[–] Russian column passes through US checkpoint MoesBAR 1 points ago in syriancivilwar

That’s a weird check point, there’s no barrier on the actual road and no one reviewing who’s passing through.

It reminds me of when a police car is just parked by the road in some areas to dissuade people from speeding.

Wonder if the two sides nod at each other.

[–] Top cheap TV antennas (under $20) ranked best to worst MoesBAR 1 points ago in cordcutters

I’ve tried a few for my girl and several big networks like PBS and NBC don’t show up, just gonna stop the hassle and use Locast they have my city luckily.

If you want local channels, check out Locast, it’s free and streaming but not all major markets are on there yet.

Disneys waiting in the wings trying to get your money soon as she’s into them again.

Still wish it was easier to find new films by genre, they release so much stuff that after a week or two new stuff gets lost because of even newer stuff.

I’ve had Disney+ for two months and I have no idea why every analyst was drooling over the “Disney IP”, like it’s 30-40 great movies I’ve seen a million times since I was a kid and several tons of terrible Disney channel shows.

The only good stuff on there is new releases that Disneys dropping as slowly as possible to avoid people binging and canceling.

Critical mass when they have enough subscribers to offset the volume of content they make to keep them like Amazon, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

Though, while not cash flow positive after making their debt payments they do actually have a left over profit in the hundreds of millions.

Doesn’t really matter in the end, Disney borrowed 7 billion last fall even with their profits, money’s so cheap right now everyone’s borrowing as much as they want.

That and for a while they were cutting their rates almost every quarter because of competition from Google and Microsoft cloud services trying to undercut them for market share.

AWS is literally the one reason Amazon ever came close to greatness, their profit margins on everything else is laughable by Microsoft, Disney and Apples standards.

[–] Netflix Projected to Spend More Than $17 Billion on Content in 2020 MoesBAR -1 points ago in cordcutters

If a specific and consistent element of the shows writing bothers him then he’s not the audience the writers have in mind to watch their show.

If a shows in French and someone’s annoyed they’re not speaking in English, the same reasoning would apply.

Netflix makes plenty of shows for all audience types, being mad about woke writing on a show is like complaining about how some shows are in Spanish or German, you’re not the target audience find something else, that’s why they make 700 shows a year.

[–] 420 SNA Police Force completed their training in Turkey and started working in Operation Peace Spring area MoesBAR 0 points ago in syriancivilwar

If an area is filled with Kurds the Turkish military needs to murder with air strikes and war crime committing Islamists, at least try for minimum standards of humility to not pretend there’s a difference between a “Kurdish area” and an area that just happens to be populated by hundreds of thousands of Kurds.

This reminds me of when Disney released the cast of Force Awakens before I had any idea who Adam Driver or Daisy Ridley were.

We’ll see how much these folks careers get after the show.

[–] IRGC arrest person who uploaded video of missile striking Ukrainian plane MoesBAR 2 points ago * (lasted edited 4 days ago) in worldnews

The Iranian military literally fired the missile at a civilian plane flying away from their own airport.

If you believe every counter action is the fault of the initial act then the blame can go back ten steps to Obama, ISIS, Bush and Bin Laden, Afghanistan, Russia, etc.

So a bunch of Arabs with Turkish authority in Kurdish areas...aaaaalright

Edit: A non-Kurdish area with a bunch of Kurds living in it.

    Makes way more sense...

[–] Before 2020 Is Over, SpaceX Will Offer Satellite Broadband Internet MoesBAR 2 points ago in cordcutters

The best thing about this is Amazon, and a third company are also working on a similar product so it’ll be sad and funny that in 5-10 years most Americans will have more options for Internet from space than their states.
