[–] Schoolkids, is all your homework still handwritten? Would you prefer to do it on computer? Why or why not? ObsidianOrangutan 1 points ago in AskReddit

Interesting. I wonder if there another generational shift going on with phones, since I think most people in their twenties and older would find writing more than short messages by phone weird.

I know what you mean about hands hurting, when I used to write essays in exams at school by the end my arm would be all cramped up

I'm the same age and I was able to do some assignments with computer but it was definitely not the norm. At college and afterwards I've switched to typing almost exclusively

The chans, and sort by controversial in dankmemes,

It's hard to tell sometimes. There's definitely an element of the fandom who are a bit too into the "it's fascism but in a universe where that's actually okay" element of the 40k lore,

So he's bipolar rather than just depression? Bursts of energy that are ultimately destructive

Not necessarily, its just that this guy is basically a kid put in a situation way over his head, so he's bad at everything.

Her sitting there calmly smoking makes me think of the story of the Chinese general who sat outside a city having tea and playing music when the enemy army came. And they decided it was such an obvious trap they retreated. When actually he had barely any troops

The oaths have a narrative force even without the heavens, if I understand the way stories work in the setting. Being on the side that breaks its oaths when offered generous terms isn't a good look

It's interesting to see how in these recent chapters cat has been acting in a much less front line combatant role, and more like a general or politician. In some ways she's becoming a mirror to the grey pilgrim

Question asked towards the end of the interview that haven't been discussed so much. "Will anyone (other than Bill Weld) run against Trump in the Republican primary?" Dave Weigle thinks Kasich will flirt with it, but ultimately not. Thoughts?

Much as I'd like some Republican to grow a spine I think he's right. With the hardcore base still got trump its going to be hard to get votes in the presidential primary. And would almost certainly mean you'd be primaried yourself.

Ironically the only real chance of a challenge might be someone from the right, on the basis that Trump didn't fulfill his promises and went swampy, passing Paul Ryan's tax plan etc. Maybe Steve Bannon will find a new sock puppet.

They're right that the combination of name recognition and the leftward shift of the party makes Sanders the defacto frontrunner, but I think they underrated how his personal characteristics will affect his candidacy.

There's a large constituency who would, all else being equal prefer a woman or minority over another white male. And his age may be an issue, in the same way its been for older presidents in the past. (Though a popular VP could mitigate that).

This is particularly a problem in a straight comparison with someone with similar policies but not a straight-white-cis-male like Warren,

    a) They literally said it wasn't the majority of Bernie supporters just a loud online minority.

    b) There's a reason lots of people, and particularly female journalists, have complained about online harassment when they criticise Bernie Sanders. No-one is saying every Sanders supporter is like that, but a substantial minority exist, and their presence is harmful to having an inclusive and open debate on the issues.

They literally spent 20 minutes talking about how amazing he was and how he deserved a lot of credit for moving the party to the left.

where does the Biden fanbase exist?

Remember 99% of people aren't that involved or interested in politics. Which meaans that a lot of people haven't really been paying any attention to the potential candidates up until now, so won't kno much baout most of them. Biden is well liked and well known, particularly in middle america. So h'll get a lot of votes from people with no strong feelings who feel positively about the Obama years

When measuring abaddon's success its important to realise the massive difference in scale beteen the chaos forces and the imperium. The CSM have stuff leftover from the heresy, the products of mad demon science, and whatever they can steal. The Imperium has the full industrial capacity and population of a million planets. The fact they do any damage at all is pretty impressive.

The closest analogy to real life is asymmetric warfare, guerilla tactics or terrorism. The Chaos forces are able to do well by focusing a lot of forces at particular strategicially important locations (e.g. Cadia) to do maximum damage, they're not trying to conuer the imperium in the traditional sense

Does anyone know where the "armless" bit comes from?
