[–] To make people reconsider their choice of words MaliciousHH 3 points ago in therewasanattempt

Hit the nail on the head there, it's strange that people see intelligence as this one-dimensional thing. Lots of gifted scientists are complete idiots when it comes to things which aren't their field.

A couple of times he just blatantly passed the ball out of play, not as bad as Eriksen but still some crappy balls.

To be fair, he's more than made up for it with some absolutely shocking passes this game

The only conflation was that of "explosion" and "detonation", which have different meanings. /u/SecondaryLawWreckin said "it uses explosions to light off the combustion process and afterburner" and /u/titsandwhiskey pointed out that cars use explosions to produce power. Both statements are true, but /u/SecondaryLawWreckin is using the word "explosion" as if it mens the same thing as "detonation" when actually "detonation"is a term specifically referring to supersonic explosions.

Saying that /r/titsandwhiskey is conflating "detonation" and "deflagration" by referring to both as explosions is like saying that referring to greyhounds and labradors as "dogs" is somehow misleading.

That's not true, detonation and deflagration are both forms of explosion. A quick Google search will tell you this.

Probably just wanted to film their dog jumping in slow motion on their phone, it's hardly the greatest mystery in the universe.

[–] Fernandinho and Kane get into it - Tottenham 0-0 Man City MaliciousHH -6 points ago in soccer

I really doubt that, the risk of injury is pretty high so that would be stupid. People act like the players see these things in slow motion and can plan out their movements incredibly precisely to try and win fouls in every encounter.

Yeah, my girlfriend lives about 300m away from the stadium and said she didn't hear anything without the windows open. Seems well designed.

True, the arrogance of the left of Labour does absolutely no favours to them. You can't win an election when you treat everyone who doesn't already agree with you as if they're evil.

That is genuinely complete and utter bullshit, the centre in the UK is predominantly made up of centre-left social democrats. The fact that the left see the lib dems and TIG as right wing just shows how radicalised both sides of the spectrum have become.

Idk, it's amazing how monumentally irresponsible people are with their files

[–] Really people still have these on their car MaliciousHH 1 points ago in Shitty_Car_Mods

A few years ago I saw a massive yellow hummer with these, decked out in LED lights all over. The bizarre thing is that I was in a small town in south-east England, not in the states. You never ever see this kind of shit over here.

The first image doesn't seem to match up with any of the others, plus there are no actual photos, just renders? That seems very suspicious.

[–] The importance of prepro: location scout vs final product MaliciousHH 26 points ago in Filmmakers

I disagree, it's just outright tacky and dated looking. There is no genre in 2019 where this would not be considered a crap music video.

If you have to think about it you're not on enough levels of irony bro

Hmm I'm not sure I agree, I don't think mindlessly engaging with social media for potentially hours a day is very good for your mental health. I find it really hard not to check reddit, instagram and Facebook but they don't really bring me any pleasure. It's a crutch and an addiction and I think it trains our brains to constantly seek instant gratification.
