You should really use Bing for porn. It is basically a porn site at this point with how good it's search is, their video search even has previews of videos on many porn sites.

And you must assemble a prototype yourself from scratch: from parts not salvaged from other machines.

Aren't our Mitochondria "salvaged from other machines?" IIRC they came along later and stuck around because having a powerhouse in the cell is a good thing.

[–] Blizzard, when we mute players, can it please also mute their voice lines PM_ME_EVA_STUFF 9 points ago in Overwatch

I wish the cooldown were lower, or at least separate for voice lines and emotes. I like to motivate my team as Widow by doing the curtain call emote in front of them and spamming "ooh la la" before the game starts.

The cooldown is a bit too long to spam both emotes and voice lines though.

This is what the thing the car is attached to looks like, the rest of the second stage is under the cone the car is sitting on. The engine you are referring to would be for the second stage of the rocket, they are going to use it to set it on it's course to it's final orbit.

That was the fairing, it helps with aerodynamics on the rocket as it is punching through the atmosphere, Different payloads might have different shapes or aerodynamic properties, the fairing lets them launch anything that will fit inside.

It isn't needed in space so it is jettisoned.

[–] What are some subtle mannerisms/traits that lead to getting clocked? PM_ME_EVA_STUFF 10 points ago in asktransgender

Eating and that little nod guys do were the hardest to get rid of for me, for the nod I just replaced it with a wave or a smile.

Eating was more difficult though, not only is it how you eat but people have told me food choices matter too (maybe get a salad instead of fries). I realized I was quickly scarfing down burgers in 5 bites where it took my cis friends 8-10 or more. "Guarding" my plate with my arms was also difficult to get rid of, still have to remind myself to keep my arms off the table.

It doesn't really set the bar very high does it? Pretty much anything is better than Ubuntu.

It's definitely a long shot, but IIRC that is actually three shots cut together to look like one epic shot.

Why use Antergos to install Arch when you could just install Arch? Antergos is just Arch simplified so a monkey could install it.

Tumbleweed is really stable for a rolling release distro, the way they do their QA for it is actually really cool. I haven't tried out leap yet though. It took me a while to get used to the package system they use, but after I got used to it it's great.

Thinking of switching my server from Debian to Leap, just to get some uniformity.

[–] Taken from a bulletbarry video PM_ME_EVA_STUFF 7 points ago in quityourbullshit

    Ubuntu

Please, if you are going to use a Debian based distro, just use Debian instead. Opensuse Tumbleweed is where the real fun is though.

[–] Any recommendations for drills and drill bits for case modding? PM_ME_EVA_STUFF 1 points ago in pcmods

In my opinion, Dewalt is the best brand. I'm currently using the DCD980M2, works well for everything from building treehouses to drilling holes in cases. It's big though, so I only reccommend it if you are planning on doing lots of non PC modding work too, sometimes it's hard to get into tight spaces in the case. Dewalt also makes some much more compact tools that work better for case modding, But I haven't used any of them long enough to recommend a specific model.

As far as bits, I use the DW1342 set, 21 bits in all the sizes you could need.

Generally you can go down to the hardware store and pick up anything Dewalt makes and expect it to be good, Can't think of ever having an issue with any of their products I've owned.

[–] My trusty x230 taking a nap after a gaming session. PM_ME_EVA_STUFF 3 points ago in thinkpad

On most games the CPU is the bottleneck, this little two core i7 is pretty much fully loaded and throttling at it's max temperature in intensive games (The Witcher 3, Overwatch, etc). I'm thinking about either Macguyver-ing a beefy CPU cooler onto the x230 I'm using, or just getting a t430 for those two extra cores. It runs fantastically as is, but I have high refresh rate monitors so I'd like to squeeze a little extra performance out of it.

