[–] Trump Campaign Removed Social Distancing Stickers From Seats at Tulsa Rally Molire 7 points ago in politics

Does this mean Trump feels his supporters are willing to become infected and die for him to show their obedient and grand loyalty to him?

[–] Trump wasn't briefed on report Russia paid Taliban to kill coalition forces in Afghanistan, White House says Molire 1 points ago in politics

How long ago did Trump learn that his friend Putin was paying money for the assassination of Americans in uniform in Afghanistan? 3 months? 6 months? A year?

Does this mean Trump feels Americans in uniform in Afghanistan and other locations are his property, like little toy soldiers owned by an angry and disturbed little boy with dark urges?

Does this mean Trump feels Americans in uniform in Afghanistan are expendable because the value of his own personal and political interests outweigh the value of their lives?

Does this mean the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, U.S. Army General Mark A. Milley, will salute Trump the next time he sees him in person?

[–] Americans Should Never Again Comply With Pandemic Lockdown Orders Molire 3 points ago * (lasted edited 2 months ago) in politics

Over the past 157 years, I think the Republican Party has metastasized into the most corrupted, malignant, and dangerous political party in U.S. history and on Earth.

For example, in 2020, I think Trump, Moscow Mitch and congressional Republicans would never agree to abolish slavery if the US still had slaves like it did in 1863.

In 1863, Abraham Lincoln was a member of the Republican Party, and, like most Republicans of his era, he was a liberal. His executive order abolished slavery.

Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation took effect on January 1, 1863, and it was very liberal, indeed. "It changed the legal status under federal law of more than 3.5 million enslaved African Americans in the Confederate states from slave to free."

Notably, in 1860, about 3 years before Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation took effect, the U.S. Census Bureau counted the size of the U.S. population at 31,443,322 residents, which included 3,953,762 slaves. (See 1860 Census: Population of the United States » Download Introduction » page ix, Census of slaves and free colored.)

In 1860, about 12.6%, or about one of every 8 persons living in the United States was a slave.

I think Trump, Moscow Mitch, and congressional Republicans would never agree to set free some 3.9 million slaves or any other number of slaves if slavery still existed in the United States like in 1863.

[–] Texas Gov. Greg Abbott Criticizes Young People for Not Taking Coronavirus Seriously As Infections Rise Molire 3 points ago * (lasted edited 2 months ago) in politics

Edit content in fourth paragraph: "...somewhat like the 1918-1920 global influenza pandemic lasted, with 3 waves of it across the US (Jan-Jul 1919 1918, Aug-Nov 1919 1918, Jan-Apr 1920 1919...."

I wonder whether William Travis, Jim Bowie, and Davy Crockett would be proud to know about the many people in Texas, today, who seem to be willing to risk the health and lives of thousands or more of other people in Texas, across the US, and around the world by not following "appropriate, best health safety practices," and by "...not wearing face masks...not sanitizing their hands...not maintaining social distancing."

95,793 cases and 2,062 deaths — Number of confirmed COVID-19 cases and confirmed COVID-19 deaths in Texas, as of June 16 at 8:19 PM Mountain Daylight Time. Update: 102,661 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 2,142 confirmed COVID-19 deaths in Texas, as of June 18 at 6:21 PM Mountain Daylight Time.

5,567 deaths — Cumulative total number of projected COVID-19 deaths in Texas by October 1, 2020, (per projections by the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation, University of Washington, with a 95% uncertainty level, ranging from a low of 3,797 to a high of 11,416 total cumulative COVID-19 deaths in Texas by October 1.)

