[–] Northern spotted brown owl spotted in Kesey Square. OGMoonster 2 points ago in Eugene

Thank you for the correction. It is the very first owl I've seen in the wild, very strange to see him downtown near people, completely unphased.

The rats downtown are the size of kittens. They frequent the gutters about a block away and I have 0 objection to seeing more of these beauty's downtown if it takes care of the rodent problem.

[–] Tips for my first winter in Eugene? OGMoonster 7 points ago in Eugene

Outside exercise is probably best. If you have warm boots and a camera you can climb Spencer Butte any time and really get some nice shots. We also have tons of waterfalls and rivers around here. In the winter it is too cold to get in the water but even just seeing these places in winter is worth it. They are beautiful.

I would suggest, sahalie falls if you haven't seen them yet.

Sweet creek falls is out towards the coast but is a really beautiful hike, and it hardly ever snows that direction so you don't have to deal with that.

Multnomah falls is really worth the drive but it might be snowy right now, also, if you get a chance to hike to fairy falls which is on the trail behind multinoma falls it is amazing. When I went we saw osprey and deer and the falls was amazing.

When its summer again you have to make a trip over to Crater lake for some high desert beauty, and if the pass is open you can drive up to the observatory and get a great look at the lava fields.

[–] My [F21] very Christian family believes that I am a lesbian although I am not and it's affecting my life. How can I prove them wrong? OGMoonster 1 points ago * (lasted edited 3 months ago) in relationships

Babe, run. Run far away and never look back. This is not a healthy family dynamic and if you stay there they will damage your beautiful heart, don't let them do this.

The problem is you can't prove them wrong or get back at them. As you grow older, you start to realize with every passing day that you can never change somebody, the only person you can change is yourself.

Leave them in their own dust and let yourself flourish somewhere where you feel safe and welcome, free to experience whatever you want whenever you are ready. Date men, or not, date women, or not. This life is yours to decide, so take it by the horns and guild it where you want it to be.

Always remember, "The blood of the covenant, is thicker than the water of the womb."

(This is the full quote, not an abbreviated version meant to mean the exact opposite)

We get to choose who influences us in the long run, the family we make with our friends and the ties that bind us together through experience are thicker than any perceived connection that we might "owe" our blood relations.

    WWMD&DPD? That's a very scary thought.

[–] Should I read the books OGMoonster 1 points ago in hisdarkmaterials

No. I just wanted to be the devil's advocate.

Yes you should read them but only if you want to fall more in love with the story and fantasize about your own deamon for the absolute rest of your life.

[–] We haven't even seen Lin on screen yet and nobody is giving him a chance. OGMoonster 6 points ago in hisdarkmaterials

Personally I can't wait to see him. It doesn't matter who did the part last, if the actor is good now. Like the character Jack Ryan in the Tom Clancy series... Ben Affleck, Harrison Ford, Alec Baldwin, Chris Pine and now John Krasinski all played the same character and I have Nothing against any of them, they did an amazing job.

[–] Cosplayers, what’s one cosplay you will never do again and why? OGMoonster 6 points ago in AskReddit

She asked to give me a lap dance and then asked to touch my chest. I gave her permission both times.

This is supposed to be for fabric to skin but it still did this to me... I did put it on some really sensitive skin, so it might be my own fault, I also wore it for about 8 hours straight.

I was wearing a really cute low cut vest. One of the women came up after a dance and asked me if I wanted a lap dance and while she was sitting on me she asked to touch my chest and commented on how the vest wasn't slipping at all, I told her that I had used fabric tape and that they would'nt come out, she grabbed the front of my vest and bounced my breasts all over the place, no slippage, they actually shook as more of a unit almost glued together. I would 1000% recommend the tape, also strip clubs are a lot of fun.

Fabric tape, you can get it at Rite aid hear the hair brush section. Seriously I've worn tops that would have been a problem until I found this shit. I went to a strip club and had one of the women try to pull my breast out, shirt would'nt budge. Only problem was, if you wear it for too long it almost fuses with your skin... gives you something resembling a hicky when you finally manage to peel it off.

Shes probably going to see his deamon in the other world. It would mark him as a person from her own world without overtly having the two introduced.

Are you going to read the other books too? Book two is by far my favorite and so near and dear to my heart that I hardly know how to express it properly.

[–] [Serious] What is your most terrifying "we need to leave, NOW" random rush of fear you've felt? OGMoonster 1 points ago in AskReddit

A year and a half ago my partner and I were in a house fire. We were going to go get dinner and we heard something in the main part of the house (we were an attached appartment) when we opened the door the the main house, thick black smoke, about three feet of it rolled in along the ceiling. We could hear the fire, and see the orange of the flames. We shut the door and grabbed the animals...

The house burned almost to the ground. Our side was more insulated than the other half because we had closed the door but we had things on the other side too... the stuff you can replace and we've been doing well since, but the animals we lost that were on that side of the house...

The word POSH comes from an old sailing term. When wealthy people would travel on ships their luggage would be marked P.O.S.H. Port Out, Starboard Home.

[–] Moving to Eugene next month not sure where to live! OGMoonster 1 points ago in Eugene

Try to avoid anything directly off of 99. Roosevelt and 99 is called "4 corners" and you shouldn't go into that part of town alone after dark.

When you do find a place, for the love of god lock your car doors at night, or don't post it on here when someone goes through your car and takes your shit, and don't ever leave your bike locked up anywhere but inside your house, it will get taken.
