The goal of capitalism is gross. I lived in Latin America where the execution was a century of killing everyone who opposed it.

The result of capitalism is modern quality of life. The result of communism is dark ages for hundreds of millions and deaths for tens of millions. Just the talk you have is impossible in communist state. Go to NK check out how they are doing.

I don't know where you lived and the history of your country. But all countries combined in both Americas didn't suffer as much as people from communist regime in USSR alone. Read Solzhenitsyn, read about Holodomor, read about quality of life in USSR.

And btw you didn't answer my question on who is going to decide peoples needs.

I agree with you. Capitalism is giving according to ability. And this is fair, unless you get an advantage manipulating the rules of the game. Changing laws by applying monetary resource to change politicians opinions one way or another, blatantly bribing or proving aid in different spheres of interest of politician, help him achieve non common goals. Most cases show that system tends to be fair without those factors. Time needed to accumulate enough changes. But in fair market with a proper government regulation and culture we get better and better conditions for the whole society with so many needs, sometimes even conflicting.

What I'm saying in communism appear factors that will determine who's going to get more. More is what you call according to a need. So someones need will be higher, then the rest. And if some are greedy, they will try to manipulate system to become needy. They will concentrate so much resources this will become their work. And instead of producing something valuable they will produce manipulation and corruption. Society is highly sensitive to this. As psychological studies show if someone breaks the rule and gets competitive advantage, there's very high chance surrounding people will adopt this behavior. It is highly addictive.

This is what happened in USSR, NK, East Germany, China. Yes China before they starting adopting and idea of free market. Because that's the only reason their economy is booming. They said, sure we will work in accordance with capitalism. Sell our workforce at a market price. And it is ridiculously low, so you want to hire our workers and build factories here.

The goal of communism is nice, but solution is flawed. 20th century showed it. I experienced it so as huge amount of people.

All the effort to ruin previous agreement, stir tensions that could start conflict or full blown war just to boost oil prices for his boss in Russia.

From the person who actually lived in USSR. Communism is a myth and here's why. Someone decides who should get resources. And resources are always scarce. In communist it is THE PARTY. Which knows 'best' what you need.

In good case, this creates a bureaucratic, crooked system when people are not compensated fair for their work. People are left without resources unless you are on top of the chain and without rights because of authoritarian nature of the system.

In bad case, such USSR was. Tens of millions are killed in ethical and class extermination such as Holodomor and Gulag. People didn't have any democratic rights, which some westerners don't seem to appreciate because they were born with it and think it is a given and what is a given can't be good. You don't even have access to basic stuff, like food, toilet paper and soap. Ever tried getting up in 4 AM to get 200 gr of butter standing in line for several hours just to not get anything? That's a reality of living in USSR that I witnessed. And all resources went to build rockets. Similarly to NK. People starve there but they try to send rockets towards US coast. With USSR it was exactly the same. But on the larger scale. In the end USSR collapsed by inability to compete with the world, being decades behind modern world. But yes you can call USSR superpower because we could nuke the shit out of the world.

Workers pay, both skilled and unskilled drastically increased over the past 100 years. Look at China or Africa, hundreds of millions of people went from poor to middle class. Life expectancy increased. Child mortality decreased. All because of free market economy. It is not that it is flawless, but humanity didn't invent anything better. Have you any suggestions how to improve this system?

Those companies are investing in an unstable state. It is a risk and it is not easy to build something in developing states as the corruption usually is unprecedented.

I know how hard it can be to get investments living in a muuuuuch more developed Ukraine where I live.

It is not Harry Potter magic creating something. Whoosh, you have a factory, whoosh, people are working there and exporting your product. You go through beraucracy, whole infrastructure can be absent and must be created, people taught how to work, taught western level of work ethics etc.

We all know how many sweatshops exist and conditions people are working there. And it is bad. But what is the alternative? Building local automated factory and since there's no rich people investing in these countries people there will live better? Some redditors will be getting the problem out of their concious, continuing not contributing anyhow to wellbeing of these people.

You have to continue stopping yourself. I had such tendencies when I open app on the phone, then I close it, then automatically reopen. In such cases I associated opening app with negative feeling, like a pinch. But you have to do it every time. Open page -> catch yourself doing what you don't want to -> negative stimulus -> close page. Do it every time. Worked wonders for me getting rid of a lot of behavioral practices.

There's a snooze option. I did it for everyone who posts things I don't want to waste my time on. Downside I have to repeat the process every 30 days.