If the COVID-19 epidemic in the US lasts for about 18 months, or longer, from January 2020 to sometime in the summer of 2021, or longer, somewhat like the 1918-1920 global influenza pandemic lasted, with 3 waves of it across the US (Jan-Jul 1918, Aug-Nov 1918, Jan-Apr 1919, and a possible 4th wave ending in some countries in the Southern Hemisphere sometime in the summer of 1920), killing an estimated worldwide total of around 50 million and arguably as high as 100 million, including about 675,000 dead in the US, when there were "only" about 103 million people in the US population for the pandemic to target, sicken, and kill, in comparison with about 330 million in the current U.S. population for the COVID-19 pandemic to target, sicken, and kill.

I wonder if people in Texas today, who are not bothering to follow appropriate, best health safety practices, might be proud of their personal contributions to extending the duration of the currently growing first wave of the pandemic, followed by a possible second, third, or more waves over the coming months, seasons, or years, helping to increase, by possibly thousands, tens of thousands, or more, the number of sick, hospitalized, and dead in Texas, across the US, and around the world.

[–] Health Official Urges George Floyd Protesters to Wear Masks, Practice Social Distancing Molire 1 points ago * (lasted edited 2 months ago) in politics

https://covid19.healthdata.org/united-states-of-america (This popular link might require several seconds to open.)

Apparently, Barb understands little if anything about the COVID-19 disease or has little concern about it. I think COVID-19 will infect and kill many more people in Washington DC, other US cities, and US states, in part due to the murder of George Floyd, the circumstances surrounding the ensuing protest marches, and the past, current, and coming deadly failures of the Trump administration and some US state and local governments. I hope I'm wrong.

I'm going to throw in a little information about COVID-19 here, at the risk of boring you...

The worsening circumstance of protestors, police, and other people not wearing face coverings and not physical distancing during the past 7 days of protesting in the US and other countries, and people in general, during the past 6-8 weeks, who have stopped or curtailed the use of face coverings and physical distancing because the weather is warming in the northern hemisphere and stay-at-home orders have been relaxed across the US and in other countries, might lead to epidemiologists at the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington revising their COVID-19 projections covering the period from the present to August 4.

Presently, using all of the currently available COVID-19 data from most U.S. county governments, every U.S. state government, COVID-19 testing labs across the US, and similar COVID-19 data available from the governments and COVID-19 testing labs in other countries around the world, the IHME is projecting that the total cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 deaths in the US will grow during the coming 64 days, from the present estimated number of 106,925 (June 2, 02:51 GMT) up to 135,109, by August 4, but that projection includes a 95% uncertainty interval, with the current projection showing numbers ranging from a low of 123,344 up to a high of 157,715 confirmed COVID-19 deaths in the US by August 4.

(The IHME projections include projections for the US, each of the 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia; 55 other countries; and each of the provinces/states in 6 of those other 55 countries.)

Because of the effects of fewer people wearing face coverings, fewer people practicing physical distancing, and US and international protest marches over the murder of George Floyd, I think the actual number of confirmed COVID-19 deaths, in the coming hours, days, weeks, months, and seasons in the US and other countries, could exceed by a wide margin the current IHME projections, which the IHME can revise if changing circumstances in the real world require a revision.

Whether the outcomes of the COVID-19 disease are better or worse in each city, each state, each country, and across the world, over the coming hours, days, weeks, months, and seasons, depends in large part on 2 fundamental things: face coverings and physical distancing.

Historical note: the 1918-1920 influenza pandemic killed about 675,000 people across the US in 3 waves (Jan to Jul 1918, Aug to Nov 1918, and Jan to Apr 1919; some epidemiologists think a 4th wave happened in some countries, ending in the summer of 1920). 675,000 died in the US, in part because the U.S. government and US newspapers lied, by intentionally under reporting the actual number of people dying each day. The U.S. government and US newspapers lied because, for economic and financial reasons, the government did not want to scare and demoralize the American public with the truth, and many people in the US failed to practice physical distancing and failed to wear face coverings in public settings, during the 3 waves of the pandemic that occurred over a period of 15 months in the US from January 1918 to April 1919.

