    This is the way!

[–] Meta or fun? Matzeroni 1 points ago in MonsterHunterWorld

    Im in the middle.

I see the value of the meta skills and builds, but I never just rebuild them.

For me, none of my builds are starting before I don't at least have health boost 3 and earplugs 5 in them, after that, I either go damage/meta or just some fun stuff like crit draw/Barioth set long sword anime build.

[–] Those who use what are considered non-meta or impractical sets or use skills with certain weapons, what lead you to those sets and why? Matzeroni 2 points ago in MonsterHunterWorld

Critical draw longsword with Barioth set bonus to add a stun effect.

Iai slashing for days, never felt more anime while playing monster hunter, it's just so flashy and fun to play like that

[–] The adaptive sniper rifle nerf translates into 27.4% less damage per shot Matzeroni 0 points ago in DestinyTheGame

The numbers compared to aggressive frame snipers now would be interesting.

God rolled trophy hunter could be legendary sniper king now due to the changes

I did thanks, mhw iceborne released on pc on exactly the right time, it will keep me busy long time

[–] How big is the actual difference in normal game play between "meta" builds and "suboptimal" or "comfy" builds damage wise? Matzeroni 2 points ago in MonsterHunterWorld

    Yeah but...

First, I don't have access to grath (guess that's for golden rathian) since I'm not Mr 70

And second, and even more important, I really dislike the look of the rathian sns, like really.

Well said man, I think I'm kind of In between the suboptimal and comfy builds, I commonly use damage skills, first and foremost weakness exploit or critical boost, but i never run without 1 or 2 comfy skills like health boost, blessing or stun resistance.

So your point is more that free element on poison is not good, not that free element overall isn't good, and that something like elementless would suit Narga sns in that example better?

And you really think 3 attack skill points give more then 10% extra damage assuming the 40% increase on a pure damage build are true?

Anyway that kind of turned into a build discussion whilst I only asked for the difference between a full damage meta build and a comfy build XD

[–] How big is the actual difference in normal game play between "meta" builds and "suboptimal" or "comfy" builds damage wise? Matzeroni 1 points ago in MonsterHunterWorld

    Thanks for the suggestion man.

But since someone here wrote that the damage difference between a full damage build and a full comfy build with no damage skills at all is around 40%, I'm fine with my 3 "wasted" slots ^

Thanks for the tip with kushala though, didn't knew that

[–] How big is the actual difference in normal game play between "meta" builds and "suboptimal" or "comfy" builds damage wise? Matzeroni 1 points ago in MonsterHunterWorld

But that's exactly what I meant. "isn't all that great", "sacrificing slots" and so on.

Someone here stated that the actual difference between a full damage meta build with all damage skills and a full comfy build with absolutely no damage skills at all is about 40% damage, how much will three "wasted" slots matter? Especially when set slots unlock something like poison ticks on the weapon for more damage, more damage to the monsters elemental weakness, or paralysis for more free damage on the monster?

Sure there may be a "better weapon" especially when talking stuff mr 200 or Safi and so on, but again, while they are better, by how much? Is it really that much when the difference between full damage skills and now damage skills is merely 40%?

Yeah, got around 200 hours on ps4 and always only got emote spams as well, but I guess on pc it's just easier to type things so it's more present there.

I must say it was only once where I got messaged like this with the Narga blades, which was especially funny since it was a random who joined my level 1 tempered tobi kadachi run without me shooting an SOS flare, the other one with the skills was at the banbaroo hunt mission at the beginning of iceborne campaign after the monster was killed, so maybe he was more trying to help then trying to mock me.

Nice to see an actual number, really appreciate it man, thanks! That was exactly the number I was looking for, although I won't ever run "fully comfy" or how it is called, I mostly root for weakness exploit 3 at least

As I wrote in the main post, since I'm not done with iceborne atm I'm not really having a build yet, started anew with iceborne on pc after playing mhw on ps4, but even there only to hr 56.

Thanks for the links, I surely will take a look on them

, if you’re using the Narga SnS with Free Element for Poison, yes, you should be asking yourself why aren’t you using the Gold Rathian one instead? Is it because you like the look? Is it because you don’t have access to Gold Rathian weapons yet? Both are valid but you should at least know why.

Both reasons are true, with more tending to liking the Narga look way more

I'm not really having a build atm since as I wrote I'm not done with the iceborne story yet, but my main skills to build for will always bus weaknesses and health boost, a little Status resistance and then things that suit my weapon like superweapon for hidden element weapons if I like them or more affinity stuff when my armor/slots allow it

[–] How big is the actual difference in normal game play between "meta" builds and "suboptimal" or "comfy" builds damage wise? Matzeroni 2 points ago in MonsterHunterWorld

Thank you for the detailed reply there man, appreciate it.

I found the Narga sns part extremely funny though, given the fact that I'm not even done with the iceborne story yet.

I guess I will farm for those when I have unlocked them, but don't know if I will really use them since I'm absolutely not a fan of its looks

free element is a skill that requires WAY TOO MANY slots

I think it's fine for me, 3 points isn't that bad imo

[–] How big is the actual difference in normal game play between "meta" builds and "suboptimal" or "comfy" builds damage wise? Matzeroni 1 points ago in MonsterHunterWorld

So you suggest I should purposely make my hunts less safe for me and possible team mates, which leads to more cart and more completely failed attempts, then slower improving my skills with more safety for me and other players...?
