Poor little guy flew into the window and was a bit stunned. Thought he might be getting a trip to the nature center but he flew off shortly after I took this, so hopefully he's alright.

Excellent. Thanks again for the thoughtful input!

Thanks for your reply. They are, though my understanding has been the investment strategy behind that is using the savings from pre-tax additions to save invest today. I believe we have the option to invest into a Roth 401(k) as well but I'm hoping to start a nest egg of money that I will be able to use in the next 5-10 years for a down payment on a home or the like. Is it worth having both and how would you split contributions?

Great, thanks very much for the response. That was a foreign language for a moment but Google knew what was going on.

What's the reasoning behind these particular indices and what might you suggest as an approximate breakdown of investment?

    Thanks again

I currently deduct 10% from my gross income with a 4% employer match. I think I've hit all the other steps. I'll read through the investment portion when I get home, thanks!

These guys played at my work event a couple years ago. They're really pretty good despite having the most uncomfortable band name of all time.

Why did you bother commenting on this just to be a shitty person?

Yikes, thanks for the advice. That will probably be the route I have to go with. I can pay the bulk upfront so the interest shouldn't be too much of a pain.

I can't imagine I filed the W-4 incorrectly given how simplistic my tax status is as a single guy with no dependents. I've subscribed to the zero for everything mentality to this point (26 years old) and never had an issue, but frankly I find it more likely that I messed up an input or something than my corporate payroll. Regardless, I don't suspect they'll be of much use at this point but that I think you're on the right track with asking them to step in with at least a letter the error if they will accept any responsibility.

Thanks for the advice. With savings and the next few pay checks I think I can likely pay in full. Just trying to find the best financial option without leaving myself any emergency fund.

Thanks, my current card is set up that way with a $5,000 limit so that might be a viable option for a portion of it.

Saw this for the first time at a local rodeo last summer and couldn't stop laughing. What you don't immediately realize is that it gets progressively better as the flock mentality takes shape and they start to tear out of the gate like a fluffy kamikaze towards their buddies.