From what I've read the 1050ti is a good choice, Probably going to put one in the eGPU setup when I move the Titan to a zen+ machine (the silly titan in an egpu setup is just a placeholder)

[–] My trusty x230 taking a nap after a gaming session. PM_ME_EVA_STUFF 5 points ago in thinkpad

These setups do run surprisingly well, I didn't believe how well mine ran when I put it together, Blew my mind to get 60+ FPS on high settings out of two PCI lanes. Sure I'm using a high end card (currently a titan x) But I still thought performance would be much worse considering it is plugged into a 6 year old laptop.

That does sound very cool, anyone know how much abandoned factories cost?

[–] My trusty x230 taking a nap after a gaming session. PM_ME_EVA_STUFF 6 points ago in thinkpad

Expresscard, USB doesn't have PCI. Specifically it looks like he is using the GDC Beast. IIRC it only uses two PCI lanes though, so you don't get anywhere near the full usage of the GPU out of it.

[–] Corsair ML120 Fan Mod to Gigabyte G1 980ti PM_ME_EVA_STUFF 1 points ago in pcmods

Nice, I've thought of doing this with a couple of my old GPUs, but with Noctua fans. Your next mod should be to do something about that GPU sag, not sure if it is the angle of the picture but it looks pretty severe.

[–] Open Source Alternative to Amazon Echo, Mycroft Mark II on Kickstarter PM_ME_EVA_STUFF 5 points ago in opensource

In the "Our philosophy" section it says "Other voice assistants on the market store every voice snippet they hear. At Mycroft, we delete the recordings as they come in, unless you actively choose to share your data by opting into our open data set." They don't specify if "as they come in" is refering to data going to the device or their servers, the way it is worded implies servers.

Nothing on the page specifies that everything is done on the device. From what I've read on their site, in order to use any version of Mycroft you need an account, which gets things like location for weather details, etc.

What is annoying is that if that is the only thing it uses it for, and if it actually does voice processing on the device, an account shouldn't be necessary. It should be able to set location on the device and pull data from whatever source you want without phoning home to their servers.

[–] Open Source Alternative to Amazon Echo, Mycroft Mark II on Kickstarter PM_ME_EVA_STUFF 1 points ago in opensource

Looks like it might still need to phone home to their servers. If they can make a product that doesn't need to do that then I'll get one, until then I'll stick to setting my timers manually.

[–] What's more annoying than miners buying up all the new cards? Buying up all the old cards! PM_ME_EVA_STUFF 1 points ago in Amd

There are a few alternatives to this intensive mining currently being worked on, that won't require a ton of GPU's. AMD probably doesn't want to risk a second generation cryptocurrency coming out in a couple years and the market being absolutely flooded with old mining GPUs.

    [–] OWL Season 1: Stage 1/Week 2/Day 3 Discussion Thread PM_ME_EVA_STUFF 2 points ago in Overwatch

I really want to know what they are going to do. Are they going to go easy on them because of the large skill difference? Or will they crush their will to live in the shortest match in the entire league?

Either way it is going to be sad to watch.

[–] Emergency alert about ballistic missile sent to Hawaii residents; EMA says ‘no threat’ PM_ME_EVA_STUFF 2 points ago in news

It obviously depends on where it is coming from, a submarine would launch on a lower trajectory and could be much closer to the target, in which case there is no guessing how quickly it could get there.

The nuclear threat people think of is North Korea, North Korea is about 7,200km from Honolulu. Assuming something similar to a DF-41 (Fastest ICBM I could find numbers on, terminal speed of 8.5km/s), if the missile didn't have to travel in an arc (it does), and if it could accelerate to terminal speed instantly (it can't), it would take a minimum of 14 minutes to reach Honolulu. And that time is with a magical missile that travels just over the surface and accelerates to it's maximum speed instantly.

Sure a submarine could launch one and have it hit much faster, in just minutes depending on how close it is.

[–] Emergency alert about ballistic missile sent to Hawaii residents; EMA says ‘no threat’ PM_ME_EVA_STUFF 3 points ago in news

    They don't take 30 minutes.

They do when they are coming from the other side of the planet. Even some of the fastest ICBMs take a while when we are talking about these kinds of distances.
