[–] 2020 Democratic primary: what Pete Buttigieg learned from Barack Obama Kerfluffle-Bunny 1 points ago in Pete_Buttigieg

Ezra’s April 7 pod with Wil Wilkinson at the Niskanen Center delves into voting personality and the difference between parties (and rural vs urban).

Also a really interesting perspective on someone who moved from a rigid conservative ideology to something more moderate and open. One of my fav discussions he’s had.

    [–] Watching Bernie's Townhall...I'm reminded why I like Pete. Kerfluffle-Bunny 4 points ago in Pete_Buttigieg

You. Are. In. The. Buttigieg. Sub.

And they’re “piling on” because you’re out here stanning Sanders, refusing to listen or acknowledge differing views, and basically being combative.

[–] MSNBC Rachel Maddow, 4/15: Full interview w/ Mayor Pete Buttigieg Kerfluffle-Bunny 2 points ago in Pete_Buttigieg

Yep. They’re just waiting since the field is so large.

They think it’s going to be easy to tear him down, since they’re virulently homophobic and they assume everyone else is.

Well, they’re also racist. And how’d THAT work out for them?

[–] Pete Buttigieg Debuts a Radical New Approach to Campaign Branding Kerfluffle-Bunny 25 points ago in Pete_Buttigieg

In an unprecedented move, the campaign has created an online design toolkit that will allow supporters to customize campaign logos and images using the campaign’s nine official colors, then download them in whatever size they like to use them on social media, yard signs, or however else they choose. “People will be able to use this however they want, other than selling it,” Deroy Peraza, principal and creative director of Hyperakt, told Fast Company exclusively. It saves them time, it gives them more assets to work with, and it gives them a clear sense of what the full color palette is. It just make it easier for people to rally around Pete.”

This is amazing. I’ve already spent quite a bit of time playing in the toolkit.

Gives us a glimpse of his innovation and a clear understanding of his focus on supporters. We’re his best messengers and he’s empowered us right out of the gate!

[–] IG Report: Some Members of Congress Sexually Harassed Night-Shift Custodians Kerfluffle-Bunny 2 points ago in politics

This is unfortunate: Architect of the Capitol = AOC

This report is blistering. Congressional Reps and Senators need to be named and shamed.

    [–] 44 & 46 Kerfluffle-Bunny 58 points ago in Pete_Buttigieg

I get that way any time I see Obama, tbh. 😢

Pete gives me the same good feeling. I had when Obama was competing in the 08 primary.

[–] Those of you who are close with conservative Christians - what has the reaction been to Pete's recent critiques of evangelicals and Pence? Kerfluffle-Bunny 1 points ago in Pete_Buttigieg

Exploring the #exvangelical tag on Twitter is probably going to give a good idea of what to expect from the Fundies. The evangelical culture, its impact and its aspirations are why our country has been run into the ground by the GOP.

[–] The Ellen Bump is going to be enormous Kerfluffle-Bunny 8 points ago in Pete_Buttigieg

Lis Smith is AMAZING. Pete hit it out of the park when he hired her.

[–] Another CNN town hall for Mayor Buttigieg, focused on younger voters, moderated by Anderson Cooper Kerfluffle-Bunny 6 points ago in Pete_Buttigieg

Pete’s suits have looked better lately, as the attention increases (and his book royalties, I’m sure). I wish he’d wear a better quality shirt though.

[–] Why the Religious Right Is Terrified of Pete Buttigieg Kerfluffle-Bunny 63 points ago in Pete_Buttigieg

We’re coming for the Evangelicals. And they’re terrified.

    Good. They’ve destroyed this country.

[–] Right-Wingers Spread Lie That Pete Buttigieg Isn’t a Real Christian Kerfluffle-Bunny 3 points ago in politics

The people remain behind [sic] are a bunch of rich, white people who want to feel good about themselves by feeling morally superior to their neighbors who really believe that whole ‘Jesus died for me’ stuff,” Erickson said.

Evangelicals in a nutshell. One more in a long, long line of self-owns by Erickson.

(We only see this level of homophobic fear in self-hating Evangelicals that frequent airport bathroom stalls.)

[–] Hundreds showed up in Manchester, NH tonight to see Pete, despite the cold. First event I've attended for ANY candidate before. Kerfluffle-Bunny 7 points ago in Pete_Buttigieg

The “2054” line is so important - I’m Gen X and I’m ready for someone who looks more like me, pushing a platform that resemble my values. And who addresses my concerns for our future.

[–] Mitch McConnell undid 213 years of Senate history in 33 minutes Kerfluffle-Bunny 459 points ago in politics

I actually hate him. I can feel my blood pressure rise every time I see him.

[–] Roughly half of Americans think Christian nationalism is a rising threat to freedom Kerfluffle-Bunny 16 points ago in politics

He fully believes in separation of church and state. He’s Episcopalian, and explicitly states he won’t call himself Christian specifically because of Evangelicals. All of this info is readily available at even a surface skim on him.

He’s the exact opposite of what you elude to. I’m agnostic, my spouse is atheist, and we both support him.

[–] Roughly half of Americans think Christian nationalism is a rising threat to freedom Kerfluffle-Bunny 57 points ago in politics

Chris Stroop is the best source for info on this threat, IMO. He coined the term “exvangelical” - he’s been building visibility into this on Twitter, as well as providing safe harbor for those who escaped the evangelical culture.