[–] U.S. coronavirus death toll tops 100,000 as Trump pushes to reopen Molire 2 points ago * (lasted edited 2 months ago) in politics

Trump is pushing to "reopen" the economy unscientifically and recklessly, which is pushing for death for others.

I think Trump's psychopathic view of death and pain for others is interwoven tightly with a ruthless pathological aim to become richer, more powerful, and president for a second term, no matter how many others might have to die for him to satisfy his obsessions, drives, and dark urges. As the number approached 100,000 dead from COVID-19 in the United States, Trump golfed. I think he would golf if the number were approaching 200,000, 2 million, or 20 million. For him, the sick, injured, and dead are only numbers and are expendable.

[–] Should I remove ublock origin to improve fingerprint security? Molire 2 points ago * (lasted edited 2 months ago) in TOR

I have read somewhere tgat majority of tor users dont use ublock origin, is that true?

In my opinion, most informed Tor Browser users don't use uBlock Origin, but that is a guess. I know of no documentation confirming what percentage of users of Tor Browser use uBlock Origin.

Also I read at tor's psge that tor browser show enables same fingerprint to all it's users.

Each Tor Browser version is designed to have the same default/standard fingerprint. If all users have not changed or edited any Tor Browser settings, have not added/removed any extensions/plugins, and have not added/deleted any configuration preferences, each fingerprint should be uniform with the fingerprints of all others, including the default fingerprints in the 87,859 initial downloads of Tor Browser on May 20, 2020, and the fingerprints of Tor Browser users among the 1,973,112 direct connections and 48,117 bridge connections to Tor relays on May 21, 2020.

Tor Browser > Documentation > b. Tor Browser Design Document > You can search for instances of "fingerprint" appearing in the Design Document (e.g., "Users are free to install these addons if they wish, but doing so is not recommended, as it will alter the browser request fingerprint.")

Will removing java script from about:config increase the risk.

By default, Tor Browser includes the NoScript addon. You should not "remove" or disable NoScript. It helps to protect you.

You can examine different elements of your fingerprint at TorZillaPrint: https://ghacksuserjs.github.io/TorZillaPrint/TorZillaPrint.html

The EFF Panopticlick test can estimate how many bits of identifying information your browser conveys in its fingerprint. In Tor Browser, if you change a default setting or the configuration, the test can display the estimated bits of identifying information before and after a change, enabling you to compare any estimated difference in your fingerprint. The test provides an estimate and does not measure for all possible fingerprint elements: https://panopticlick.eff.org/

[–] just got tor.. Molire 1 points ago in TOR

    You are doing nothing wrong.

Apparently, the google.com > Gmail site will default to displaying the national language of the apparent country location of your exit relay, which in your description was one of the many country locations where Arabic is the national or common language.

You shouldn't confuse the language version of Tor Browser that you installed with the language your destination web site displays. They can be two different things.

By default, Tor Browser itself will use the language that corresponds with the language version of Tor Browser that you downloaded and installed.

Presently, you can download Tor Browser in 32 different languages, including Arabic, English, and 30 more.

After you download and install the English-language version (or any other language version), you can type gmail.com in the address bar, which should connect to something like:

    https://www.google.com/intl/de/gmail/about/

In this example, in the URL address, the "de" indicates the google.com > Gmail site has defaulted to displaying the language that corresponds with the country code "de", which designates Germany, but in this particular example, the Tor circuit diagram shows the connection to the destination site actually is coming from an exit relay in Austria, where the national language also is German. Thus, the destination site (Gmail) will display the German language, which corresponds with the "de" country code.

Each time you use Tor Browser to connect to a site, Tor can use any one of the Tor exit relays to establish the connection with your destination site.

On 21 May 2020 at 00:00:00 UTC, Tor Metrics reported that 1,254 exit relays were running, and their apparent locations were in a total of 56 countries from six continents. (Tor Metrics > Services > Network Status > Relay Search > Advanced Search > Flag: Exit > Advanced Aggregation > by CC).
