[–] Scarlett Johansson's performance as Black Widow is overrated. RVarki 1 points ago * (lasted edited 4 days ago) in unpopularopinion

Not really. I think we as moviegoers have undervalued versatility. The fact of the matter is, most people who're good looking enough to be leads, probably only have 4 or 5 different ways that they can read their lines. Thats the case with basically every other MCU lead as well (doesn't mean they aren't good at their jobs or that they can't be convincing, just that they aren't chameleons like some of their less successful peers)

Someone like Kate Winslet is the exception among leads, not the rule

[–] The Snyder Cut was better than Avengers 2012 RVarki 1 points ago * (lasted edited 6 days ago) in unpopularopinion

That's not true at all. The only genuinely bad thing he's made (since he's been a well known director), was the original Justice League. Everything else he's made is varying degrees of watchable

Can't say the same about Snyder though (Man of steel was exhilarating in parts, but everything else has been some combination of pretentious, terrible written or unpleasent)

[–] What are things that every fanbase thinks happens only to them? RVarki 2 points ago in nba

Their young players not getting the "credit they deserve".

Their best player not getting calls or being snubbed from top 10 discussions.

[–] Is Blake Griffin a Hall of Famer? RVarki 1 points ago in nba

I might be the only person outside of Griffin's camp who thinks this, but the dude might have one more All Star appearance in him.

We see "washed" guys make comebacks all the time. On top of that, this is the first healthy off season he's had since 2017 (when he was All NBA), and for a guy who works as hard as Griffin, that can amount to a lot

So if the Nets go on a scorched earth 65+ win run (and Griffin builds on his playoff efficiency and defense), then a Warriors-esque 4 All stars, might not be ridiculous for that team

[–] Are there any other cases where an athlete helped his friends make it big? RVarki 1 points ago in nba

Blake Griffin's brother wasn't good enough for the league, so he became Blake's manager

[–] Will there be another Muggy Bogues? RVarki 0 points ago in nba

He's closer in height to Haliburton, than he's to Lebron

[–] How would you rank these "what-if" players in terms of potential ceiling, highest to lowest? RVarki 1 points ago * (lasted edited 11 days ago) in nba

Derrick Rose, T Mac, Penny (the dude literally only had 3 healthy seasons), Grant Hill (why do people forget that Hill didn't do much of anything with the Pistons)

[–] What star players would be ranked much higher if they were league average at a certain skill RVarki 1 points ago in nba

Charles Barkley would easily be considered as being better than Malone, if he'd shot 35% on the obscene amount of 3's he attempted

    Ben Simmons - Shooting

Trae Young - Defense (Trae's doing well for himself, but the dude would be the frontrunner for both MVP and MIP, if he magically became an average defender)

Young Rondo - Shooting (he'd be seen in the same light as CP3)

    Roy Hibbert - Shooting

    Carmelo Anthony - Defense

Jordan Clarkson, Lou Williams and all the other microwave guards throughout NBA history - Defense

Blake Griffin, Amar'e and all the other athletic forwards that never became true superstars - Defense and/or Shooting

[–] 2021-22 season MVP/MIP/6MOY/ROY RVarki 2 points ago in nba

Griffin's probably playing Center this season

They rarely give the DPOY to wings, and that only happens if you're a star or a veteran. Thybulle is neither

[–] staff ranked the best head coaches in basketball and had Monty at third. What y’all think? RVarki 1 points ago in suns

Carlisle is starting over in Indiana right now, and hadn't done anything meaningful for close to a decade. Kerr lost his super team and immediately became a lottery coach. Pop is old, and hasn't done anything since he lost his generational superstars. The only guy getting shafted on this list is Mike Malone

[–] Mikal Bridges or OG Anunoby? RVarki 1 points ago in nba

I like how you conveniently forgot to mention Kyle Lowry or even Trent Jr

[–] [Charania] Ben Simmons' stint in Philadelphia all but over; Sixers looking at Damian Lillard RVarki 0 points ago in nba

Why though? Simmons is 25, who'll (on paper) work well with a team filled with 2-way role players and a veteran guard in CJ, who can take care of locker-room leader role, while Simmons can focus on being their playmaker and defensive superstar, while not facing much of the pressure that ruined him last playoffs.

The trailblazers suddenly go from a heliocentric offensive team, to a defensive team, where everyone puts up double digits, which would be very familiar terrain for head-coach Chauncey Billups
