry. I got a brand new queen size bedframe and a high end floor model mattress for $800 total. I've been using them both for about 8 years now, and no wear and tear like I've seen with cheaper mattresses.

Funny thing tho, I'd be able to easily open the door if I wasn't fighting against the drag the motor causes.

[–] What’s the most scumbag deck you’ve played? II_Confused 3 points ago in magicTCG

I have a WB commander deck that's mostly Wrath variants, indestructible creatures, and lands/artifacts/enchantments that turn into creatures. The few times I play commander there's Wraths coming out every few turns. Can't keep creatures on the table. If I can't beat them my way, I'll beat them by playing their own strategies better than them.

I was helping a friend carry a large box through a convention hall. It wasn't heavy, just bulky and awkward. She felt guilty and, without warning, took out a couple books from one side. Now the box was bulky, awkward, and off balance. I had to tell her to put the books back in.

One time I was asked that by the guy who stole a M-F schedule from me. I almost bit his head off.

I've bought my kid to always let the multi-ton death machine go first. Seriously. If you accidentally walk into a car, the car will be fine. If the car accidentally rolls into you, someone's going to the hospital.

I refer to my tendonitis as "weak ass wrist syndrome." BTW: I'm one of those button pushers
