[–] Looking for advice about my options in regards to some medical bills that I tried to pay ProbablyNotDangerous 1 points ago in personalfinance

I originally tried to keep the payments with them but they said they would send it to collections if I didn't have it paid off in the given 3 months. I can see if they are willing to make arrangements considering their partner made a mistake.

That is true I will definitely be asking. I just didn't know if there was any potential leverage considering the mistake started on either the hospital or their processor.

I'm sure they would and that would be what we will do. I suppose overall nothing lost because debt is debt and we still took down our overall debt, but I feel like they may be willing to negotiate something due to their error. I have never tried to negotiate a medical bill before. I am currently looking at some information on how to talk to hospitals, but it seems unlikely they will be willing to do anything.

So when I deployed, on top of our regular deployment we did a 3 month pre-mob where we were evaluated by Active Duty trainers to see if we were up to par on our particular tasks. We spent 3 months doing every type of infantry skills trainings, live shoot houses, land nav, convoy ops, base defense, ied ID etc. So not as trained, but we were at least box checked on each type of skill they could cook up. Who knows if that meant actually proficient, or "can fog up a mirror" proficient.

Thanks for pointing that out. Everyone likes to shit on the Guard but a lot of Guard units do the same deployments as anyone else, they just don't spend peace or downtime doing details or just training, they live their civilian life.

Well and at some point why can't you just be the biggest and baddest colony on the Rim?
